Great review, you earned yourself a sub and a like. Question tho what mount is in 13:16 please tell me so i could buy one of those been trying to find it but i can't
I'm not sure what mount it's called. I got mine from this Lazada store: www.lazada.com.ph/products/onair-microphone-shock-mount-with-free-desktop-stand-i2105615586-s9400155315.html?spm=a2o4l.seller.list.4.1bca4cccirAH3X&mp=1
Good review. You could've tested the mics without soundproofs, though. I also want to know the noise floor in a normal environment. Still, thanks for the review.
I don’t have soundproofs, only sound treatment. I tested it there so that people can focus on how the mic treats voice. Probably next time I’ll do a normal room vs sound-treated room when I do a mic comparison
It can be used for both especially if EQ or auto-tune are your friends. You may outgrow this mic quickly, though, as you progress with your production journey.
Hy sir just a random question. I'm doing voice acting as a hobby, and i have this issue with clicking noise frok my mouth. Do you know how to eliminate that sounds??? Or reduce it??? Im using bm800+phantom power and planning on buying the Fantech Leviosa this month, do you think switching from bm800 to Leviosa will bring any difference???
Hi! I do voiceovers/acting too and mouth clicks are remedied by hydration and technique. Get a “proper” condenser mic + audio interface and sound treat your recording space to get cleaner audio.
@theweirdchinita - I don’t have a usb-c to lightning cable so I have not tested a direct connection from mic to iphone. I do have a lightning 2-in-1 OTG adapter and I was able to connect the JD950 to my phone. There was some light humming/buzzing sound but I think it’s because of the OTG adapter.
hey sir, i just got the fantech leviosa yesterday. I tested it and my voice is really quiet when i use it to record, if i put the gain at 100% and the windows at 100 it'll make weird static noises. Do you have any solution sir?
I’m 50-50 with either mics when it comes to ASMR. Both mics here are very affordable, but, if you can start with an audio interface + condenser mic (like a behringer c1 or at2020), go for that instead.
Not sure what your question is. Same distance from the mic + same gain level - which one is better in terms of pickup quality? It depends on your preference. I like my condenser mics to have cardioid pickup patterns so I prefer the MCX01 over the JD950
@@draxx01920 between the two of them with 50% mic gain and an arm length away which one has the better pick up quality ? And better mic for singing + karaoke? Cuz I heard fantech's echo is not really good for singing
@@errorrave I don’t use either of them for singing or karaoke. You can lower down the echo for both. 50% gain at arms length = weak pickup for normal speaking voice for both. What mic are you looking for?
I'm currently using BM800 condenser mic + phantom power for streaming (tbh not sure if what I bought is even legit). I can deal with the noise suppression via OBS Studio filters, what I don't like with the current setup I have is the hissing or static sound I hear everytime I speak. On speakers you may not hear the sound but when on headphones or earphones you can really hear it. My question is, do both mics have the problem I just mentioned?
@@christiangriffinavila8888 no. it doesn't necessarily remove hiss as "hiss" can come from a variety of sources like the faulty cables, faulty connectors, loose/faulty audio ports, etc. including the mic itself. I moved away from using a condenser mic and 3.5mm audio port on my computer to a USB mic or a usb audio interface.
significantly noticeable. In Reaper, I can do DirectSound and go as low as 4x512 Buffer for a 42 ms latency. Anything lower causes severe degradation in audio signal. This means both input and output go thru the mic. I get a small improvement if the mic is used solely for input and the DAW output is routed to the 3.5mm audio jack of my laptop.
finally found solution, just select Duplex jn cuvase devices. Then in control add fantech leviosha, or any other usb mic. Then set input and output in VST connection.
It’s going to be a little tricky because of the screw holes on the side. You’d have to position it well on your mic holder that is attached to your arm stand
If you’re using a mechanical keyboard for games, and you’re talking at the same time while streaming/recording, both of these mics will pickup the keyboard sounds
@@Series870 I’m not sure I understand the question then since noise isolation normally means how much background noise a mic picks up. What exactly are you trying to do/achieve?
@@Series870 if you have background noise, consider using a dynamic mic instead. There’s one from Samson, Audio Technica and Maono that has both usb and xlr ports and these are budget-friendly. If budget is not an issue, soundproof/sound treat your space, then get a great audio interface, then you can choose between an xlr dynamic mic or an xlr condenser mic or get both.

Check the mic input setting of your recording software. Make sure it is set to Fantech
it is normal for 100% gain will cause static noise, so just make it 80% at the most
