Hey Tom! How did you leave a comment before the video was published? When I schedule my videos, it doesn't let me set a sticky comment in advance. Thanks!
You know, I must have watched 10-15 videos on these arms. This video is by far the best comparison of them (and the gator frameworks which was unknown to me before this video). You researched and covered nearly all aspects of the arms and how to adjust them (specifically for the Compass, something many other videos failed to do) and your honesty with your bias was appreciated. I was leaning towards the compass but you’ve swayed me to save a bit of money and go for the more solid performer over looks. So thank you for your help! 😊
I’m glad to hear it! For what it’s worth, I gave the compass to my wife after this video, but she quickly got annoyed by how difficult it can be to position, so I swapped it with a Rode and she loves it. The ease of use of the Rode really stands out after using another arm. Now I use the Compass as an overhead boom, which works well since it likes to stay high.
For the blue: If you balance the mic with the tension knob the bottom, then adjust the friction points the Blue will stay in whatever position (read: every position) you put it in. It’s in the instructions that came with the arm. Mine is balanced perfectly with a Shure SM7B, which is lighter than your pod mic. Your tension is to tight or your friction is too loose if it springs up in any postion. It took all of 2 minutes to get mine perfect.
I got a Blue Compass. When my mic is stowed away, I want it to be fully folded. When I want to use my mic, I want to pull it toward me and have it positioned at chest height. This type of movement is dead simple with any cheap scissor stand from Amazon but impossible to set up with my Compass, no matter how I adjust the tension or friction...
I have to say my man, I’m glad you are a creator. Every time I have questions about my podcast equipment you always point me in the right direction. Thank you brother! Good luck with everything. If I get a chance I’ll plug your channel.
THANK YOU! This is realyl nice to read. Feel free to let me know if there's ever anything you have a question about- it might be a good idea for a video. 👍
There are two things that always stick out to me about your channel: 1. You have some of the best formatting for these types of videos. Great time stamps, you give a short summary of the outcome before going into the details, and it's broken out really well. 2. Your color palette is really visually appealing. There's a calming blue theme to it. It really sticks out when looking through my subscription list. Keep making great content!
Wow! I'm so glad to hear this! It's easy to feel sort of stuck in your own bubble when making stuff, and I'm happy to know my intentions are making it through to the other side!
I have the Gator Frameworks and the more I use it the more it sucks. Loud, sticky, can’t hinge upward, stoppers at hinges. So many things wrong but it looks sweet on camera. Great work Tom Buck!
Same, I just picked one up today at Best Buy since I do telework from home, and I upgraded to an XLR setup. I’m literally going to take it back today and just order either a PSA 1 or the Elgato Wave Arm. The Compass is just completely unusable, 0/10 do not recommend.
I bought the Gator Boom Arm because it can lock in place. I have a noise shield, pop filter, shock mount and a Shure SM7B microphone attached to the arm and it holds the weight really well. So if you have heavy attachments on the arm be sure to get a boom arm that can support the weight or has a tightening mechanisms on it.
To fix the drooping issue on the compass u actually need to turn the nob thats nearest to the microphone the one right on top of it and it will fix it.
I have the blue compass and that's not what that knob does. None of the knobs change the spring tension, they only change the friction at each point. His issue was not at the last joint but it was the middle and first joints that were moving when he didn't want them to. Tightening those would help alleviate the issue.
I had a blue compass boom arm and it was unable to stay in position and rose/sank as it pleased. The positioning you show in the video worked, but blocked my face for video. The integrated cable clips were also finnicky and eventually warped with usage. It lasted me about 6 months before I ended up throwing it out because of all the faults. The tension was horrible and I'm glad it was addressed in this video. This was well over a year ago and it's disappointing to see they haven't fixed these issues.
I'm now using mine as a boom for my Videomic during videos since I like that to be above the frame and the arm like to stay high. Definitely not ideal in other situations though.
Totally agree! I own a blue arm as well and have the same issues even with the SM7B. Also the desk mount plate broke after only some weeks. Now it sits in a Rode desk mount. Overall the more optically pleasing but very imperfect product.
DAMN. Just damn, this was extremely helpful I was about to pickup a Blue Compass and this video really helped steer me towards the Rode PSA1. I'm really glad I found this video. Big thanks!
I'm so glad to hear that! I hope you like the PSA 1 (I'm sure you will). The Blue has some nice features but if you read through the comments here you'll see quite a few people who had the sam issue that I did.
WOW! You really lowered the boom with this video. I was literally on Amazon checking out options for boom arms when I decided to swing over to your channel. Your booming endorsement of the PSA1 has helped me making up my mind. Plus, I have the RODECaster Pro and a Podmic, so..... Thanks!!
DANGER CHRISTOPHER ROBINSON: Thank you Tom for this. I went with the Rode PSA1 for my Shure SM7B and I am so happy with it. I have one thing to say. If you are ordering from Amazon, make sure that your PSA1 does not ship from Amazon's warehouses but from the seller directly. It's just that if it ships from Amazon, there is a big chance that they have a warehouse process where the middle articulation gets pressured against something and it breaks. I got one like that and it comes with a broken cable plastic router and it squeaked a lot (a metal against metal noise). I had to send it back. I then read a lot of people complaining about the same when getting it directly from Amazon. I ordered on Amazon but I went to "Available from these sellers" and bought one that said "Ships from [seller]" not from Amazon. The second one was bliss.
Wow! How interesting. I've never had the squeaking issue, but after making this video, several people have contacted me saying that they're having the problem. I wonder if that's what it is?
I was given a Blue compass and it took longer setting up the arm tension than it did to setup the rest of my work from home desk. The arm sits over my laptop and when I need to use it for a call, I can pull the mic down and the arms do not swing back. This took forever to figure out as the arms were swinging all over the place but if you have one of these, definitely put in the time to get the tension setup for what works for you.
How? I have adjusted literally everything there is to adjust, and it still just swings all over the place. I've adjusted the knobs on each of the joints as well as the tension screw on the bottom. I've literally gone from all the way unscrewed to as far in as it'll go. I've literally spent hours on this thing and it will NOT hold a Blue Yeti, which is driving me nuts. I'm about to just return the thing
@@Austneal honestly I’ve had the compass for a year now and regret not getting the psa 1. The problem with the compass is that you need a heavy ass mic. My mv7 isn’t heavy which is why I bought an extender to keep it down where I want it. It just sucks
Great video... love the Rode PS1. The next video you will have to do is how to hide the cable inside the PS1 tube... did this yesterday and it takes the 'look' up to the next level. No more velcro straps and cables hanging off it. Keep up the great work
@@tombuck Simple if you have the tools and know what you are doing 😉. Or for us people who are not technically capable, you pay $24 for your local goto electronic equipment providers to do it for you lol. After its done, it looks great... might be a next video idea for you. Grateful for the personal response
All the comments about the Blue Compass are correct , I use a HyperX microphone with the Blue compass and it sucks constantly trying to tighten it. You really need a pair of pliers to get it to stay where you want it, but you then run the risk of cracking the cheap plastic turn knobs.
As a compass owner, I agree with the initial frustration over figuring out the tension but after an hour or so of trial and error I was able to adjust tension perfectly for use with a Blue Yeti X and have loved the look and function ever since. I found a RUclips video with instructions how to get tension perfect and I prefer the modern look of the compass.
I'm glad you were able to get yours adjusted well. I watched a lot of videos, spent a lot of time, but didn't get there. My wife is now using it with her Yeti and it works great because she has it positioned higher up.
Ever thought of trying monitor arms? There's a colleague of yours who calls himself DSLR Shooter who demonstrates this rather cleverly. They take much more weight, they come with built-in cable management, they can be pushed out of the way when not in use and they only need a little modification - theoretically.
Yes, I love Caleb's videos! I've been watching him for like 10 years. I've definitely thought about doing a setup like his, but I have all my current arms, so I don't want to be wasteful.
Thanks Tom, I purchased a PSA1. Works better than any boom I've ever had. Stays in place and easily swings out of the way. Would not have made that decision without your help. Third parties were selling them for $149.00 at Amazon. Bezos says he doesn't control third parties; more of his BS. I purchased from Sweetwater Audio for $99.00.
Dude... just found your video while looking for boom stands. Besides the good review and normally I really dont care at all, but big compliments to you. Its so natural , nice speed, nice sound, nice video quality, nice jokes, everything. Not overloaded like other youtuber who seem to be on coke 24/7. Keep that up! its obvious that you put much love into it ...and therefore success is unquestionable. cheers,
Thank you! I’m sorry I missed this when you first posted.

Never owned anything but my PSA1, until now, I didn't know how good I actually had it Now I can't stop smiling when I move my microphone around, and it stays exactly where I put it :D
Great view, thank you! PSA: PSA1s are a bit hard to find right now. Be careful because there are some retailers (Helix Camera for instance) obfuscating their stock status. They will charge you then suddenly become hard to get a hold of. I had this experience with them specifically. They list "Available for Purchase" instead of telling you it's backordered.
I have the shure mv7 with the blue compass and that thing that happens at 04:55 is one of my pet peeves with the blue. I’ve already played with the tension screw at the bottom, but it still does that annoying pop-up thing. Ughhhh. It’s really beautiful, but it does annoy me! (I have PSA1 envy right now).
Hey Tom, bit late on commenting but your mention of overtightening the plastic is 100% correct...they do indeed break😓 I have a yeti X in my current setup and that arm just wouldn't stay put. 100% on me for breaking it. Thanks Blue/Logitech for filling the tube with what seems like boom arm Viagra...
First video I’ve ever seen from you - wow. That was awesome. The depth and the analysis and the detail of comparison was incredible. Originally wanted the frameworks and the compass but now I’m sort of leaning towards the PSA to balance my needs. ;) but I guess I need to choose a mic first. I’ve been using the elgato wave 3 but might switch to the shure MV7. Or maybe use that podmic you have. Idk which mic makes me happy yet lol
I think that people don't understand how to adjust the Blue Compass. Mine's been in service for four months, now, and it's been perfect. I've got a Sterling Audio ST55 condenser mic on it: only 1.2 pounds. What I did was *loosen* (turn counter-clockwise) the tension screw at the base, nearly all the way out. (In fact: all the way out until it actually un-threaded, and then back in until it was just barely threaded.) At that point, I adjusted the pivot tension knobs. It stays exactly where I put it, now, without a single problem. I love it.
Pun Comments: that boom ARM pun was "booming!" The brand name puns never get old... The tension jokes are outSTANDing... 🤣🤣🤣 Real life (not pun related) question... Which one of those would you say is the most mobile friendly. (Its not like Im going anywhere anyway 🤣)
@@tombuck I've been having a blast recording just random things with it so far, I do need to up my boom arm game though. I don't have a Neewer, but an innogear, which looks like the PSA-1 but feels way more stiff.
oh my god right before I start the video I saw an ad for the gator frameworks boom arm and now out of nowhere i am seeing it that's an amazing coincidence
That's pretty bizarre haha! Since making this video, I've been noticing them a lot more in people's videos and podcasts. I guess I just wasn't aware of it before 🤷🏻♂️
Thank you for giving an honest review on all three of the boom arms. You don’t realize how much your followers appreciate the information. I’ve bought things from your assessment of equipment. I’m a beginning podcaster. Still trying to decide what camera to buy.
I really appreciate that! These videos are always just my opinion, but I try and keep them as objective and down-to-earth as possible. Good luck with your podcast!
Wow you were so right. I bought the Gator Framework and a better clamp thinking I would get the best of both worlds. It worked but I didn't like the limitations on the rotation at the end of the arm. I bought the PSA1 to compare and it immediately got me with build quality and ease of positioning and how compact it can fold up. Its simple and it works great. Thanks for the in depth review!
Glad it helped! I have the Blue Compass to my wife, but she got tired of it and I traded her for one of the PSA1's and she immediately loved it. It's a great arm!
Bought the Frameworks a year ago because the Rode was on backorder for months. Very happy with it, would buy another. My clamp doesn't move. The flat springs are strong on this thing though, so it doesn't appear to be as easily adjustable as your Rode arm. Takes some force to adjust. Great video!
Wow thank you so much for this video. I was actually gonna buy the Blue Compass over the PSA1 but you pointed out the main problem with it. You’ve helped me out a ton :)
You come close to what product designers mostly forget to take in account, the hufterproof rating. Great review on handling the products and its quirks.
OK Boomer! That settles it, getting another PSA1, was thinking of the Blue Compass, and definitely don't want to spend get the Yellowtec Mika! (which I would get if it weren't so darn expensive!) www.yellowtec.com/mika.html
Ok I literally L'd out L at the boomer joke. Bravo, bravo. Those Mika arms are pricey, but it looks like you could really go crazy with building a custom setup.
@@tombuck I was waiting all video for you calling yourself a boomer 🤣 - it was a great comparison and great to see the pain points for the different booms!
I've honestly learned so much since first arriving here to watch a Podmic video once 'upun' a time. And I bought three, with a Rodecaster Pro, as a result (fourth pending, per aesthetic necessity). These days, I still learn a lot, but I admit I almost tune in as much, just for the cacophony of counting how many times you try (and mostly succeed) to be punny. It's a (mostly) productive and always positive part of my day.
Trying is what counts the most right? 😁 Thanks for sticking around so long! Feel free to send ideas my way if there’s something you think would be helpful for where you’re at in your podcast journey now.
Thank you so much for this in-depth comparison video. I almost got a Blue Compass but thought to myself: "I already try my best to have the camera focus on me, not my mic or boom arm". I prefer functionality over looks. Granted, the Blue Compass looks gorgeous but I think the angles you get with the PSA1 is a lot more useful to me. Thanks again. I subscribed to your channel and liked the video
Normally, just for the sake of heigt I use a C stand for overhead shots, but can mount a ball head or use a 3/8inch to 1/4 20 adapter to mount a camera 👍
@@tombuck Amazing, for all the non technical or just straight up dummies - a video on that would be amazing! If you haven't done one already! Love you channel man ☺️
I really appreciate reviews like this. I was originally going to buy the Blue Compass just because it was expensive, and I wanted something top tier. However, after watching many reviews I have come to find out the Rode PSA1 is actually a much better engineered mic arm. Hence saving me some money because it is cheaper than the Blue Compass but works perfectly right out of the box.
I have found a great middle-ground for me. I use the Tonor T30. It's got great reach, and the clamp is huge, providing a headphone holder on the bottom. It is definitely more of a retro-vibe, closer in appearance to the PSA1. In fact, on the T30 (and its smaller cousin, the T20), the bottom section consists of 3 beams in a canteliever system. The arm is solid and stays exactly where I want it whether I extend it out far, leave the mic up high when not in use, or have it in the optimal speaking position just off of my mouth. I use mine with a Behringer XM8500 dynamic mic, but it will supposedly even hold the Blue Yeti, one of the heaviest mics around. The T20 is $40, and the T30 is $60, generally, and they include the arm, wire wraps for routing the XLR or USB cable, a foam windscreen, and a pop filter. I can't recommend them enough for the value.
I may have missed it but I think you missed a crucial juxtaposition between the plastic and metal boom arm for the rare occasions when those of us have to choose which is best suited for use in a place that's not grounded. Many metal boom arms cause slight feedback and tinny sounds especially when attached to a desk with metal thus a plastic boom arm is best to overcome that issue. That aside, thank you for another great video.
You can actually mount a cable inside the rode arm. Though it is necessary to remove one of the connectors of the xlr cable to route it through the channel.
100% Agree. I had the Blue Compass paired with a yeti for 2 years and all I did every day was adjust it. Eventually the plastic tensioning nuts, broke off and it became unusable. I replaced both the boom arm and mic with a Rode PSA1 and Rode Procaster. Have not had a problem since. Too bad for the Gator frameworks arm, I liked the Big tensioning knobs which are what the Compass needed. They definitely need to work on the desk mount and beef it up.
Oh no, that's a frustrating experience for sure! I contacted Rode's support and they sent me a PSA1 desk clamp to use with the Gator arm, and now it works great.
I own a few PSA1s, and I’ve had a few people ask me if they can mount them on IKEA tables. And it’s yes, sort of. Ikea’s desks are often hollow, and can break up if you screw the clamp too tight. But if you can put something between the bottom of the clamp and the underside of the desk to distribute the pressure, you shouldn’t have any problem. Try something solid and strong - I’m using a dead 2.5” hard drive, but most folks won’t have one of them lying around, so I’d suggest something made of wood, thick plastic or metal, and at least around the size of a pack of cards. The top of the clamp is large and padded, so it should be fine.
I love the old hard drive as a mounting solution option! These clamps are definitely tough enough to damage a cheap table. My old Home Depot work benches work great!
I have the Blue, I used a plyers to tighten the middle screw to tighten the hinge. but... the MI Mount-it boom arm is also great with a good entry/mid level pricing.

I've seen people do that and I've heard that I've heard that the cable soldering required is pretty simple.
@@tombuck Simple if you have the tools and know what you are doing 😉. Or for us people who are not technically capable, you pay $24 for your local goto electronic equipment providers to do it for you lol.
After its done, it looks great... might be a next video idea for you.
Grateful for the personal response
This is one of the best breakdowns ive seen. Fantastic
Thank you! It means a lot to hear that 💥💪

Good video!
I tried to give you a lot to grade this week. 😁
All the comments about the Blue Compass are
correct , I use a HyperX microphone with the Blue compass and it sucks constantly trying to tighten it. You really need a pair of pliers to get it to stay where you want it, but you then run the risk of cracking the cheap plastic turn knobs.
I’m ready to spring into action.
Nice.
Ok, Boomer! 😬
Why dont you share such video link pls?
Ever thought of trying monitor arms? There's a colleague of yours who calls himself DSLR Shooter who demonstrates this rather cleverly. They take much more weight, they come with built-in cable management, they can be pushed out of the way when not in use and they only need a little modification - theoretically.
Yes, I love Caleb's videos! I've been watching him for like 10 years. I've definitely thought about doing a setup like his, but I have all my current arms, so I don't want to be wasteful.
Thanks Tom,
I purchased a PSA1.
Sweetwater is awesome. I'm pretty sure their service is unbeatable!
Now I see why the rode podmic has been on back order and I can't get one for the last month.
Great straightforward presentation and review, Thank-you
i love how the blue looks so much but it not staying at a certain angle makes me not get it thanks
Perhaps the best review I've seen so far!
Thank you! 🙏
I thought my Blue Compass was broken!! Thank you 🙏🏾😂😂
It is broken from a design perspective.
Dude...
just found your video while looking for boom stands.
Never owned anything but my PSA1, until now, I didn't know how good I actually had it
Now I can't stop smiling when I move my microphone around, and it stays exactly where I put it :D
You don't know what you've got til it's gone 😉
Agreed. And the beauty of a parallelogram must be in the eye of the beholder. I think the PSA-1 is the best, no fuss, home option.
Man has 3 podmics and then there’s me dreaming of having one
Thank You for review, Tom! I bought PSA1 for my MV7 after reading customers reviews about compass.. It's simple and solid.
I use that same combo for all of my online classes and it works really well. The MV7 is a great sounding mic!
The Blue is working great for my wife’s setup with a higher positioned mic, but yeah, I love the Rode.
Thanks for the kind words! And hey, there's nothing wrong with having a rotating lineup of mics if you have the budget for it 😁
I think that people don't understand how to adjust the Blue Compass.
I love it.
I tried that with mine, but still now luck. It's a great tip though and maybe someone else will be able to get their working with your advice!
Pun Comments: that boom ARM pun was "booming!" The brand name puns never get old... The tension jokes are outSTANDing... 🤣🤣🤣
Real life (not pun related) question... Which one of those would you say is the most mobile friendly. (Its not like Im going anywhere anyway 🤣)
Probably the Rode. You will need some sort of strap to keep it folded so the springs don't pop it open, but it gets pretty compact.
@@tombuck is the psa1 best for hitting the rode?
It's because of you I bought my first Podmic. It just came in last night and I fell in love with it.
I'm so glad to hear it! I think it's an outstanding mic.
@@tombuck I've been having a blast recording just random things with it so far, I do need to up my boom arm game though. I don't have a Neewer, but an innogear, which looks like the PSA-1 but feels way more stiff.
dam those puns are smooth
😎
oh my god right before I start the video I saw an ad for the gator frameworks boom arm and now out of nowhere i am seeing it that's an amazing coincidence
That's pretty bizarre haha! Since making this video, I've been noticing them a lot more in people's videos and podcasts. I guess I just wasn't aware of it before 🤷🏻♂️
holy smokes, all the puns are on point
Thank you for giving an honest review on all three of the boom arms. You don’t realize how much your followers appreciate the information. I’ve bought things from your assessment of equipment. I’m a beginning podcaster. Still trying to decide what camera to buy.
I really appreciate that! These videos are always just my opinion, but I try and keep them as objective and down-to-earth as possible. Good luck with your podcast!
i want to let everyone know..spend the money RODE PSA1 is the best boom arm.
have to disagree, I've tested mine for a few weeks now, and i'm not happy.
@@TheLazyP same for me. For some reason, over time, the metal started to bend and now makes insane squeeky noices. Really annoying...
Mans got a mic for each stand, money aint a question no more
The true measure of wealth 🎩
I’m not going to lie, I hate that I can’t get my compass situated where I want it.
I took a piece of paracord and tied the arm down cause mine never gets low enough.
I LOVE THIS SWEATER ON YOU DARLING! 😘😘
Thank you! 🥰
Thank you very much, you helped me a lot!!!
I'm really happy to hear that!
That was Boomiful 🤪
Bought the Frameworks a year ago because the Rode was on backorder for months. Very happy with it, would buy another. My clamp doesn't move. The flat springs are strong on this thing though, so it doesn't appear to be as easily adjustable as your Rode arm. Takes some force to adjust. Great video!
I really like it overall! Super sturdy.
Sticking with my PSA1’s
Wow thank you so much for this video. I was actually gonna buy the Blue Compass over the PSA1 but you pointed out the main problem with it. You’ve helped me out a ton :)
I'm happy to hear it! Hopefully you get what's right for you.
I think the PSA1 is the rode I’m gonna stay on 😂😂 damn these jokes
You come close to what product designers mostly forget to take in account, the hufterproof rating. Great review on handling the products and its quirks.
I've never heard of the hufterproof rating, but you're 100% right. Especially when I was using equipment with students, that was a _huge_ factor.
What's that link
I've honestly learned so much since first arriving here to watch a Podmic video once 'upun' a time. And I bought three, with a Rodecaster Pro, as a result (fourth pending, per aesthetic necessity). These days, I still learn a lot, but I admit I almost tune in as much, just for the cacophony of counting how many times you try (and mostly succeed) to be punny. It's a (mostly) productive and always positive part of my day.
Trying is what counts the most right? 😁
Thanks for sticking around so long! Feel free to send ideas my way if there’s something you think would be helpful for where you’re at in your podcast journey now.
Awesome video. Love all the angles you are getting for your reviews. The extra work does not go unnoticed!
Thank you! I had to call in the probe lens for a few of these.
Extra helpful vid, one of the few where I got the impression you actually thoroughly tried all options. Also, you seem like a nice guy.
Thank you! I really appreciate this. 🙏
Soooooo good! Thanks for a thorough look at the little things that matter in selecting a boom arm for the long-term.
The little things can make the biggest difference for sure.
Great demonstration and review of all three podcast arms. Thank you very much for this information!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video round up Tom. You kept my atTension for the entire video. Looking forward to the next one.
Haha, thank you!
very detail oriented. touches all the real user concerns. great job
Thank you! I really appreciate the kind words 🙏
The psa1 has complete internal cable routing. You just have to cut the XLR cable route it through and solder it together again.
Cable can be routed internally through the Rode PSA1 too! However you have to clip the plug off to slide it through, then re-solder. ugh
Tom you are literally the best when it comes to these equipment reviews!
Thank you! That really means a lot to me.
This is exactly what I was looking for! thank you so much! Awesome video.
I'm glad to hear that! Hopefully it helps you find the arm that works best for your setup 👍
Thank you! The PSA 1 is far and away the most functional. 👍
I’ve tried a bunch of these and was unhappy with all of them.
The Gator is a beast and perfect for the SM7B. I find it to be a perfect combination.
I'm so glad it's working out for you!
I will be going with the compass. Great review helped me decide.
Glad to hear it! Hope you enjoy the arm!
Tom, I needed this video right now. I knew you would have it too before I even looked. Thank you!
I'd love to see a video of you showing how to use camera's on these boom arms, what connectors to get, top down/ birds eye video etc etc!
Love you channel man ☺️
Nice "Office" reference in the description. I appreciate your attention to detail.
I wondered if anyone would notice 😁
I got mine RODE PSA1, thanks for recommendation Tom!
Woo hoo! Glad you're liking it.
Glad it was helpful! The Rode arms are tried and true. 💪
This perfectly answered my question of which to get. Thanks!
So glad it helped!
Ahh, I've seen the T30 in other people's setups but I didn't know what it was. Thanks for pointing it out!
That’s a good point that I didn’t even think of. I’ve always looked for metal arms for durability 🤔
Built in xlr cable is a no go I’m afraid. I expected more from the blue compass, well now I know I made the right choice getting the psa1.
Nailed it! The puns were not w wasted Tom!
Thanks as always
Enjoyed that one
Haha, I’m so glad to hear it! 🙌
You can actually mount a cable inside the rode arm. Though it is necessary to remove one of the connectors of the xlr cable to route it through the channel.
I’ve seen people do this and it looks very slick 👍
I’m still jealous of those desks. I’ve been trying to find something similar here but no luck. I don’t really want to have to make one myself…
I have the Blue, I used a plyers to tighten the middle screw to tighten the hinge. but... the MI Mount-it boom arm is also great with a good entry/mid level pricing.
5:40 - I had the same droop issue. You just need to tighten the plastic lock at the base. Worked for me. Looked it in place while outstretched.
