These are the Senators and Representatives who objected to the certification of the election results. The votes were already recounted in the contested states and the results of this election were already litigated in over 60 lawsuits which Republican judges and judges appointed by Trump himself ruled against. Despite all of this and even after the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, these Senators and Representatives still chose to object to the election results. By doing so they have violated their oath of office to uphold the U.S. Constitution and are accomplices to the insurrection. They need to be removed from office. They attacked our Democracy. I'm stunned that a supposedly educated politician like Josh Hawley (R) Senator from Missouri would use a word like irregardless (@5:46 min.). Irregardless is a word sometimes used in place of regardless or irrespective, which has caused controversy since the early twentieth century, though the word appeared in print as early as 1795. Most dictionaries list it as non-standard or incorrect usage and recommend that "regardless" should be used instead.
These people were as wrong as they were deluded but we make a grave mistake if we do not pay attention to why they feel so disenfranchised. Can Congress tackle meaningful campaign finance reform, and have the courage to eliminate gerry-mandering?
