Thank you very much for posting this information, what I don't understand is just about every boxer does many reps of sit ups usually in the hundreds sometimes thousands of repetitions, seems like a foundational exercise when I went to my local boxing gym that is what we do for the most part during work floor work and very similar exercises, if they are so bad as a lot of people are claiming why is this so?
Hi Edward, 100% correct and as mentioned in the video, they CAN possibly be bad for you if you do them wrong and you do not have enough core strength yet. So these boxers normally have very strong cores and to them a sit-up is nothing and if you look at them doing it they don't have much of bend either. Most people use very bad form, don't have strong enough core to perform them properly and that is when the issues start. In short, there are studies that pretty much shows that every kind of exercise could potentially be bad for you :) So as long as you have a good program in place, don't overdo it and make sure that you are strong enough as you progress from one exercise to a next and you have enough recovery time you will be just fine!
thanks it is really interesting
Thanks!
