I feel like from 6:33:00, there are two endings one after the other. The first one in which the Destined One accepts the headband is the bad ending and the second one in which he wears the Taoism cloak and the headband is not visible is the good ending. The animated cutscene right afterward is the memory of Wukong going backward from the moment he fought Erlang in the prologue back to the moment he was about to wreck havoc in the heaven. At this point, there is a subtle transition in the color of the animated cutscene, going from brownish to blueish. I think it indicates that the memory ended and the presence is on. Further scene, we can see there is no yougai in the cave but only their weapons, meaning they are all dead or long gone. The new Wukong then proceeds to fight heaven again.
The last scene is wukong, after journey to the west succeed, he challenge heaven once more. Thats why in the very beginning he 1 vs many gods and defeated into stone. The destined one keep his way to taoism, he just got memory from mind's relic
@@kwonnayeon2718 I think the last scene where the colour tone shifts to blue and also there's no one in the cave where he does a toast might actually be the present because the game ends after that indicating we are going to battle heaven if there's a sequel to the game

At the start of the game we are shown 5 titans and one is the biggest. but the biggest thing at the end of the game was nowhere to be seen I hoped Wukong would fight him too but there wasn't
Erlang was the only warrior who could best Wukong in combat, but the catch there is that Erlang couldn't actually hurt him either.. So IDK if that's really considered being bested. Wukong just wasn't able to take Erlang down in the story. It was never truly elaborated whether or not Wukong was just not physically able to do it at all, or wasn't able to do it with the amount of power he was willing to demonstrate. Technically everyone there aside from Erlang would get easily backhanded by Wukong. That's why he said he was a monkey of merit and only he could challenge him.
"How many bosses do we want in our game?" "Yes." Also, not super familiar with the original Journey to the West, but the in-game journal entries show just how dense the mythology all is, right down to the relationships between all these different characters and enemies: like the first Tiger Vanguard you face is the son of the previous one that Sun Wukong originally faced (maybe?) while the Mad Tiger is the son who was cast out and went mad. Presentation is superb throughout too, right from the opening where Wukong rides out on his cloud to face Erlang and the Heavenly Kings.
Someone explained it at another video, in bad ending the destined one cannot retrieve the final relic which is wukong memories, thus he accept the headband. But in the good ending where we defeat erlang, the memories of wukong actually sealed by erlang in his third eye. Therefore in this ending before the headband got into his head, he reminiscing wukong memories where he swear to be free from his headband to erlang implying erlang conspiring with wukong to help him free and thus after reminiscing his memories he most likely wont accept that headband
@@Ko_cece1234 It's kind of hard to put together with it not making sense somewhere but yea that sounds about right. The monkey shouldn't have put it on either way... I was thinking it would be sort of an interesting twist for those who don't know the story, or what the headband was for, and they might see it as yet some final piece needed to make the chosen one a new Wukong or something. What I don't get is the old monkey wanting to put it on him either way. I don't see the point in Wukong letting some chosen one go through all of that just to have his essence transferred into a new body that would also carry the headband.
