I feel like from 6:33:00, there are two endings one after the other. The first one in which the Destined One accepts the headband is the bad ending and the second one in which he wears the Taoism cloak and the headband is not visible is the good ending. The animated cutscene right afterward is the memory of Wukong going backward from the moment he fought Erlang in the prologue back to the moment he was about to wreck havoc in the heaven. At this point, there is a subtle transition in the color of the animated cutscene, going from brownish to blueish. I think it indicates that the memory ended and the presence is on. Further scene, we can see there is no yougai in the cave but only their weapons, meaning they are all dead or long gone. The new Wukong then proceeds to fight heaven again.

Actually that's the reason why the book is never finished, Sun Wukong is actually a Sun Wukong-Avatar While Sun Wukong Para-Buddha is another In chapters 8-14 it is established that Tang has to do it at least 10 times but always with Sun Wukong, but it is not known how many times they failed so it is not known what happened to avatar-Wukong. So when you read them the first time it is only as an avatar wukong, when you read it as Buddha Wukong the perspective changes but for that you have to read a couple of extra sutras so this game adapts one of the failed journeys. And well, it is also the reason why history is infinite since there are infinite Buddhas of the past, present and future all managing avatars for a story.
