Since there is no inner space, why is it so big? Also, couldn't they make the missiles shoot straight up and then turn toward their target negating the non-moving AA battery problem similar to what they did for the Sabre Firebird?
Since I am sure that CiG will not rework this and reduce its size, the only way they could make it viable is by taking away the ability of the Nova's driver to use the gun. Given what they did to the Corsair they might do this, however the Nova also needs a Hercules to carry it so the Nova might be safe.
If they want ground battles to happen, they need to allow us to carry vehicles in more smaller ships. You don't take a Carrack to drop a land vehicle, maybe a C2, but this becomes the only option (on top of being a huge target). I have a feeling CIG is playing with the doors and vehicle metrics in purpose so we can't bring vehicles with most ships, but then it makes said vehicles completely useless, and the game much less fun overall.
I can see a reason for ground vehicles like this, but only as a part of a "swarm" of small ships to take over an area. These, and all ground assault vehicles, are only viable in a large group assault.
What I don't understand, is that we have hover tech in the game. Hover Bikes, the nomad.... We should have hover tanks and I think the storms would be a perfect fit for that and they could be smaller. Basically like a light hovercraft with guns/missiles on it.
not sure i like the external compartments, would be better to have internal. I want to be ready for anything before stepping out of a vehicle. Thanks for the review!
I'm curious how players are going to use vehicles versus having them in game primarily for NPCs to use. Maybe base building will bring about land defense
Carrack and Corsair can fit the Storm but not the Nova. We definitely still need some sort of light tank, something the size of an Ursa but tracked and with some more firepower.
@@Stormyy6310 Yes it does, in fact i have the Storm AA inside the Corsair right now. Reminds me i have to log on to unload and properly store it before the .2 releases lol
Honestly disappointed in how they did ground vehicles, especially military based ones. They should be able to have much larger shields and weapons, they don't have the quantum drive, but could have a similar power supply. Or at least they could, but they don't. Oh well.
I can't ever see buying a Storm, even just for aUEC for fun. It has two major flaws. First, there aren't enough ships that can carry it, I agree, it'd be perfect from the Valkyrie. Second, if you're damaged, you exit from the front. Not good design.
I don't see why have a Storm with dropships being a thing in game. Even if you have anti-air weapons on site it would be easier to just get rid of them with carpet bombing or tonks.
Im sorry. Why does the Anvil Valkyrie, a drop ship mind you, need a tank? And more importantly why does an Anvil Carrack need one? Are you exploring in the mirror universe, or what?! 🤔
This vehicle would be infinitely better if it were 1/2 or 1/3rd the size
Or even if it fit in more vehicles (i.e. Valkyrie)!
Very much agree with that!
It killed the STORM for me when I found out it wouldn't fit inside a VALKYRIE Drop ship...

Great job with this series. Thank you!
I like to think the Storm would be a perfect solo yolo vehicle for defending a homestead once we get base building
I’m glad I watched this video. I love this mini tank, but it is surprisingly underpowered.
Almost there mate
Love this tank, just wish it was a bit smaller and a bit more firepower but still cool vehicle.

Agree with you on all points on this one.
Interesting vehicle series. Might even acquire one sometime down the road.
This for sure is something i would try to buy ingame.

Love the look of the storm.
I could see a storm and a storm AA being fast movers to support two Nova Tanks.
Amazing idea for a ground vehicle, but the gun needs customization options IMO.
I always wished this was a smaller tank, something that could fit in the oft forgotten Valkyrie.
I had the AA variant. It was very useful. A shame the missiles are not always efficient this days .

Whoooop! One more before bed lol. I keep thinking about melting this tank ..
The baseline for armored ground combat. The mobile worker!!!
I found out while getting harassed by an NPC that the storm laser turret automatically fallows a locked on target.
You're doing it, almost there!
Rocking forward at warp speed! Look at you go!
Looks more interesting than the tonk, but i prefer it over this. Storm does fit more ships so its kinda better.
Yeah if they do come out with a game mode like wing commander that's a big tank battle board then it could be cool.
I just love the tumbril aesthetic

The Prowler has a Hover Tank mode

I feel like all vehicles are going to have a size rework before 1.0 so they can better fit in ships.
The idea of a weapons platform like that with a single gun seems strange. I think it should at least have twin guns.
I like this tank🎉
I'm curious how players are going to use vehicles versus having them in game primarily for NPCs to use. Maybe base building will bring about land defense
Such a pretty thing for a tank. Too bad hardly anybody can carry one.
I agree with all your points, but personally I find it no higher than a 5.
It's great to take out turrets at bunkers and supply depots.
I would miss an interior being so big.
Wonder how well the storm would fit in my ironclad 🧐
The base Storm is the consolation prize for those ships which can't fit a Nova.
I'm sorry to tell you this but there isn't a single ship that's able to carry a storm but not a nova, since the storm is so unecessarily fat
Carrack and Corsair can fit the Storm but not the Nova. We definitely still need some sort of light tank, something the size of an Ursa but tracked and with some more firepower.
@@Random_Banshee the storm doesn't fit in the corsair, ti barely fits in the Carrack though

@@Random_Banshee Oh the Storm AA could fit I could see that but not the normal variant since the turret makes it too tall
so many video's

It's too big for what it is imo
Missed lti opportunity. 😂
Edit: errrrrrrtttt.... Wait, 7?!?😂
Don't know why bit this gives me mad max feel lol or more command and conquer go nod lol
I was very disappointed in the storm. It had potential but yeah way too wide and the top turret should retract more
It should be much narrower, not sure why it is so beefy. It would be nice to put it in say a Freelancer Max.
This one is so going to be obsolete when mechs are coming

I want Carrack
Wow you are pumping them out
in my mind the storm is for animal hunting 😅
I’ll buy in game but definitely not with real money as I agree the size is off and it’s way to wide.
I found a hidden Elon Musk at 11:16.
Lmao its a dev not elon lol
Nice little thing ....
Speedy bang bang! But far too big 😢
Lets sub this awesome boi up!
So, its a mini-tank, but larger ... not compelling, as when I can afford a ship that can hold it, I can just get a tank instead.
It moves differently than a tank but yeah
Im sorry. Why does the Anvil Valkyrie, a drop ship mind you, need a tank?

I just like a lot the aesthetic of them but... unfortunately useless to my gameplay!
0:32 I subscribed but im not a "human subscriber" so i geuss it dont count👽🛸
Now, why did you read my name like that? lol Jk
At least it looks cool lol
Too big for what it is, would ratber use other vehicles for what it does.

Land vehicles need work. They don’t ride well and you can’t navigate with them.
