@@TANIL-X oh well, I am going to hope it lets me abuse base building mechanics and I truly think ships like this with bespoke uses (pioneer, the big rsi mining ship) these are pay to win ships because their functionality is locked behind a paywall
That small room you walked into thinking it was the armory, is not. Just a suit locker room with storage for engineers. The armory of the ship is on the starboard side in the wing section. Can't miss it, because a gun firing range is there too!
Here's the big issue. You're showcasing the Idris-M as the one you're able to buy for $1k. Issue is. You can't. Unless you got it long ago or buy the $10k pack. You're buying the Idris-P which you're not able to install the Railgun. And the turret sizes are much smaller since it'll be a civilian version.
You can install the rail gun, buying the idris P gives you access to the idris M after market upgrade kit: £300 is to buy that separately after the fat stacks required for the Idris
Ok so I love the vid but here some things as owner of a Idris M and Idris K 1. Idris M is currently only available in the Praetorian and Legatus packs (15k and 48k respectively) 2. The Idris P with the upgrade changes it to an Idris K not a Idris M. The Idris K has a laser beam versus rail gun and honestly I'm not sure if it's like the ion or an actual beam weapon.
"We received a lot of feedback surrounding the upgradeability of the Idris-P, and a desire for more information about if the Idris-P will be able to fully match an Idris-M via upgrading in-game. We can now confirm that we are planning to eventually add manufacturer shipyards (capital ship dealers) in-game which will help facilitate this conversion. For example, there will be an opportunity to take your Idris-P into a major authorized Aegis shipyard, where they can perform a conversion to an Idris-M for a substantial in-game fee."
Good vid. One bug here. The S10 railgun is not in the Idris-P or upgrade kit. It's only in the M model and could only be obtained by in game store in the future or the complete pack
The next sell of the Idris-P will be at IAE towards the end of November. There will be a schedule released prior to the event which will list what days what manufacturer will be on. You'll want to look for Aegis day. The Idris-P along with other capital and rare ships are hull limited. Meaning very few are sold at a time, so you'll want to find the wave times for the allotments. These generally go in 3 waves 8 hours apart. So, if you don't get one during the first wave, you have two more chances. If you're buying one warbond IE: all new money and no credit. They go for $1,300 and take awhile to sell out. If you plan on using store credit, they are $1,500 and you'll want to be VERY fast, as they sell out in just a few seconds.
If you are going to pay to win, do it now. All ships (besides the ever expanding class called "starter ships") are promised to not be sold after official game launch. So, act now. You only have (insert two - ten year release date guess here) to buy this ship.
@TheDestroyer702 Say two players fight in space, an aurora and an Idris. The Idris will win. It's paying for advantages, that will be used to win space battles, territory, general power and control over whatever competitive aspect of the game relative to having a better, more expensive ship. Compare it to buying more advanced late game weapons in a shooter. It's paid advantages that leads to winning all sorts of things. And if you are the white knight type who ignores that fact, I'm not going to argue the nuance. It is what it is... if it doesn't stop at launch like they promised, it'll be very bad for the game, doing much worse damage than even the game launch territory land rush that's going to happen (huge paid advantages to win that land rush going to orgs who have paid for large expensive fleets, as compared to orgs with starter ships).
@@thorns I’d sadly still argue that pay to win in this game does not exist for one simple reason… all ships, if any size, suffer one common flaw: the pilot. All you need to do it kill them. I have years of experience in the game of pirating on board other ships, there’s even a video on my channel where I break into an 890 jump and kill the people on board. First and foremost this game is a first person shooter, and luckily, those aspects control the rest of the game. An Idris vs an Aurora is an unfair fight, but it isn’t a realistic argument. A single person in an idris is going to do nothing to an aurora.
@Stewey The pilot matters, of course. But just imagine that this was an e sports game. Would it be acceptable for some players in the competition to pay thousands of extra money to start with extra, larger, stronger, faster equipment. Obviously, that would be a pay to win scenario because all things being equal, the person who wins whatever the conflict is, would be the person who paid for the most advantage. But regardless if we agree or not, CIG is going to stop selling the ships on game launch for a reason. What do you think that reason is?
@@thorns it’s not the same sport mate. Cap vs cap is the same sport. It’s like comparing formula E to F1. The cars are designed to do different things and the costs of massive compared to eachother. It’s not easier to spent £1k and press a button to win. If you’re a single player, an Idris is going to do you no good mate. You can’t effectively run a ship this big on your own.
No, i really don't like the whole premise of "building a ship interior like a fps level". For one, it completely break immersion, as where in a believable ship you would have clear floorplan with intuitive navigation, an fps level is just a maze with no logical placement that risks confusing its own users if they are in a hurry. Refueling one will run you upwards of 1.4 million UEC or more, rearming and repair, no better. Better be able to make those big BIG bucks or this thing is a hangar queen.
So, what you're saying is that you need to do pretty much ANY current end-game / max rep content and you'll have zero issues - eg. 15-20mil an hour doing ERTs/Assassinations. Real talk though, seeing how many Beggers exist in the verse I imagine there ARE people contemplating this purchase completely unable to maintain and upkeep it.

I mean, I spent probably a good 5-6k on warhammer 40k stuff alone. Probably spent 1500 over time just to have the privilege of playing world of warcraft ( subscriptions baby) I'm sure other people have a "hobby" of sorts that just sucks thr money right out of their bank account. I have seen people spend $400 for a 3 hour baseball game, thousands for bigger tournaments, thousands just to fly somewhere to see a race or a concert. Thousands on makeup and accessories that do nothing more than have a name attached. 1200 for a phone that really isn't any more fancy than the last year's models. It's a thing, money wasting, our little bird brains can't help it
