Last time I saw UNA was at a showing of the movie JUDY at CURZON MAYFAIR. We had a nice long chat about the old days .Her sight was failing and she couldn't see to paint anymore ..These DEREK sketches are a great anti depressant this CHRISTMAS PANTO is my favourite..

As a "Yank" who lived in the UK for a couple of years one of the things I miss most is these brilliant sketch shows. Catherine Tate, Steven Coogan and little Britain are some of the funniest, irreverent and hysterical shows I have ever seen. Catherine Tate is a true genius

The worst thing Catherine Tate ever did was not doing more of this show.
Wouldn't be allowed now. The woke would have been offended about 100 times in that sketch alone. Im surprised they haven't cancelled her 😭

It's the best line in the sketch.
Madge in Benidorm used the same line several years later and funnily enough both shows had Derren Litten as script writer! I guess that's also why Gavin appears in both shows.

Derek obviously expected to be cast as Prince Charming as can be seen from his expression when Gavin gets the part. Also note the Freudian slip when he refers to Leonard's role as that of Baron Hard-on.
Derek is certainly my favourite character of hers. Absolutely brilliant.

Would have been great if Troy had been with Gavin. Since Derren Litten co-wrote this and also wrote Benidorm, I wouldn't be surprised if it was this sketch that got him the part in Benidorm. Other than the characters surname he is exactly the same!
