I started going going gray at 19. Now I'm in my late 30s and about 50% gray. Since I'm a natural blonde, the gray blends in and gives me a silvery tone to my hair, which I think looks pretty nice. With your dark hair, you might end up with salt and pepper hair later on. It's such a pretty combo and would look fabulous on you.
Many condolences to you. It's so hard to lose our fur-babies. We lost 3 of our 4 in the past year...so very emotional. Love Dermott's portrait! Very regal 🐭👑
I also got my first grays just last year at 26! Wasn't unexpected for me though, since my mom started getting them at 16. Stopped plucking them right after my wedding. I don't think I'm going to dye mine either. I've always admired older women who leave their hair long and gray. Also, Pretty Shepherd is an inspiration to those of us who go gray at a younger age.
Haha be happy with your first grey hair.. I think 1/5 of my head is already grey and I'm 30. And I'm not ready to embrace them! Lovely to see how happy you are, being married. I'm also a newlywed. I know the feeling ❤️😘. Enjoy!
Such a lovely video! I love when you show the cooking. I also found my first white hair (gingers go white, not grey) at 32 a few days ago. I got kind of excited because I think it looks pretty. I’m so sorry to hear about your ratties. I know how much joy they brought, and the hollow they can leave behind.
I am so sorry for the loss of your boys, I know how heartbreaking it can be to lose our fur or even feather babies. On the other hand, you’re glowing! Summer suits you really well, hope you enjoy the warm weather for many weeks
I got my first grey hair quite a few years ago and since then I've only ever had less than 10 at once. They turned up but never spread! I wouldn't mind if they did, I quite like them. I call them shinys because it feels kinder! ☺️
I had my first gray at 13. Now I'm about 35% gray and looking forward to more! I'm lucky enough to have thick clusters amongst the scattered gray and I'm loving it!
I think I was 22 or 23 when I noticed my first grey hair. I was actually super excited- I really love the look of grey hair, personally. Also, grey hair means being able to put funky colours in my hair without needing to bleach it (my hair is a simile darkness to Lucy’s). My dad was completely grey by 30, so I was hoping I’d be the same. But while I got my first few greys early, they weren’t at the front (basically where you’d put a headband), and the greying slowed down significantly. To the point that while I’m 34 now, I’ve only just started getting any greys at the front in the last two or three years. That headband though- it’s full on salt and pepper. But it’s still just a headband. If I pull my hair straight back, all you see are the few grey hairs I have at the front, with no evidence of the many that are hiding an inch to two inches back from my hairline. But as the greys have started to speed up in the last two years or so, I hope they continue to take over, as fast as they can. It might be unusual, but like I said- I really adore grey hair. It’s such a pretty colour on its own, all shiny and silvery, and it would allow for me to play around with colour more without damaging my hair with bleach. I also think that women just look banging with grey hair. It brings out the complexion (regardless of which type of complexion, I think that lovely silvery grey suits everybody), and I think it makes women look distinguished and wise. Basically, I think women can be “silver foxes” just as much as any man! And I think looking forward to things like that also helps to deal with the awful emphasis society puts on youth for women. We’re programmed to fear ageing. And that’s just not okay. Ageing is awesome! It means another trip around the sun, life lessons learned, love given and received, knowledge and wisdom gained. That’s not something we should ever be afraid of. And you know, there’s a massive sexist double standard between men and women when it comes to ageing, so I think we should do whatever we can to level that out. My one little thing is looking forward to greying hair. Because even that one little thing has really helped to change my perspective on ageing. I started to notice my first wrinkles only a couple of weeks ago. And instead of being freaked out, I thought it was kinda cool. I still take care of my skin- I wear sunscreen every day (especially important as an Australian), I do use retinoids (though mostly for brightness and evenness of complexion), and skincare is just a nice relaxing, me time sort of hobby. I also love learning about the science of skincare (completely shameless plug of Lab Muffin Beauty Science here on RUclips). But while I do take good care of my skin and use different actives that often tout being “anti ageing”, that’s not actually my goal. I just want smooth, bright, healthy skin. Anyways, apologies for the essay on how we think of ageing. But I do think we should put effort into changing how we think about ageing. Finding your first grey hair should be kinda joyous, imo. So congrats on your first grey hair, Lucy! That’s pretty awesome.
I love your take on this. I find it outraging that it's almost expected for women to colour their hair once it goes grey. Grey/silver hair looks great! I wanted it when I was little, and to this day I'll embrace it when the time comes.
Oh my gosh, I am so sorry to hear about your babies. I know how much they meant to you, and what an important part of your family they were. *Hugs to you*
I got my first grey hair when I was 19. But I plucked it. Then I got a few more in my mid 20s and kept plucking them. I'm in my mid 30s now and just decided to stop plucking them and now I have a few that are just sprinkled in. (Hard to see in some light though because I have natural highlights during the summer.)
Im 29 and I noticed my first gray/white hairs this past year. I have one in the middle of my hair and a couple by my temples. 2020 was definitely stressful.
I started going grey at 24 but much to my surprise it doesn't happen as quickly as people make out. I expected after finding the first one that I'd be fully grey in a year but I'm a few months off 30 now and it's still just salt&pepper at the top so I wouldn't worry too much about going grey overnight. I'm personally quite excited to get my full grey on :)
This reminded me I also need to bring out the summer clothes. Super relaxing video! By the way, I keep seeing the pretty houseplants in your videos. Would you ever consider doing a houseplant tour? Love from Canada
I got my first 2 grays two months ago( I'm 31), they looked more of a reddish blonde though in my dark brown hair. I was coming off of months of a very very stressful time , finding them made me freak out.
Have kids and you’ll accelerate your gray hair production quickly. Lol. I dyed them but a few months ago I started growing my natural hair. Can’t wait to see what it looks like when I’m done. Love your vlogs.
Yuuuuuup also got my first greys during the pandemic a solid 10 years before the age my parents got theirs! Mine are hilarious: they’re an inch or two long and wiry and like to stick straight up.... I’ve accepted it. 😂
Aaaawww finally saying Hunsband! So cute :3 Oh man my first Grey hair appear when I was around 22 years old hahaha nobody in my family started to get them that early but I've only gotten a few since then. Nothing dramatic :p but I do love the look of Grey hair ❤️
i got my first grey hair around 18-19 🥲🥲🥲 now have almost a full head at 26 lol it’s definitely mostly genetics but it gets a bit annoying at hairdressers and random ppl asking about it
Hello Lucy and very good vlog thanks with pleasant variety of content that I found enjoyable and love your sweet nature and May I suggest getting a parrot bird and or a tortoise as they live for a long time so thanks for reading take care stay safe and cheerio
I know I am very late but I still wanted to congratulate because of the wedding. Your dress was very beautiful ( btw I am very sorry I have no idea how to phrase that 😅 English isn't my first language)
I'm 26 and I got my first gray hair this year. This isn't about the gray hair, but I can't help but feeling jealousy. I know it is an ugly feeling and I wish I didn't feel it, but I see everyone who's around my age already having accomplished so much. I don't have a job yet, currently pursuing studies that I don't know for sure will take me anywhere, not in a relationship, not the best social circle, very far from becoming independent.. It's just hard. And you are lovely Lucy, this is obviously nothing against you, but I really do envy how accomplished and stable you are in your life, only a few years older than me. P.s Love these "slow living vlogs" regardless.
I'm so sorry you feel that way! Please know that social media is a highlight reel- most people (me included) tend to mainly share the good things in their lives. Your time will come, I'm sure! You're still young, with plenty of time to figure things out 💕
I mean my brother started going grey at 21, and I'm 23 and I've noticed a couple of grey hairs. I think Mum was in her mid 20s too when she found her first grey hair - so 28 compared to my family is pretty late XD
Lucy, you getting excited to say "husband" in the opening is literally the sweetest thing 🥺❤️ I'm certain you'll always be very happy together

I'm sorry about your loss of your fur babies.
You know you've been here a while when you anticipate what summer clothes are coming out to the bag! 🙂

My sympathy on the loss of your sweet boys. I remember wondering not long ago why we weren't seeing them in videos. So sorry to hear the reason.

This is a good reminder that we need days like this. ...just normal and quiet 💖
Love the grey; so classy when women let it be without dyeing it!!❤
OH, finally a vlog with some bike-riding plus calm music. i used to enjoy these views from the bike right into the environment so so much. :)

The Pikachu pocket! ❤️
I'm so sorry you have lost your ratties. I understand that your heart needs a break. Take the time needed to grief for them.
Good Morning! I love the music and it's a joy to watch your videos. You are such a classy lady!
I just started getting greys at 22! 28’s nothing to worry about I’ll be looking like a grandma by then 😂

Stess grey hair is a thing, I noticed few grey hair few years ago but since then I did not notice their amount increasing.
Your vlogs are so calming and easy to watch 🥰

Lucy, I do the same; when I am all by myself I watch trashy reality show😂. But they are fun at the same time 🤷🏻♀️😂
This was so soothing and fun ty. More of this plz!!

@@raraavis7782 Exaaaactly. Extra fun when they're gathered just on one side of your head hah
Gosh, I've missed the bike rides with you! 😍💜
You always brighten my day, thank you ☺️
In my family, we all got our grey hairs in our early 20s. I got mine around 21. My temples are pretty greys by now nearly a decade later.
Grey hair on the temples looks good on anyone imo
Hope there is babies soon. So much new content once you start a family- how exciting! Been watching you for years!

Hello I just saw your sewing videos and love it
As you were working in your wardrobe, I wondered what the future will be for your wedding dress. Does it have a home in your wardrobe?
I'm going to alter it and wear it once more; we've had to postpone our wedding party 😊
I know I am very late but I still wanted to congratulate because of the wedding. Your dress was very beautiful ( btw I am very sorry I have no idea how to phrase that 😅 English isn't my first language)
Your phrasing is good enough to understand, don't worry :-)
I think usually you congratulate someone "on" or "with" something.
@@jlammetje thank you 😊
