Incredible teaching! Definitely want to dive deeper into this subject now. Such a glorious and precious truth and identity we have in Christ! Praise God for His amazing grace!!
Wonderful seminar. *Note: the video description says the panelists are Drs. Sinclair Ferguson and W. Robert Godfrey, but the latter is not Godfrey. This is Dr. Derek W. H. Thomas.
At 11:25 “it’s not next to me…it’s in Heaven” well…even in space…there is no time. Which may very well mean: • the body may be next to you • and that events said to have already happened…may not have happened yet.
Hello Andrew, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We apologize for the inconvenience and have corrected the error. Should you have additional questions, please email service@ligonier.org
I think Paul would say as he does in Romans 8 that he is a son of God. The in Christ is the how and is very important but it is not our identity. The who is a son and the how we are the who is union with Christ. The what or how answer does not answer the question of our identity because it is a who question.
To repent The word repent as an Ecclesiastic term does not mean, “I am sorry and I am not going to do it again” as many people may thing today. To repent means: “to give up totally ones own will, and inherit in their life the will of God entirely”. So when John the Baptist was calling people to repent, he was actually calling them to entirely change their way of life. It all begins with the Holy Sacfrment of Baptism During the Holy Sacrament of Baptism a person receives the gifts of the Holy Spirit however it is up to each and every individual to energize them or set them in motion at will based on their greatest gift from God which is their freedom. God bless, good buy, and please take
Neither the Hebrew nor Greek words translated 'repent' mean what you say they do. Think about it. What do you suppose scripture means when it says God repented???

Thank you for the Sunday afternoon food.
The ability of the Ligonier speakers to articulate answers is awe inspiring.
Yes that's true but it's " the Triune God " at work and we are allowed as God's children to see it unfold.
I need this more than just 30 minutes. 🤧
Thank you Ligonier ministries!
Well articulated on a Christian's identity.

I think this is titled wrong. Dr. Godfrey isn't there unless he's off camera.

Being a son of God is a 'what', not the 'who'. The 'who' is your redeemed self.
