This is the video I didn't know I needed. I never had trouble finding the edge stitch, but my current TC project uses fingering yarn, and the fine yarn and the height of the rows (much less) makes it harder to see where to insert my hook. That shouldn't be a problem for me anymore with this simple step of adding the stitch marker. Thank you!
3:38 but those first 3 still look larger than the rest of the row? A simpler technique is to gently hold the yarn at the first stitch a little tighter for the first few stitches, which keeps that first stitch neat 👍🏻
Thank you for sharing this with me. I agree that holding the yarn tighter can help. That's what I did when I was just learning, and while it did help, it put a lot of strain on my hands. Using the stitch marker technique has been much more effective for me and makes it easier on my hands.
