With the recent demolition of The Palace of Auburn Hills, I will say the house show match between Hulk Hogan and The Big Bossman was the loudest crowd reaction I would ever hear in that building.
The Twin Towers would have made more sense with One Man Gang than Akeem. Nothing about the Akeem gimmick made sense.
Made perfect sense to Vince. He was trying to do cartoons, and sell action figures and bed sheets. Which do you think appeals to 7 and 8 year olds more? One Man Gang or Akeem?
That's why people call the WWE cartoon wrestling.
Vince’s constant desire to bury the competition led to Akeem. I don’t think too many people knew he was supposed to be making fun of Dusty Rhodes.
