This is only soap opera that really focused on marital issues that everyone can relate to lack of intimacy lack of communication anger resentment over the years it's all there and honestly she deserved an Oscar not a daytime Emmy
Well stated! This show and this arc especially is what made me want to take deeper interest into my mental health. If these two can struggle with their own mental health then it made me open my mind up and want to do better on my end. You don't see this kind of deep emotional honesty on soaps anymore. It's all cliched situations. I miss this.
Susan Flannery AKA Stephanie Forrester is such a great actress very above and beyond the soap opera usual she inspires all her career was a huge experience and great success who she really is
One of the best soap scenes on discussing what makes real intimacy and how to communicate it. I'm glad this was a discussion (instead of a love scene) on an issue many couples, especially maturing ones, face; it made it all the more believable.
water7apple: I remember even later on, after Stephanie was diagnosed with Brain Cancer, she did not want Eric to be intimate with her......such an idiotic.....CONTROL ....freak!!
This was such an amazing storyline. One of the best. Explained a lot about how our childhood stays with us. I was so blessed to have the parents I had. All of the actors were wonderful. Susan always superb, then Betty White and thr real revelation in the episodes to follow is that great speech that Eric gives to Stephanies Mother. Really John McCook was masterful.
Such wonderful acting and the writing is just so fabulous, really pulls at the heartstrings and each word was so beautiful and meaningful. Why cant this writing exist today.
This is such a rewrite. She was there for him always thought the whole 90s and all the troubles because if his poor decisions. If that didn't show she cared, than I don't know. Gut him up when he was down and fought with him because of the company. This is Bradleys version. She was für 13 years starved of love from this man and endured so much from him. This is a untrue representation of this relationship. Didn't reflect what happened from 1987 until 2001/2002. Maybe somewhere she turned. But who can blame her. And he crys here of lack of care and love. What did he do 15 years long?
i like it when eric loses his temper with stephanie, it looks like he has some balls and like he might be her equal and all their problems and issues finally come to light. i wish they would fight more then maybe i could see why they ever got together.
They are NOT married in real life, and never have been. Susan Flannery is said to be gay in real life, and I think that had a lot to do with the character losing femininity......like POOF, and she seemed like a totally different character.....dressing different, and no longer carrying purses. This soap went in a very bad direction when it wrote a great passionate actor like John McCook to not have an equally passionate and compatible leading lady to go through this soap with, instead of having a wife that loathed intimacy, and implying he was a philanderer, when he was initially a truly good man who was simply miserable, and desired TRUE LOVE and intimacy. I hated the character of Stephanie, and how the younger Bell kept trying to rewrite them to have what was truly never there......such a waste of John McCook!!
Stephanie, Eric Forrester and Sally Spectra were the core of this show to me. NOW with the Maronis and the Logans cluttering up the show...its hard to really see what once made this show so great.
Eric needed some one to hold him and Stephanie was just so cold . I have been in this kind of relationship . It’s not all about sex sometimes it’s just about someone holding you.
Holy crap!! This scene says it all. I'm glad I saw it. Why couldn't she show intimacy to Eric? Why couldn't she be vulnerable? She couldn't love him like he needed and he chased after all those young women and he still does. That's in his blood. His DNA. But Stephanie was the ONE. Perhaps the only one who really mattered. She chased him away until he ran to Brooke, Donna, and the others. They flattered his ego. Stephanie didn't. This was a watershed moment and we got to see it. I'm glad. Even if it was 16 years ago.

I love When Stephanie gets angry🤣😂🤣I almost die from laughter
me too

Damn! Eric actually won an argument against Stephanie, and she actually admitted that she was wrong for a change! Somebody note the date and time!
Just loved those 2 together :)!!
i love stephanie haha. she went off on him. i gotta say Eric had good points & finally showed a back bone. they are a great couple
Just a GREAT SCENE! EVERY scene is just monumental with the two of them! Noone in the cast today can measure up to them!
Sex and intimacy are not the same. So true
Susan is just PERFECTION!

Just written soooo well!

The best ever on daytime
Out of all the women Eric has been with Stephanie is the only one who would take him on & lash out on him for his sacrifices.
Best acting I've seen!!

This is a Masterclass
These two's acting is so real, that you can actually tell they are married in real life. I miss Stephanie!
Wait.. are you saying they are really married in real life??
They're not married in real life.

Agree with you 100%. Susan Flannery & Darlene Conley were the pillars of this show!
Stephanie Forrester needs anger management classes. Stephanie would probably slap the instructor
Who wouldn't she slap? She would even slap herself if she could
The chemistry between these two.
i miss stephaine
Go Susan Go Go!!!
God i love this scene. Nothing crazy, but a depiction of a realistic marriage
Eric needed some one to hold him and Stephanie was just so cold . I have been in this kind of relationship . It’s not all about sex sometimes it’s just about someone holding you.
Why couldn't he have said this to her decades before?!
If he had a backbone he wouldn't have stayed with her.
Between 4:30 and 4:35, i was chuckling a little bit on this part.
Lol steph!
Thanks. 😎📺📺👍👍
