Her expressive eyes, my Gosh! It connects to the audience. Her maneuver commands the band. Truly a Singing Superstar. A music Gem, Icon, Legend! Though she never considered herself a Diva her stage presence is just beyond extravagant & excellence. Her vocal placement is just exquisite.
I agree with what you said but she absolutely considered herself a diva. At first she didn’t like the negative condemnation behind it but then later she embraced it. Look up her interview for divas live.
How in an interview she was asked if she lip-synch . I believe they referenced her to other singers who do eg. Rihanna🤣🤣🤣. Whitney responded by saying "Now you know I don't lip-synch" 🤣🤣🤣 it's the way she says it🤣🤣
For real! The estate is doing nothing to put more of Whitney's live performances . Instead, they post throwbacks, boutique collections, the "shocking" documentaries of Whitney and other things. Besides, the estate only knows to take down the videos like this and just post the audio of the specific performance. This is making me miss channels like "Whitney The Voice Houston".
The reason no one can compare to the voice is because it's a gift by God. You can't teach this and can't duplicate. Inspiring kids today, take care of the gift and don't let influences get in the way.
Everyone has flaws. But she is quite flawless truthfully. Shes extraordinary I don't care what anyone says. I cant believe it sometimes. We had her for 30 years.
Ladies and gentleman: this is Whitney Houston. The Voice. The Standard. The Legend. The one the other girls try but always fail to beat. Thank you so much for posting this. The quality made it feel like it was taped yesterday. ❤️
Even if, on the very small chance someone sounded this good, would they have this charisma? This woman didn’t only possess a superior sound, she was drop dead gorgeous, and had that statuesque beauty, poise and elegance you don’t see a lot of out there. She knew what she had, and didn’t need to move in a gaudy provocative way. She could be sexy and elegant simultaneously. Royal flush.
I have cried hundreds of times to this performance - most of them when Whitney was still alive. She was our amazing girl. Who needs another documentary or bad lifetime movie about her when her LIVE performances are so cinematic and thrilling? Tidal waves of elemental truth. Houston is on top of the world here - in full control of her gorgeous talents and presentation - with her outstretched forearms and tender smiles. Velvet low tones and pure resonant chest belts, that thick beautiful head voice with her soulful, trademark trills. She sounds like trumpets and church bells. We receive her at full capacity, beautifully in charge of her gifts - harmoniously presented. It's more than vocal virtuosity. Whitney performs on a warm, human level - with a superhuman voice. Who sings for 10 minutes like THIS on live TV? No one, ever. This is not even her greatest vocal performance. It is a vocal tour de force and a moving picture of her confidence and artistry to cherish forever. Her heart and talent and beauty are on full display. She was blessed by all the creators. ❤
Yeah, they should stop with these docu's focussing on what went wrong in Whitney's life. Her amazing performances like this one and concerts like the Saratoga Springs 1987 and the Wembley 1988 is what fans want.

@@mariacamarena2645 Whitney gave Jennifer Holiday the highest compliment by singing it at the AMAs in 1994. People instantly remembered her when Whitney did it and nailed it. Jealousy is not a becoming trait. Whitney was paying homage to great musical pieces in theater/broadway with these 3 songs.

Lord , please don't let them take this down . Finally. ❤
Amen!
gosh I literally cried after reading and realizing this and that I can't live without her music, I can't imagine growing older without whitney, we could only watch her videos. 😭😭😭😭
Whitney said she didn’t need any BGVs, no water, and barely broke a sweat in the set. She gave us elegance, class, and sophisticated in one go. NO ONE does a medley like Whitney
when did she say this
Whitney brought the house down this night! SMH...no backup singers, dancer..just stood flat foot with mic and blew the place up with raw talent.
Rihanna🤣🤣🤣. Whitney responded by saying "Now you know I don't lip-synch" 🤣🤣🤣 it's the way she says it🤣🤣
Nobody was seeing Whitney at this point in time. NO 👏👏👏 FREAKIN' 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 BODY 👏👏👏👏👏👏. 1994 never looked so good. The quality is impeccable.
I have no idea what you’re talking about. I’ve been a Whitney fan since You Give Good Love came out. I was 14. I own every album. 🤷🏽♀️
Whitney was unreal 😭 I hate how much the world put her through. She was truly a once in eternity type of gift.
These are all major songs she's singing. Most singers won't even be able to pull off the first song!!!
Legendary 💜
I saw the movie I want to dance with somebody and damn she was a pure gold talent for real she really R.I.P. 🌹
Thank you. This is probably the most divine moment in all of live music
The world's most perfect comment to define this video. I couldnt find the words. Thank you.
#DIVINE ~4 REAL~ #THEVOICE
💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎
Hands down one of the greatest Whitney performances ever!!!!!! She’s definitely a jewel 💎
Omg!!!!! Whitney’s Estate needs to hire you ASAP. They could never do this
OMG THANKS!! And yeah they aare very lazy huh
OMFG. This woman’s voice was the 8th wonder of the world. #RIPWhitney
The greatest vocalist
The reason no one can compare to the voice is because it's a gift by God. You can't teach this and can't duplicate. Inspiring kids today, take care of the gift and don't let influences get in the way.
Everyone has flaws. But she is quite flawless truthfully. Shes extraordinary I don't care what anyone says. I cant believe it sometimes. We had her for 30 years.
God bless 🙏🙏❣️
She was only really good from 85-95. It was very sketchy after 95.
@@augustschweigeryt559 she gave many great moments in 95-2000 too
I am crying listening to this😇🥰
@@augustschweigeryt559 she was invincible up until 1995. She was very good from 1996-1999. After 2000 is when things started to go bad
This is one of the most hands down amazing performances I have ever seen, and this has got to be the best quality I have ever seen it in
I love the way she sings "You're gonna love me" as if the next line is "or I'm gonna burn your house down".
🤣🤣🤣
Yes! And then defiantly dares them not to with an assertive “Yes, you are. Yes, you are.”
😂
Lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂
The class… the lack of gimmicks…. The ease… the beauty. Y’all omg she was a real one!
Ladies and gentleman: this is Whitney Houston. The Voice. The Standard. The Legend. The one the other girls try but always fail to beat. Thank you so much for posting this. The quality made it feel like it was taped yesterday. ❤️
You are so damn right. Keep it 100.
I agree!!!!
@@ninamo7969 they are going to in her new biopic!
@@rachelmarrron I'm a major Whitney-fan and also love her for the great, kind en generous human being she was. Out of respect for Whitney, I don't watch anything that disrespects her.
@@ninamo7969 the biopic is mostly about how amazing whitney was and not disrespectful at all her family even aprooved of it but ofc they will talk about the drugs since its a biopic and drugs were in whitneys life but the movie is mostly about how talented and amazing whitney was unlike the docus and such
Couldn't agree more.❤
Her tribute to Dorothy Dandridge (I love you Porgy), Jennifer Holiday ( And I am Telling You) and then her hit I Have Nothing. The Voice....I know you hated to be that moniker, but you came from greatness. Love you. Rest in Peace.
Turns out that Jennifer Holliday wasn't happy that night when Whitney sang her signature song. Jennifer complained the next day to Wendy Williams. Whitney didn't care what she thought!!
This was Whitney shutting up the critics who were talking shit about her during this time..
@@charles1291 it was on Wendy's radio show!!
I remember watching her at the AMA'S in 1994, and I got goosebumps then, goosebumps watching this performance being reenacted on screen, which prompted me to watch this now. I left the theater in tears because I was reminded how Whitney was, indeed, The Voice, and how she had this gift. Continue to rest in peace, Whitney. And finally, her story was told right!!
I just saw the movie today with my mom. She got a bit teary eyed
The film made me cry too, more than once! Brilliant movie.
I too shed tears watching the movie, especially after her performance at the AMA’s..my God! Her voice is truly a gift and unduplicated. She is an Icon and no one can come close to her level
How can a human sound like this!?
Imagine the people who saw this live!😳
I envy them, in the BEST way possible lol.
EARGASM
Eu queria estar la
Ikr! I would have been on my feet just taking it all in WOW! AMAZING GOOSE BUMPS AND ALL❤❤😁
The lucky bastards.
The new movie brought me here. I wish I remembered this performance. Whitney was simply amazing.
She was one of the very few singers, who could capture everyone with just her voice. No dance, fancy costumes or anything......
Her and Mariah
There are quite a few singers that can and will do that, actually. Especially old school singers. Because they actually had to have a gift/talent back then.
Just saw the biopic with Naomi Ackie (wonderful in itself) and I had to come back to this masterpiece, The Voice lives forever.
This performance is a sublime piece of art.
You tell me who can hit more difficult notes than her? Her optical range was amazing
Has any other singer ever been given this long to sing at an awards show? What a show stopping performance. Perfection. ❤️
This sets the bar so incredibly high for any other human being who says they are a “vocalist”! After she came on the scene music would FOREVER be Changed! That VOICE was one of the most influential and INCREDIBLE instruments we will ever hear! Truly, ICON in every sense of its meaning! ❤️❤️😭😭😭
On what would have been your 58th birthday today, we still love you Nippy, We will never have this type of disctinct gift from God, ever.
One in 7 billion.
She reached down deep in her soul and sang those songs.
Naomi did an awesome job recreating this performance isn’t he new movie… she studied Whitney day in and day out, captured her spirit and mannerisms! Impressive 👏🏾
So very true. I was especially pleased to see that Naomi captured that shoulder movement Whitney sang at 6:13. The part where she said "don't walk" . I've seen this performance so many times that I knew she'd done her homework.
STUNNING!!! One singer and seven instrumentalists, not a weak link in sight; an extraordinary moment. Incomparable.
No one in life will ever be like Whitney Houston😢❤❤❤❤
Came back here because of the movie! Loved it! Whitney is the best vocalist of all time!
THE GREATEST LIVE VOCAL PERFORMANCE EVER, PERIOD!
Never gonna be another Whitney Houston.. speechless.
i am sorry but Mariah could fucking NEVER! I don't care how many whistle notes she hits...The sheer power and brilliance and stage presence Whitney Houston had was unmatched. Her skill and technique and just delivery and the emotions...MAN! The ALL TIME GREATEST VOCALIST EVER! I have seen many many Mariah Carey performances and SHE NEVER MOVED ME LIKE THIS! This is a masterclass performance!
Imagine having the need to compare two of the greatest female singers in history instead of being able to appreciate them both. How sad...
@@theshade6466 who said I don't appreciate Mariah! I like her songs but she does not move me the way Whitney does. Watching Whitney Houston perform live is an experience. From head to toe, shivers down the spine, I want to cuss in church on SUNDAY experience! Ok!
All I saw was a stellar performance from the one and only Voice.. What does this have to do with Mariah again?
NEVA EVA!
What was the point of bringing up Mariah?
Damn she can sing 💓
Wow, the quality is out of this world as always!
Thanks so much
I've never heard a singer's voice channel the immovable earth like hers does on Those Notes in And I'm Telling You.
her voice is just perfect in every note, it sounds just too beautiful to be true, she looks gorgeous in here, such a beautiful singer💔 and over that such a good person, i would do anything to watch this performance live😕 may she rest in peace Miss Nippy Houston hope God have mercy of you💜👸🏾
After watching the movie. I need to watch this. ❤❤❤
I’m literally crying this never gets easy. I don’t understand it at all. This woman looked after so many and she was so hurt in the end. She died by herself and she didn’t deserve that at all.
There will never be another voice like Whitney Houston!! God truly blessed her
& this is why Whitney Houston is called THE VOICE !
Just here to say that it will only be Whitney.
I mean literally nobody ever came BEFORE this woman vocally and nobody can FOLLOW this woman vocally. God given.
Just watched the movie and had to come here to see the original 💜👌
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!….THIS is what the WH Estate should be doing with all of her live footage and selling it! All of us fans would buy it up!
Mmmm mmmm Miss Houston delivered as usual
NO ONE COMPARED OF THIS DIVA.. REAL QUEEN.. QUEEN OF ALL DIVA
The high "my arms" at the 3rd key change of " I Have Nothing" was a high point of civilization.
The g.o.a.t. ms. Whitney. "The voice" houston.
