- This Terraria weapon is insanely powerful now… The Electrosphere Launcher . In this video, I take a look at this post Golem ranged weapon which although was previously very powerful, actually received a huge accidental buff in Terraria's 1.4.4 update. This weapon is truly one of the absolute best options for any ranger looking at making late pre pillar progression a breeze, and only requires farming the Martian Madness event. Using Mini Nukes, this weapon can destroy all kinds of enemies including large groups and single targets. Give it a go!

The auto fire is insane with many weapons, not just with launchers. The Venus Magnum is also extremely powerful with the auto fire.
Made so many weapons broken op now it’s amazing!
I think the devs knew this already so they made the Venus Magnum autofire, but nerfed its use time in the process. Not as powerful as it could be.

Now it is literally an indirect upgrade to the Uzi rather than the Phoenix Blaster

I actually used this thing when 1.4 first came out and it was good enough to kill the EoL since they don't fly too far away from you which means she's more likely to run into them more often
i used it on moonlord and did about the same dmg as my other friend did using mainly melee
I'm sorta surprised I never heard of popular mods that attempt to make the Golem - Cultist transition to our preferences, I could see it be a bit like the 4 Lord Souls in Dark Souls, then maybe beef up the cultist too.
Another thing I'd love to see is more early weapons getting balanced upgrades, kinda like Vilethorn to Nettle Burst, it's nice to see weapons with functionality and/or theming you love become available again in later phases.
There is vile crystal staff from hallowed mimic which does what thorn and nettle do
All I want is an upgraded waterbolt. Once they add that I'll finally be satisfied.
Its not just golem cultist but plantera to golem as well, you could theoretically kill plantera and immediately fight golem after. Hardmode needs a lot of padding in its current state, plantera already is pretty much the hardmode version of wall of flesh, so why not make golem one of 3-4 new bosses that are required to fight before cultist. Possibly a boss to explain why the dungeon becomes filled with new enemies after plantera's defeat instead of "wonky cultists unleashed them." As it stands everything post plantera feels way too linear and lacks meaning compared to the rest of the game.

The problem with rocket launchers, at least for me, is the uncommon and expensive ammo they use, I have no problem crafting thousands of clorophite bullets or multiple different types of arrows, but rockets are way too expensive even for endgame especially if you want to use the more powerful ones, also there's no infinite rocket pouch or quiver like for bullets or arrows
Yeah, but they make up for it in power + most people make those typical triangle platinum farms anyway.
Rockets aren't very expensive. They're actually less expensive than chlorophyte bullets per unit. It takes one chlorophyte bar to make 70 bullets but if you sold that bar and used the money to buy rocket III's you could buy 90 of them. Pair them with a snowman cannon and now you have a ranged weapon that homes and deals loads of damage. Only mini-nukes are kinda expensive since they need shroomite and they’re not even necessary

Yes! Martian Madness weapons are really underrated/unrecognized (imo) so I'm glad to see a youtuber finally make a video on one of these!
I think the biggest reason launchers get overlooked is that the same time they're really introduced you are given shroomite armor, and have to choose to commit yourself to launchers by choosing the right helmet. Shroomite armor is probably my biggest gripe with ranger, second being I think there's too many choices that don't feel different enough from each other among guns and bows.

It’s expensive but if you farm for two of everything you can use loadouts to switch between shroomite helmets
Snowman Cannon was an absolute saviour for me pre-1.4.4, it was my go to for Fishron and EoL. Launchers and Flamers are my favourite sub-class, it's just sad they get so little love

@@jacksonpercy8044 Depends on my class. Snowman Cannon or Chaingun are still good for ranger, and Possessed Hatchet is my go to for my main class of Melee

I am personally not a big fan of Ranged, but all the unique Launchers are making me excited to get to Post-Golem. Doing a Legendary Mode Multiplayer playthrough rn, enjoying Ranged a bit so far.

This weapon has a special place in my heart, as this was the weapon I used for when I beat the lunatic cultist for the first time. Love it.
I prefer the sky dragon's fury, which has the exact same projectile for its secondary mode. I haven't thoroughly compared damage output with optimized builds, but the sky dragon's fury still does quite a bit of damage AND doesn't require costly ammo.
I used the elctrosphere for my first couple runs of the pillars and it served its purpose great!

What i like about the electrosphere launcher is that its probably the best weapon to use to summon daytime eol as you can spawn the lacewig inside the energy orb

I honestly don't like the auto fire setting being a setting. It should have just been a general change across the game. I don't feel as though clicking to attack each time should have been a thing before. This is how the game should have been
Same, I play on Switch a lot now & my hands used to cramp so hard after like 100 clicks, best QOL change ever.
imho, there are two main problems with launchers:
1. They show up very late in the game and at a point where plenty of other weapons get slept on.
2. They don’t deal any extra damage against bosses, so you might as well be using the Sniper Rifle.
Honestly, if they took care of #2 and had launchers deal double damage and knockback against bosses - even bosses that don’t normally take knockback - launchers would feel awesome.
when I think of launchers, I think of Yrmir using the snowman canon against enraged dukes. Feels like one of those memories you'll never forget

Electrosphere launcher and the Snowman Cannon are imo are a little underated, snowman cannons fast firing homing rockets is pretty good. and the the electrosphere is nice for aera denial.
i've always liked the snowman cannon. if i get it, and get the ammo for it, i generally prefer it over the chain gun or xenopopper with chlorophyte bullets.
You should talk about the new chain guillotines buff!
I remember using it in my first calamity playthrough and it was so op against astrum deus, sad that it’s pretty useless in vanilla though
You should review the sky dragon the melee sword that fires a projectile doing more damage then the zenith (obviously zenith does more dps) with how simple it is to get from Betsy and it also goes through structures

could you make a video on the nettle burst? its a way better version of vilethorn obviously, dropped from plantera and is amazing for crowd control. i feel like its really forgotten
Agreed. The Nettle Burst is amazing for post-plantera dungeon raids as a mage.

The sky dragons fury has the same projectile but a totally different functionality as a melee weapon. It's one of my favorite to use against the pillars

I beat moolord with electrosphere before in mobile (because all weapons there is autofire.) But seeing it finally getting love, it makes me wanna use it more often.
I used this weapon to defeat Duke fishron on my Legendary mode play through. Its Extrememly effective on plantera/ Golem as well.

During the normal world playthrough with my friend, as always I was a max damage ranger and just to show him how easy normal was, I used this to shred the cultist in seconds

I just always use the snowman cannon in endgame. It and razor blade typhoon are perfect counters to pillars
The eye of cthulhu is great for taking down the ufo's

my problem with the weapon is how hard it is to maximize damage by using mulitple energy balls, cause they merge when overlapping

The "now" in the title implies it was ever not insanely powerful. I usually always picked this thing up alongside the xeno popper on my warrior playthroughs. It's like, the only launcher I use.
You should try the Snowman Cannon; it has been a top-tier weapon for years imo.
I used this as soon as I could and i loved it and used it to rip apart the rest of the game

I think the issue with launchers in general is they're exclusively post-Plantera, so you barely get the chance to use them and probably already locked yourself in well for guns or bows by then

There are so many better options for moon lord? Well in terms of dps only bows deal more damage try it out yourself. Community really underestimate the power of rocket launchers snowball cannon is close to being as good as vortex beater for instance (at least in my testings). And electrosphere launcher deals shit ton of single target dps it is still little obscure to use tho.

This was an MVP weapon I used to kill the Moonlord on my first time. I already thought it was good, I just didnt know there are better rocket ammunitions.
I found this weapon cool, but it wasn't really worth using for me since I got it so late in-game, I end up sticking to other weapons, especially since I don't really like the Martian Madness event
I got it in my 1.4.1 playthrough trying to get influx for zenith and it’s honestly a really good and good rocket capable of dealing insane dps HOWEVER if I’m using a rocket launcher I’ll take the homing projectiles of the snowman cannon any day over this
This weapon is stupid good for the Lunar events now, thanks to autofire. You can fill they sky with these spheres and watch as every enemy simply flies right into them.
Honestly, I feel like the pillar gear needs to split each of the pillars into their own progression tree, and any item from each tree should require a unique resource material from some piece of post-plantera content.
Having events be mandatory for progression in some way would remedy a lot of the shenanigans that cause so much of the near-endgame gear to feel redundant and rushed.

I always found this weapon good
Only issue with this launcher that makes me pick Snowman Launcher over it. Its use is much worse on controller, as you have to aim it much slower or much accurately to use it properly, but with keyboard and mouse its quite good
