    Hi guys! Today we're visiting the legendary Borough Market & we're going to try out some foods such as traditional British Sausage Roll & Scotch Egg from Ginger Pig, Filled Doughnut from Bread Ahead & fresh Pasta from the popular pasta spot Padella!
    In the spirit of keeping us on our toes & continual improvement of our vlogs, here are our thoughts from the technical perspective on our vlog this week:
    Despite it being a decent-ish video, this is probably our worst vlog in recent memory...the close ups weren't the best & the continuity in movements/transitions aren't good. We've dropped the ball on this episode.
    This also caused editing this vlog to be a nightmare & the use of music also required more effort to keep the vlog chugging along.
    Being stopped halfway while filming Borough Market definitely caused our overall footage to suffer as well, not to mention the lack of close ups at Padella...We should recover faster to this type of sudden occurrence in the future.
    That's it for this week. Next week's vlog will definitely be way better!

    I just found your channel and it's great! I'm an American foodie myself, currently living in Tel Aviv, Israel, and the food here is amazing! A fusion of middle eastern cuisine with all sorts of unique twists, not to mention the people are so warm, and there are so many cool places to visit all over the country. I highly recommend you travel here :)

    Really loved your intro when you were speaking about borough market and rather than blab on you included little snips of borough market! Really enjoyed this little video, the music was perfect addition. Really entertaining, keep it up! Plus I’m excited to see a fellow Asian couple taking on travel vlogs. Well done!

    Scotch eggs must be eaten with a little piccalilli. All parmigiano reggiano is Parmesan. I think you are confusin. with pecorino Romano.

    • @TheGourmetPlate
      @TheGourmetPlate  Год назад +1

      Hi Marc, thanks for sharing the way of eating scotch eggs with us! We had another scotch egg after Borough Market & it did come with Piccalilli which is a great match for this savoury dish!
      As for Parmigiano-Reggiano equating to Parmesan you’re absolutely right on the European side. However, unless we are mistaken, Parmesan isn’t regulated out of Europe, which means the cheese can be aged less than 12 months & doesn’t have to come from the specific few regions of Italy. As we struggled to find the sharper nutty sweetness from the Pappardelle, Wei Loon made the comment that it might not have been Parmigiano-Reggiano.
      Hope that clears thing up & hope you’ve enjoyed this vlog! We look forward to seeing you in the next one! ☺️

    I have watched a lot of videos from Borough Market and I have never seen one where photography was banned. Did you ask to see her credentials? I would guess that most visitors are tourists and have their cameras out all the time.

      Hello Ron, thanks for dropping by & hope you’ve enjoyed this episode ☺️
      Yes, she’s an actual staff of Borough Market 😅. We checked with the office & confirmed it. Perhaps we were unlucky as the shop owners were actually very friendly & welcoming when we asked for permission to film them 😊

    • @RonSeymour1
      @RonSeymour1 Год назад +2

      @@TheGourmetPlate I checked the market website regarding filming. It does not specifically ban filming and taking photographs. In fact, with the thousands of tourists with smartphones visiting every week this would be unenforceable. However, in keeping with every other public place you do need permission to film in a professional capacity. This is to ensure that there is insurance and that equipment does not obstruct or injure people. Perhaps the equipment you were using or the way that you were delivering your blog made you stand out as not a normal tourist. Had you walked around with a selfie stick without drawing attention to yourself, if that is what you did, you would most likely have been left alone. As I said, there are dozens of similar blogs on YT. What is refreshing about your video is that you are not afraid to criticize an item where justified.
