    In this step-by-step tutorial, learn how to import and dynamically connect web data to your spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel. To import data from the web into your workbook, you need to ensure that there is a table of data on the web site that you would like to import. Once you import your data, if the data changes, you can refresh it. You can even configure Excel to refresh in the background, on pre-defined intervals, or every single time you open your spreadsheet. At the end, we also look at how you can use Power Query to transform your data before importing. This way any changes you make are applied anytime you update your data. By the end of this video, you'll have a strong understanding of how to import data from the web into Excel.

    Nope, did not work. This must only work for very basic websites. I am trying to download a parts list from a website that is in a scrollable window and not fully visible. There is also a picture with hyperlinks to the table. (Its a motorcycle parts manual I want to keep a copy of for off line viewing) I also gave a ton more options than what was presented in this video.

    Thanks Kevin for your video. I love watching your tutorials. They are ALWAYS clear, informative and to the point. I understand how this one works, but I'm trying to import a website that uses password credentials for entry to the site.
    I don't know if you even reply to these anymore (I'm hoping u see this one) but I am struggling keep a lot of data in order and having the ability to pull from a protected site to organize in a way that's helpful to me would be a BIG help.
    Do u have a video explaining this? Or a recommended link that would show me how to do this. Pleeeease, all advice welcome 🙏.

    What prevents the reverse traffic where the website is pulling the data from the Excel sheet? Is this security function built into Excel or is this task a network firewall issue independent of Excel?
    Perhaps this question is outside the scope of your expertise, but can you do a video where an Excel sheet or Access database serves as the data source for a public website?

    • @purplecrayon7281
      @purplecrayon7281 Год назад

      You raise a very interesting point. But what Excel was doing when importing, is no different than a web browser pulling and displaying data. If a site is hosting data that might be some kind of trojan horse, your browser (or security software) should raise an alert before you even thought of importing into Excel.
