I love watching your songs even though I don’t know your language... especially the ones with Maestro Pavarotti and Domingo and Mehta’.... the three tenors... all time greats...you come across always as a dignified gentleman...lots of love and respect...from India
I love Jose and he was a brilliant tenor but not the greatest ever. There is no such thing as the greatest ever when it comes to tenors in particular and singers in general. Many insist that Enrico Caruso was the top. I have my own favorites including Carreras. What makes him so fantastic is that he overcame leukemia and returned to his great form.
What makes him fantastic is the ability not only to sing very well - but also to get across the emotion and feeling of the piece he is singing - How many times have you gone to the opera and yes enjoyed it - BUT- have you experienced the feeling and emotion in that opera - You always experienced it with Jose Carreras singing- that is part of what makes him the best !
Probablemente porque se dirige a personas de distintos lugares y no todos tienen la suerte de hablar Español. Esa suerte solo la tienen unos cuantos millones de personas en el mundo, que no es poco. Es admirable que haga el esfuerzo que ha hecho para agradecer al mundo y a Plácido Domingo, el poder estar donde está ahora mismo. Muchos años querido José Carreras. Eres otro de nuestros orgullos nacionales.
