      @@rosariorose9 I heard the e2 includes less routines. Is that true? If so, which ones mentioned in the vid are not taught?

    Thanks as always David! Looks like V2 is only available on Hocus Pocus as well as other sites. Any more distinctions between Gold and V2 would be great. Only thing I see below is the additional instruction to add to another tuck case.

    I have this and the new version also which I just picked up. You can remove the deck (partially) from the box in the newest version, it's great! Love these products!

    I've used the Extractor without a jacket. I would put it in my front pants pocket and palm the card out from there.

    Extractor has to be in my 10 gimmick purchases ever. (That said, Weiser/Regal's Accomplice is also amazing and leaves the box examinable! Gotta love both). If only my skills in a certain required area didn't suck!

    It's funny that you posted this today, as I just got the Extractor a week or two ago. I am fairly certain that V2 (also known as E2) came out _after_ the Gold version. It seems like Gold came with extra routines, and the DVD taught you how to rebox your gimmick. V2 allows you to very easily transfer your gimmick to a new box (would take about 30 seconds to prepare).

    So if it's Spring or Summer, and I'm walking around most the time in a t-shirt, NOT wearing a jacket, and I want to show it to friends or whoever I meet when I'm outdoors, can I still use this? Many Thanks - DJ

    I want to know the difference between E2 and E-Gold

    • @jeffgray7922
      @jeffgray7922 4 года назад

      The difference is that the gimmick is independent from the box in the E2 version. There is still "work" in the box, but it's easy to make your own if you want to change card boxes, as I did, since they (the dealer, not Alakazam) gave me a blue bicycle box instead of a red one. It took me about a total of 2 minutes to change the box and gimmick out to red bicycle from blue. Anyway, the obvious advantage here is that you can partially remove the cards from the box to make them seem less suspicious (though you could argue that this is more suspicious and I would understand). Honestly, I don't think you really need to partially remove the deck from the box while doing this, but I just think it's so awesome because when the box wears out, I can just make another one in about 1 minute. With the gold version, it takes me about 15 to 20 minutes to make a new unit and it is a LOT more involved. One final note: Alakazam has yet to update the instructional video to include information about the E2 model. I had to "figure out" how to change the box over from blue to red, though I admit, it wasn't very hard. I was just annoyed that the video link I was given in the product didn't work and when I contacted the dealer, they gave me another link, but it was to the older instructional video that came with the gold version (of which I own two of). The dealer also told me that this was the only link that was given to them by the dealer. I just realized that you posted this comment 11 months ago, but I hope I may have answered any of your questions you may have had about the differences between the two.

    Yet another excellent review. Just as you want to provide both the pros and cons in your reviews, I do have one suggestion, regarding your presentation. It’s a small one and I can’t imagine that it has not been brought to your attention by another loyal follower. It’s “air quotes.” Perhaps it’s just me, but they’re distracting. I compliment you on the use of your hands and other body movements, for they retain the viewer’s attention. Ok. Enough said.

    Do you know if there is a big difference between V2 and the gold version? and I agree its a great trick and good idea for a no palm version.

      I'm pretty sure V2 came out after Gold.

    One note worth mentioning is that this may be difficult to use in the middle of a card routine because, if performed the same way as seen in the demo footage, the regular deck will end up in your side pocket and the Extractor deck will end up in your coat breast pocket; the last place the audience saw you put the deck. It would not make sense to continue a card routine by bringing the regular deck back into play from the side pocket. Also, I would consider this a fair factor for consideration in the "angles" discussion because, again as seen in the demo, the camera operator stays relatively tight on the card signing as there is no justification for the performer's left hand to go into the side pocket while holding the boxed deck. Anyone to the performer's left side, or anyone not intently focused on the signing of the card, will be suspicious of such sloppy handling. As a result, this effect might play better for a smaller or individual audience for better angle control. David already mentioned the need for two decks (regular and Extractor), so the presence of a switch is no revelation here, and the performer's choice in clothing (aside from a coat) may affect handling (e.g. tight pants, small pants pockets, coat without side pockets, etc.) I just hope that users develop smoother handling to ring in the gimmick than what is shown in the demo, which is a disservice to an otherwise clever utility.

    Based on the performance it looks like this could be a repurposed use of Daryl’s Ultimate Ambition gimmick.

    I see these and many other magic gimmicks sold on ebay. 1 thing that baffles me is difference in price. Extractor 1 is 20 bucks. Extractor 2 50 bucks and gold is 80. I just wondering what the difference is in them since price range seems bit all over the place

    @magicorthodoxy Hi. I saw (for the first time) Extractor. It reminded me of a trick/gimmick I designed, at least the effect seems to be the same. Anyway, I'd like to get your opinion of my design before I make more and try to sell them. I like the ethics you seem to have so I trust to show you. I hope to hear from you soon.
