Toad has been around for quite a while in the mushroom kingdom, but lately, a new toad decided to have his turn in the spotlight : Captain Toad.
But what if I told you that Captain Toad is not really a Captain. Here's my top 10 reasons why Captain Toad is NOT A CAPTAIN!

This doesn’t relate to Captain (or it could), but he finds so many other means to get around than jumping. That’s both persistence and smart thinking.

10: He started the Toad Brigade and all of the other Toads refer to him as Captain, and he collects the treasure. That's why he's captain. Also he FOUND it, he didn't buy it.
9: Firstly, they are seen with Captain Toad more than they aren't. And most of the time they aren't in any trouble so Captain Toad doesn't need to be there to protect them. Secondly, with the example you used about the treasure chest, he was stuck inside the chest and needed Mario to save him so he couldn't go back to his brigade.
8: So? Does a plane's captain not count as a captain, just because he didn't build it? No!
7: That's basically the same point as the Number 9.
6: You don't need a special ability to be a captain, you're just making stuff up. Oh, does it say in the dictionary definition that the Captain must be able to jump? He finds treasure just fine, if he really needed to jump to get it he could just TAKE OFF HIS BACKPACK. Captain Toad can still jump you know, he backpack just weighs him down so he can't jump with it on.
5: Captain Toad was just trying to keep hold of his treasure that him a Toadette had found, why would he just let Wingo take it? He didn't let go because if he did, he would've fallen into the abyss.
4: He'd never seen Bee Mario before, so he saw him and got shocked for a second, before realising it was Mario. That's reasonable, he just said it in the heat of the moment because he was shocked, he realised after a second. You'd be shocked if something just flew out of the sky and landed right next to you! He doesn't dance around like an idiot, he stands around smiling, is he not allowed to be happy? In Odyssey, he is in weird spots because he's looking for Power moons and when Wingo is flying away past his camp, he is clearly tired so doesn't realise until he's flying away, not that it matters, he's in the sky, how would Toad catch him?Also, he's not smart? That priceless coming from the guy who didn't know you could be left and right handed.
3: He clearly wants to help Mario, he just isn't as able as Mario. He knows he can't beat Digga-leg, so he provides a place for Mario to get items so that it is easier for Mario. He even goes after the chimp all the way to the end of the level, but he can't catch him because he can't jump, so Mario does it.
2: Do you have any evidence to show his crew don't like him or think he is worthy of the role? No? Not even one piece of evidence? Then why make it a point, let alone the 2nd biggest point!
1: Like I've said before, he's not a coward, he just isn't as able to do things as Mario. He wasn't scared by Bee Mario, he was just shocked at him flying out of the sky and landing right in front of him. When do you see Toad running away, he almost always sticks around somewhere in the level, no matter how dangerous it is. Sure he isn't involved in the action most of the time, but he is still there to lend a hand. Also, TOAD IS NOT A COWARD IS A VIDEO YOU MADE.

Bruh you do realize that doesn’t matter. He can’t jump he can’t pick up the treasures too high and he can’t take his backpack down anyway so deal with it.
When he tries to jump in the captain toad levels in 3D World he barely gets off the ground meaning he might be able to jump since other color toads jump no problem.

I havfe to say something about number 4 with the treasure tracker example: Imagine you had to go on a race that 3 days and you werent aloud to take a pause and you arent aloud to sleep or the other people will then overtake you. So captain toad didnt forget his mission but he was taking a rest until the the bird caught up to him.
