I met my husband right before my 60th Birthday. He's 7 years younger than me, and was a widower. I had been divorced for a few years. He proposed 3 months after we met in person. We just celebrated 5 years of marriage and are going strong.

@@Lindasromperroom Well Linda in a relationship with a man who had my same personanity, vañues, dreams and goals, wonderful sex partner who never would have cheated on me because he had the variety thing out of his sytem when I met him I was 32 he was 37. And Im the kind of woman who has chosen carefully and well....I agreed with you! I could omimagine any interest in anyone else ever again.
Wd were realistic though. Likely we werent going to die together. As we crept up in age still goi g strong amd secually even MORE intimate as we aged (who even knew such a thing was possible)? It isnt what we are taught even me a psycology professor! The proper eesearch hasnt been donemand WHY becuase we all retired between 62 amd 65 before we reach 70s so psychologists have no clue!
As I aged in my late 60s and erly 70s having gotten extensive foreign travel out of my system, crjising forst in out own saiñboat in pur 50s and 60s then on cruise ships after we built a gorgeous home abroad what was left was day to day enjoyment of each other's company and bodies. Yep...I said it. He began using Cialis to in crease normal dei dñi g of peripheral circulation. My hormoomes went up ie.as estrogen went down my testosterone was "unmasked" he said I was like a male teenager. I went from wanti g sex once every couple of weeks during menopause to once a week to twice a week amd mulitorgasmic in my 70s! What a shock THAT was. I found out this does hapñens sometiimes but does not much at all appesr in our psych literature. BELIEVE me when I tell you I searched the ?literature thoroughlly.
Then one day ( I don t want to make you fearful but it does happen), he started declining. He had been a builder then and a RN in retirement to treat US abroad and cruising. Forst his vision in his already only sighted eye began dwindling he was being teeated but was going slowly blind. I tried hard to reassure him we would get speaking books and Id read to him a well he had alot to go on living for. We still had great sex...he began introducing the idea that he would likely diie before me he loved me. He said I should go on to another partner to KEEP me happy til it was my time...I could hear such a thought, he'd been my eveything since 31! His parents went on a long time 87 and 97 his father it wasnt going to be.
Sueenly he came down with sinethung gastric we had a friend our private dr. who came to.our house...we had built this house with a downstairs large elegant bedroom suite handicapped accessible because we had brought my mother from England to care for her here two decades prior...same friend dr. He had all sorts of tests in a month and he was gone a HUGE shock. He had been bringing up the iead of whoever was left having another partner I secretely wanted HIM to never be alone he was too GOOD a buman being . too fine, too loving a man to be alone...I did NOT want him lomleñy after I

If you want companionship then there are solo (group) holidays or hobby groups. My friend met a close companion through her 'widiwed' group. They also have a little circle of friends (that was a spin off from that original group). They have sunshine holidays to the canary Islands from UK winters. They have mini breaks at Warner adult hotels...usually for the more mature people. They are a bit like cruises but set in beautiful stately or Manor houses.

I actually got married at 60! Long story short, I met my husband after he moved to my state to be with someone he met online. It quickly fizzled, but he met me and we began the best relationship of my life. Neither of us had much money, but we worked together and recently purchased our new home, and are now both retired. If I hadn’t met him, I would still be open to dating because I have learned that if you keep your heart open, and use your head, the possibilities are endless 😍.

A perfect marriage or relationship is an illusion; there's no universal playbook for making them work. What's effective for one couple may not apply to another. Nevertheless, I've come to understand that there's always a solution to be found. Half a decade ago, my wife and I faced such trials in our marriage that divorce seemed inevitable. Both presented themselves as gentlemen (dinner, movies, etc) but were actually players. Even typing this makes me laugh. Despite, oxygen tanks, clacking dentures, frequent runs to the toilet, they are still playing the field. So instead of being a part of their game, I travel with my girlfriends.

Some women will marry for companionship as it's easier for couples to be social vs singles.

So, here I am with my dog, renting a cute little townhouse. I love my work and have a side hustle at a friend's shop. I travel with friends, visit with my sister more regularly than when I was married, and my son checks in with me regularly to make sure I'm okay. It's a very good life. Found your channel happenstance, lucky me ! I know for sure as we get older we must be positive in everything. I find it a bit challenging , peoples mindset. I’m a happy go lucky person who loves to and want to try new things learn new things travel ,meet people , dance etc. How I would love to meet someone like that even just a little. He doesn’t have to be extreme just content and down to earth
and positive. It is so good for our health.

I’m married (happily) and 68. What you said about traveling with someone you’re dating being a good way to find out if you are compatible is spot on! When I was 26 I had been dating a 38 y/o man for three years. We went on a cruise and that was the end of us! 🤣🤣🤣 Within a couple months I met my now husband in my apartment building that my dad owned. He is 5 years younger than I. I prayed to God for this one. We have been together 42 years. He is a tradesman. The other man was a business CEO. Nite and day difference and everyone said I could do better than my current husband. I knew they were wrong because God answered my prayers. If anything happens to one of us, I doubt dating would ever work for either of us. I’m an independent person who needs lots of space. Good luck to you! Glad it’s working. I agree, it would be really hard to date at this stage in life so I just wouldnt entertain the idea.

I’m 56 and my girlfriend is 60 and we’ve been together about 6 months. We met organically at our local washateria about 8 months ago. I was a weekly customer and she worked there so we met on her first day, had an instant connection and enjoyed each other’s company every week from then on. We officially started dating 6 months ago and went through a brief rough patch as she suffers from depression and I was learning how to best support her; but, she’s come out of that now and we have been very happy. ❤
We are both introverts and very independent but do eventually plan to move in together one day. She has grown kids (I don’t have kids) and I own a house (she does not so she’s free from any financial obligations and can move in with me as soon as we’re ready). I think of course there are hurdles to overcome when you’re merging two established lives together but that’s part of what makes life interesting and fun! We’re excited to be together and building a life together. Oh yeah, and sex is still great fun too! 😊

Wow I’m amazed at the negative comments 😂
I’m 65 and met the love of my life at 63, online dating, and he is 2 years younger than me.
My criteria was that I would not settle for someone again who did not add value to my already great single life of 5 years. And that is what has happened. I have now been in a relationship for 3 years with the most amazing loving person I have ever met. ❤
We feel like teenagers and add so much to each others lives!
I also changed career from school teacher to online business at the age of 60. It’s an easy set up business in a box which I now teach others to do. We have a global community of loving people in the same business, growing together in personal development so life in my 60’s is fun, travel, abundance, and love.
Don’t restrict yourselves to how you think “ it should be” for women in their 60’s, because the mind is your only limitation. 🎉👌💫

I started dating someone at 61 after being single for 13 years. We were together 10 months and split up, and reunited 15 months later, at which time we were both in a better position to explore the relationship and see where it might take us. It has been a huge learning experience for both of us. We have been back together for 18 months now and planning for the future together. My advice? Just because we are older doesn’t mean we need to rush things, on the contrary, take the time to allow things to naturally unfold. In doing so you will have the opportunity to get to know one another better and you will also be building a more solid foundation for a long term relationship. Taking your time also builds trust between you. We all come with a history at this stage in our lives and if our partner gives us the time we need to feel comfortable with the idea of a new direction in life it can truly grow a level of confidence within the relationship and within ourselves. It sure is different starting a new relationship at this age but don’t let anyone tell you it can’t be exciting or fulfilling because it can. Just give it a chance, give yourself a chance too. You might be pleasantly surprised.

I immediately ended the "relationship" and put him on call-block. One thing that I won't do is settle for less. I'm optimistic that there are good Christian men who want the same thing that I do. I enjoy his company, but yes the challenges are very different when dating someone younger. He loves to travel, and I feel like I've done all the traveling I want to. I have more anxiety now about airports, etc. we've been together for 9 months. I do urge him to try dating someone younger with more energy. I have been going to the gym for over a year so I try to keep myself physically able, but that is just a part of some of the things. He has no grandchildren, but I have 2 and have a regular weekend taking care of them every other week. He doesn't mind, but he is still working full time and will retire in a year. Not sure how things will work out when he retires, as he does love to be with me when he is off. Anyway I'm glad I found your channel. so sweet of you to offer help at this age. What a valuable subject matter , dating over 60, Just turned 64 and as a ex pro-athlete and world traveler I dont have body issues that effect my self esteem. The problem i am concerned about is men dont take care of their bodies and you notice early on nmental illness , ex wifes and physical ailments. Who wants that if you are in excellent physical and mental shape. I stay involved in competitive sports such as tennis, etc. I only had one child who is independent and long gone. Age doesnt bring wisdom and maturity. A full diagnostic is neccessary and a serious talk about mutual relationship goals and gender roles within a relationship. You never want someone from a different socio-economic status who freaks out over dinner because he can only afford the salad instead of a 4 course dinner.

My sister group and I were meeting up, so I looked it up as a stop on my way. My tips for women traveling solo and abroad would be to 1) Be very aware of your surroundings 2) Book your dinners early 3) Have your cocktails either in your room, in the lobby of your hotel, or limit it to one drink at dinner (I love champagne and Prosecco - smile) 4) Middle Eastern men tend to be aggressive, so be firm. 5) Amazon has a hotel door lock (get one or use your suitcase as a barrier 6) Pickpockets love purses (use a fanny pack) 7) Don't ever give up an opportunity to travel (The world is so exciting) Lastly, you know what is good for you. Wishing you tons of great travel ahead. I leave for Madagascar for the holidays.

These channels make me so grateful for my parents who worked through difficult things.
They weren’t perfect, of course. Sometimes I wished for different parents.
But I think it was because of them that my husband and I have been happily married for over 30 years.
I’m 61 now and can’t imagine what it would be like to start “dating.”
The adjustment to another person’s way of being and the flexibility to go with the flow - and the respect for each others alone time - this is something married people learn through the years.
I feel like dating, whether you’re young or old, has never been something I wanted to do.
My husband and I were friends for two years before we went out romantically and then we got married within a month or two.
I’m seeing so many older ladies who are all alone, and don’t know it but are in some danger living in their van and traveling alone.
It’s a free world, but there are definitely consequences (good and bad) to taking a non traditional route in life.
    I’m glad you aren’t alone…

I love me. Ive been married and it just isn't for me. I used to think i was supposed to be with someone and feel lonely when I wasn't with someone... but that was just a phase. At this point in my life, I LOVE my peace! I dont need the company of any one but God and a few good phone conversations every now and then with friends. Who by the way, none of them are happy in their marriages but stay because of what they would lose. Thats not the life I choose.

thank you for sharing your video. so many people are kind of set in their ways, including me. I really like a lot of time by myself. I wouldn't mind going to a few things together.

Thank you for a very interesting video. Great information on how to date after age 60!! One 'pro' is that a person by that age should have a good idea of what type of people they feel most comfortable with..and that helps to avoid being with people that we know are not compatible with us. Getting older has advantages as well as disadvantages..but we can be grateful for all the wisdom we acquire as we get older and more mature!!

I like staying as a “friend”. I’m not ready for a committed relationship because I like to sometimes do things solo. I don’t want to get into “trusting” because it’s not guaranteed to last even after 60.
