      @Oseni03 Thanks for the opportunity to comment! There are a lot of grant management platforms out there that I'm sure you're investigating already, so I have two immediate thoughts outside of (though maybe parallel to) those systems: (1) My concern with AI at the moment is that search results are general, outdated, and when I request links, I get the (outdated) homepage of a funder, not the page with the actual grant info. Getting current, detailed, well-linked data from AI would be good. (2) For small business in particular, make sure that the search responses clearly indicate whether the fund is a grant, loan, or other format. Grants are especially limited in supporting small business, so clarity of the actual scope of the opportunity would be helpful.

      @lenadams7204 The principles of writing a strong proposal are the same, but the links for more information are different. I found these links. Do they help? www.morecommunityfoundation.org/ and www.firelightfoundation.org/african-indigenous-grantmakers-and-community-foundations

    Thanks. 10% seems low for review. Do you think the government needs to encourage more grants. Also why do Foundations hoard so much money?

    • @grantchatter
      @grantchatter  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks for watching that far into the video! The 10% review comment is an indicator of how many proposals are submitted that are incomplete, or are not a match to what the funder is looking to support. Foundations are required by law to give a percent of the interest they make on their investments, and they typically give at least twice that amount.

      @@grantchatter So some are poorly written?

    • @grantchatter
      @grantchatter  Месяц назад +1

      Great questions! According to those stats, about 90%. Which is why I can say that writing well and meeting grant funder requirements sets you so much higher on the list of grants that get reviewed, and hopefully funded.

      @@grantchatter Thanks. Is grantwritingusa a good inperson class to take?

    • @grantchatter
      @grantchatter  Месяц назад +1

      I have heard of that company, but am not overly familiar with it. I checked their website, and they do appear to offer a lot of classes that are relevant to building up a grant career. And the membership in the Grant Professionals Association (logo at the bottom of the home page) indicates that they are supposed to agree to a code of ethics in the world of grants. So I can't say yes or no. I did a little google searching, and it looks like Udemy has multiple classes, and so does Ed2Go, www.ed2go.com/courses/business/operations/ilc/get-grants . The Ed2Go site gives you the biographies of the instructors. Again, I don't know them well enough to advise one over the other; I just wanted to share options. This makes me think that this would be a good video idea, though!
