I don't know why but I thought tteokbokki was intimidating to cook. It always looks delicious though. And I like that you also showed how to use sweet potato noodles. That looks like a great rainy day or any day meal.
I've always wanted to try Korean food because the ingredients are so similar to my home food ( Indian) but I was always unable to since I'm purely vegetarian. But seeing your channel for the past few months, makes me feel so much more comfortable and welcomed to a cuisine outside of my own culture. Would love to try these one day, thank you so much for your voice and your presence, Joanne ma'am. Loads of love from India. ❤
i love how authentic your pantry and fridge is. i have never made tteokbokki from scratch but i do enjoy it! also so mesmerized by your chopping skills. 냠냠!
Joanne Lee- Thank you for showcasing this wonderful meal. I've never heard of kim-mari before but it looks simply delicious. I have to get nori & apple syrup so I can make it. Please keep sending us interesting recipes. I've never been much of a veggie eater but due to health issues, I seriously need to incorporate more veggies into my diet. What you made in this video is definitely doable for me. I'm so excited to try kim-mari. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 고마워요, 고마워요, 고마워요! gomawoyo, gomawoyo, gomawoyo!
Deedee! Thank you for this comment!! And you don't need apple syrup for the kim-mari recipe--that's just what I had. You can use any sweetener, like maple syrup, agave syrup, or even sugar. Just a little sweetness to give the flavors a bit more complexity!
@@TheKoreanVegan Thank you for the suggestions on sweeteners. Now I just need the nori. I really can't wait to try this dish. I can never figure out what to have for a healthy snack & this really fits the bill. Thanks again.
Woooooow, this looks amazing. I’ve been looking for a tteokbokki recipe that wasn’t super intimidating and this seems perfect. And the kim mari…😮 I need to try that ❤. Thank you 😊
I have given up making tteokbokki from scratch and buy every possible brands to try in the market instead. Yes, I am a lazy and not so talented Korean:) I am just so amazed how your dish looks so scrumptious compared to mine! You keep making marvelous tteokbboki and I will keep buying new brands!
Koreans eat some sort of soup during early summers..iam assuming using ginseng or something.? Can you make a video about it and the recipe ❤❤Kitchen stories are back
Hi! I recently got your cookbook - what a masterpiece! It made me cry and it also taught me new vegan recipes. My diet is not entirely vegan, but I try to incorporate as much plant-based meals as possible. Who would have thought that my partner and me will one day be fighting to get the last piece of fried tofu made according to your recipe? :) Thanks!
I made this today! Thanks to you I got to try Tteokbokki for the first time. Thanks so much for sharing your recipes! Is it supposed to be super chewy or did I under cook the rice cakes?
You're probably not cooking it long enough. Even with the most frozen tteokbokki, if you cook it long enough, it'll get super soft, almost like cheese. If you run out of liquid to continue cooking, just add a little more broth or water. HOWEVER, if you wait too long after cooking it, it'll get chewy again--especially if it was frozen to begin with. Best to eat it IMMEDIATELY!
I made this after watching the video. It was super fast and delicious. Thank you!
omg THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

Just regular tteokbokki like you made is my favorite.😋 I cant do pink version, or topped with cheese.
Potatoe starch label ist cute 🥰

MERCI,looks fun to di
Yes .
Have no idea what that was but looked yummy.
Yummy Ricecakes with a hot/spicy sauce!
I love Tteokbokki but it's so bad for my blood sugar. I've yet to find a diabetic-friendly alternative for rice cakes 😅
Would brown rice cakes be better? If you go to the Korean grocery store, they'll often have fresh brown ricecakes!
❤💙💚
my tteobokki is always chewy? how do i make it soft (from frozen) as in Australia we dont get fresh tteobokki?

But how can they be made less spicy? I would love them like that, but I feel my throat and lips protesting 😢
Just skip the gochugaru and only use gochujang! And use maybe half of the gochujang called for in the recipe!
@TheKoreanVegan thank you! Is there something else to calm gochujang too just a bit? 🙏
Can anyone tell me what song this is? 🩶
Please tell me that your counters are not that cluttered..
Vous êtes trop belle madame
Who is filming? I cannot believe you're doing all that by yourself...
She actually is most of the time! Another reason to love her videos even more.
There is so much more death for you to get your tofu than me, my burger.
weird.
Romantic, slightly melancholy, soulful K-drama vibes. 😉🫰
