I had a 95' 4runner given to me the Gate was rotted out And by luck i found one about 50 kms from me for $200 in the ad it said no rust no dents and the bouns when i got to his house. It was off a Japan model (SURF) and black like my truck also came with a Haynes Manual and a paper with this : Ground: white with black stripeWindow Motor: red with blue bands, green with red bands; both thicker gauge wires than the rest.Back Up Lights: red with white stripe License Plate: green with red bands;
hahaha I could use some of that 5 hour energy crap right now. The wiring part is making me really confused lol I always thought the 4runners had a hatch in the back like my mom's TrailBlazer, and that you were just calling it a tailgate, guess not!
Sometimes it depends on where the truck was first sold. Calif. trucks are sometimes different with some smog crap . Same with ones sold in Canada compared to US models .
Excellent post, this is one of the next steps on my 95 yota before I get into body work (ugh!), are you on Yota Tech? shoot me a pm with your username if you are, I have a few questions, thanks!
@analog56x That's why I was thinking about getting a Wrangler. Nobody sells their Tacomas around here, and the people that do want 8 grand for a truck that's 10 years old, but there's Jeeps everywhere, and a lot cheaper and sometimes newer.
RobertMOdell my dad was a tech at toyota and logged into the diagnostic website. I searched around for the harnesses i needed, downloaded them and put them on my phone. You could find them online though, i think its the toyota fsm for whatever year and model you are looking for. Should have harnesses snd stuff in there
I think the bad berry taste of the 5 hour energy gives you the first jolt while the caffeine in the drink is kicking in HA HA

@231flash yea, there are slight differences is US/Canada/Euro models.
Is there a more descriptive video of removing and reinstalling a tailgate?
@analog56x Oh ok, that makes sense. My dad's friend had a first gen with the removable top, I never saw it but my dad said it was nice.
