The brake valve discharge always had that distinctive sound without exception. Couldn't see the shift pattern plate on the dash. What's the engine and transmission in your MC-9?

Gotta love that sound, for real for real. If a “9” doesn’t have it I feel cheated. LOL!

I know. I love that sound. I miss hearing it. One day before I die I will have an MC9...

Now by looking at the shift lever, some of these had this shape but the bend in the shift tube was routed to face the door. Mid-American Coaches owned a fleet of these. I wonder if these were the last buses with the manual transmissions MCI built or was it the MC10 being the last ones with the manual transmission.

We gotta do a colab man. Both our buses side by side and do a reaction to each of our buses (although I drove MC9 for years)

I’m also curious what engine and transmission you have. I only caught one trip in an MC9, but it had suffered the unholy conversion to a 6V92 with an HT-740, so I didn’t get the full experience like you present here.

Definitely is the 5-speed manual and sounds like the 8V71.
