Great voicing in the left hand! The little things matter so much in Chopin.
Thank you - yes they do!
Thank you for pointing that out
Out of all the pianists on RUclips you inspire me the most to practise and properly chase my piano aspirations. I'm kinda terrible, but maybe one day I'll get there. Keep up the good work, Paul.
One of my favourite Chopin etudes 😊, you perform to so wonderfully!
Top! Congrats, Paul Barton! Thank you so much!
Great video quality Paul! Not to mention the sound and playing..
Beautiful performance!
Even when this sounds difficult, the reality is that it's one of easiest etudes from Chopin
Easiest doesn't mean easy! I'm learning it rn as first Chopin etude, not easy at all but doable
@@francescololiva5826 i agree😂😂😂 I am learning this piece to and it is sooo difficult 😞
@@dungnguyenkieunmy5505 i feel your pain mate
Yeah right. Pieces with ordinary repeating arpeggios and distinct far-enough spaced chords are easier than this, like op 10 no 12. Granted, not his hardest etude, but definitely one of the harder ones at speed.
Bastante impresionante, me encanta cada interpretación que haces Paul
Simplemente el gato fernando A opinando de youtube
Very nicely played indeed!
My day genuinely gets better when i get a notification from Mr. Barton.
Thank you for sharing your God given talent with us good sir 🙏🏻.
So beautiful. This makes my day💖
What a superb performance! Have you ever considered recording the Art of Fugue Paul? It would be fascinating to hear your take on it, given the outstanding caliber of your performances of the WTK!
Many Thanks for all the exceptional performances and tutorials with which you have provided us over the years!
Hi Peter -- thank you so much for the encouragement. Art of Fugue: would love to have a go. I used to play them in my early 20's. Perhaps after I finish the French Suites?
@@PaulBartonPiano it would be wonderful
@@PaulBartonPiano Thanks for the response Paul, that would be great! You are an inspiration.
@@PaulBartonPiano I know I’ll be listening….
Absolutely beautiful
Beautiful!
Great interpretation! 👍🎹
You're amazing, bro
🇧🇷👏 Maravilhosa leveza e interpretação. Excelente para a mão direita.
Even at 60fps the camera can't keep up with Paul's fingers! Bravo!
Oh wow! Amazing.
Fantastic 👏
WOOOOOOW! You play so amazingly. I like it so much. It ´s beautiful 🙏🏼😃😃😃🎹🎹👍👍👍

Wow! Get it, hoss!
te amo paul
Thxxxx u sooo much ♡♡°
You are awesome how long did you practise for this song. BEES!
I practiced it MANY years ago and it kinda stays with me. It's deceptively difficult to play - at least it is for me.
@@PaulBartonPiano do you think i can do it with 7 years of piano school
@@PaulBartonPiano no, it isn't difficult for you! I'm starting this today and I can tell you it will be very difficult for me hahah (my first Chopin etude, 2+ years of piano study)
Good!
Sir can you play riders of doom from Conan the barbarian. Such a fan of your work
Why we still need Czerny if we have this
강아지왈츠 단조ver. 인가요?
This must be an etude for triplets! I had trouble doing the triplet part in Minute waltz...
😱♥️
Hello!
Hello Paul just out of curiosity how old were you when you first started to play piano?
Thanks
😀😀😀👍👍
Paul Barton, Beethoven's sonata op. 31, no. 1 piano please.
you currently practicing it?

I love your music. But I miss the elephants.

Sounds so much like fantasie impromptu
Wow !! 😂😅😊
I hear the etude, but I don't hear Chopin. With equal success you could play Czerny. Nobody would trace the difference
Flight of the BumbleBees!
Cuando arrancó pensé que tenía el vídeo en x1,5... pero no
Bruh how… I have spent about 3 weeks on this piece and it sounds so mushy compared to this no matter how I try and pedal. I think my fingers on my right hand are not well grounded and my left hand is not expressive enough so it sounds like a blob of mess xd
Good one. Keep practicing more and stay closer to how the piece is supposed to sound like. First of all, the rhythm is not precise (I can't hear the triplets of the right hand). .The different rhythms of the LH and RH is what makes this etude difficult and an actual Chopin's etude, without it it is a very easy and simple piece. Secondly, the playing should be as fast but with a soft touch of the keys.

You are playing this incorrectly. Your right hand is not playing triplets as written. You have turned the pattern into 6 over 3 which renders the two triplets into three sets of duplets. The technical difficulty of this piece is the 4 triplet pattern against a 6 quarter note (crotchet) pattern. You’ve removed the difficulty by doing what you’ve done.
Agree, I'm studying it in triplets but it's so hard
Isn't 12 divided by 6 just 2?
How can you make these triplets hearable when you play a base note every 2 notes of the melody anyways?
@@Mazurking that's the point and the hard thing of this piece, you have to make the triplets "normal" to hear and the sx "wrong" to hear. Almost no one does that. The comment of Bart Watts is about this
@@Mazurking you have to practice with metronome and each beat is a triplet. It helps a lot
@@francescololiva5826 yeah I just figured before you commented. That makes it indeed quite hard. I normally just tap my feet instead of metronome though 😂
ARE you panist? It's wonderful play!
Much as I respect Mr Barton, this is an example of how not to play this etude - accents are all wrong and there is no real phrasing in this interpretation which gives you a feeling of a machine or computer playing.
His playing is pretty heavily processed in post
For my money, too rushed and unemotional. Superb playing, but I prefer others....e.g Ashkenazy
