This was such a treat. Ive been an enthusiastic Judokafor 21 years. At 46 year old 3rd Dan I am very satisfied with the time I have spent in the art. Several injuries have now retired me from the active practice of Judo but I am looking forward now to coaching young and energetic judoka in this chapter of my life.
Anton geesink was a 21 time europese champion,3 times world champion and won gold at the olympics! Be proud of ur own Judo👌, this tree trunk of 2mtr and 120+ would have sweeped the floor with you😂😂.. Pure raw strenght this man posessed!! The first world champion who was not Japanese! Also he is one of only 18 people in the WORLD who has a 10th DAN! ANTON GEESINK IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE A LEGEND IN THE JUDOKA WORLD.!
Henk Hovenkamp, I struck a nerve there. How about you settle down, huh? I know precisely who these men are, meant no insult, and you presumed quite a bit.
What do i presume? That u are proud of ur own judo, or that he would wipe the floor with you despite beeing proud of ur own judo? Only mentioned facts that u are also quite aware of right..? btw..did u also knew that Anton introduced the blue Judogi. Keep up the practice, if u ever should come to holland message me, will proudly show u a few of Anton his tricks he taught me 30years ago. Im perfectly zen btw.. But when i see sb is proud of their own judo (which i respect ofc) but taste like u would be better now than Anton was back in the days i had to rearrect! So for that i just wanted to make a little statement.. I M proud for who he was, what he did, teached and all the inspiration he gave us. Anton is gone, but never away.. His legacy will live forever..
Back in the days before weight classes. The guy definitely used his strength to get that poor sasae tsurikomi ashi throw. His 3 failed uchi mata's just couldn't cut it.
@@SimonEdwards-o6c Hiza means knee, specifically, knee wheel....and the foot goes above the knee. Below the knee, most importantly at the ankle is sasae, propping drawing ankle throw.. Watch it again. I did, since my comment was 5 years ago.
No? What are you rambling about? A headlock is a maximum of 20 seconds, and if it was a chokehold, then the referee would have called ippon the moment the Japanese man would have choked out.

?? The difference may have been 10-15 lbs... He was very tall but the weight doesn't look different at all.
For starters it was hiza guruma

Geesink, master of judo.
Ja mijn adem stokt nog.
Old judo!!
1:07 "Geesink probeert voor de 1e keer een uchi-mata" ... Niet waar. Op 0:31 probeert hij het ook.
What is the weight of anton?
Hiromi Tomita Judo. You Tube.
waren de kilos wel het zelfde?
DIt was de OPEN categorie, dus geen gewichtsklasse. Volgens mij was Sone wel een stukje lichter dan Geesink.
teddy renier fr 100 plus is meer eerlijk.
