I do agree with Japanese and Thai. I know not the same. I also think authentic food is almost always good unless you’re allergic, or bad food is made so spicy that you don’t realize how bad it is. Some people enjoy that pain for some reason… so who am I to tell them it’s bad.
It is actually mayonnaise! In most English books and articles it says it is hollandaise but it’s an error that was made when translating escoffiers original text. Alex French guy cooking has video about it!
No its not, it uses butter as the base of the sauce which makes up like 70% of the final product and dutch Mayo or frietsaus is really sweet, hollandaise is tangy, salty and buttery. Completely different
It’s actually Ketchup, Mayonaisse, Mustard, Hot Sauce, and Ranch.
Those are the father sauses 😂

I would add mayonnaise, but then again, I'm Swedish.
Mayonnaise före brunsås är galet!!

Why are they called mother sauces
Some are named after their region/inventors national, some are named after their main ingredient as they should be 90% that lol
They come from Europe so they have European names

I have a question.. One day, when i grow up, can i be a mother sauce? Or should i just give up on my dreams of being a mother sauce?

No cheese sauce?😭🙏
That would fall into the béchamel category.
Is it hollandaise? Not mayonnaise?

Hollandaise isn't a mother sauce
