After watching this video I loaded up Naval Action, got into a Questmaster battle vs a 6th rate. He was nearly dead to sinking, so I go in for 1 more broadside. I go against the wind because I figure the battle will be over after I shoot him. He ends up boarding me and by using this tactic especially with defend and brace vs deck guns I was able to live with lower than 10 morale for like 10 rounds and comeback to make him lose all his morale! Thank you so much KairoS!
Thanks for these videos on naval action, there is very little content on RUclips and very little updated information on the Internet, these tutorials are worth gold
To be honest I’m more of a sinker than a boarder. That’s why I fly BlackBeards flag. I give the npcs no mercy 😅lol but I really like this video it helps a lot especially if I choose to start boarding the enemy npcs. Thanks man
@kairos4486 hey I've tried this out and it seems that either I'm encountering a bug or the mechanic has changed, maybe you could help - When I'm waiting to "ambush" the enemy ship with an attack the button will become unavailable halfway through the round preparation. This actually happens with all functions for me. So if I don't select something at the beginning I will remain in brace in that round no matter what. I literally just lost a ship due to this so I'm not sure what I've done wrong (I'll note that I have enough preparation to execute the attack)
It does sound like you're low on preparation; but if you're sure it's high, and the buttons are still greying out half way though, then I would guess it might be some kind of bug. I recommend asking around on the Naval Action Official Discord.
anyone know if this still works? trying to learn the game, when i tried this i could only do brace one time, after that it was grayed out, i had 80 plus preparation.
Sorry for the late reponse, I don't get notifications from youtube sometimes. But to answer your question, I think this would not work so well now, as the boarding got a major updated a while back.
Is it me or did you not actually explain much at all here? You say it's rock paper scissors, without saying which is which and what beats what. What's the difference between brace and defend? How does Preparation work? What is the significance of marines and muskets? All I learned is 'attack at the last second' and I don't know why.
It depends on how good the ship is. Usually I sink them because I have missions to kill 5th rates running, and you get more experience for sinking them.
Generally I find the best way to make money fast is to get some high quality trade items and sell them at the ports which consume them. However, if you're new, you can make a decent amount of reals by doing cargo missions and capturing AI trade ships to loot their cargo.

Sadly, it happened to be a really bad time to update your excellent tutorials. Hopefully it didn't discourage you in updating them again soon!

Well done! I'm glad I could help you save your ship.

Thanks for the kind words. I do my best to help new players get into the game.
Thank you for doing this, it's helped my boarding attempts a lot :)
You're welcome
This will help so much as i was wondering why I kept loosing every time and couldn't really defeat them
I'm glad I could help you out. The game really doesn't have a tutorial for boarding, so a lot of people have trouble with it.
Just realized I saw you on the game today, keep it up man
I was online today, I've still got some grinding to do
I look forward to more tutorials!
I just uploaded a new one.
You make this look so easy lol. I keep getting my butt kicked by AI with boarding
Just follow the pattern I use here and you'll be fine. And always make sure you have marines.

Great video, lets see if I can finally capture an AI trader now!
Good luck!
Any chance of a tutorial on accurate gunnery to take down masts? (aka Majorstrain)
Hello, mate. I'll hopefully cover that in a gunnery tutorial eventually. We'll see how the update changes things first though
@@kairos468 Thanks. Cool to see you on the high seas tonight

Haven't played for a long while. Is it worth getting back into? Tyne Tar .... whatever number I am now.

I'm also curious.

Are the ships not worth capturing and selling?

Well done😃 Suggestion, up the voice audio a bit. Otherwise spot on!
Yeah, someone else mentioned the audio is low. I'll have to check my settings
Yeah just saw😊
Did i miss it or did you leaveout bracket fire because its being removed with the coming patch?😊
@@norseman_5334 Well spotted! I left bracket fire out on purpose cause the update notes said it'll be removed.
I knew it! You’re clever man😃
This game looks awesome but I don’t have a pc to install it I use my cousins pc and play other sailing games
It's a very unique game, with quite realistic sailing mechanics. It's also free to play now, so definitely give it a try when you can
@@kairos468 is it always gonna be free?
Thanks for the tips!
You DO know I can board you whenever we meet?
Until then
Haha! good luck to you o7
The audio is a little bit quiet, is there any way you could make it a little louder? Great tutorial as always btw
I don't think I can now the video has been uploaded, but I can try to crank it up on my next video
TY! See you at sea! 8)
Good luck out there!
What’s a good way to grind silver and what ship are you using in this video?

Oh and the ship I'm using here is a Rattvisan
Oh thank you
