Quick tips for Cory:
Get the rope. You can tie it to stuff and fall down to control it like a swing and get to high up areas.
Throw things like lamp posts at the neighbor’s feet to make him fall over. Otherwise throwing stuff doesn’t do that much.
Box stacking is still in the game, so you should really use that to get upstairs.
Open your inventory. There’s a camera and a monitor inside. You can set up cameras to know where he is.
Distract him. You can set things on the stove and turn it on, mess with the T.V, and more. Then you can sneak past him.
He will take you out of hiding spaces if he sees you go inside.
Get the crowbar, for the love of god man. You can open up so much more with it.

Full Story for the first game: The neighbor had a family. A wife, daughter, and son. His wife got into a car accident and had severe injuries. The neighbor was trying to take care of his children. Until his son started to become a bit insane. Which made him push his own sister off the roof. She ended up dying and the neighbor had to bury her body. He soon locked his own son in the basement, giving him everything that he needs to survive. A bed, food, water, ect. People were noticing that children were going missing. So the neighbor created posters of "missing" children.
Then the main character sees the neighbor through the window doing some SKETCHY stuff, a.k.a letting his son out. But he notices us and then decides to basically knock us out and place us back near our own house. As you know the main character does not get the hint to back off and ends up finding a way into the basement. He manages to escape the basement.
Years later the main character lives in the city and gets an eviction notice and decides to move back to his childhood home. The neighbors house is destroyed. Basically when the main character moves back to his childhood home, seeing the neighbors house brought back many memories. So everything after that is an illusion.
The shadow man in the game means "fear". That's why we see the shadow man everywhere (Many grammar mistakes lol)

i think its not about being scared. I think Tinybuild is trying to make the birdman feel weird and creepy. Like at the beginning where he just grabs trash and takes it inside, that adds weirdness to him. His posture, design, and personality are all weird and unsettling. I think his music fits him, but yes it could be scarier.
