I disliked frieren`s manga when i first read it a few years ago, and i still do. But the anime is just a fenomenal take on the story. Its like Frieren was always an enormous complex mechanism that lacked a few of these gears to make it all work. The anime added these gears and it turned out to be something special. Manga doesnt even slightly share the feeling that the anime does. Frieren to me is an absolute example on how to make the adaptation better.
That's very interesting, I've never seen that take before. Usually with subpar adaptations where the source material seems interesting I'll jump into the manga, but for something like Frieren I don't mind staying an anime only (unless the cliffhanger at the end of the season breaks me 😂)
