Hi Ralph,If the speed at which the panel lights flash is not the same as the frame rate of the camera, they will appear to flicker or roll in the video. They’re out of sync.
Hello Kevin Thank you for your encouragement. We had a Weather briefing before the flight and we had no wind that day. At the start as well as during the flight you notice if you have wind and from what direction and then you have to fly to the right side of the mountain to not have a leeward. Check out my video where we flew with wind at the same place. ruclips.net/video/jBV8zT6T5ak/видео.html Look at the flag on the building for wind indication.
@@dxhunter5277 - I'll check out the video... I just need mountain training. When I was on my solo cross country many years ago, I was flying over a mountain (in a hughes 300) and I was not the 1/2 the height above the mountain rule -- the mountain was about 3000 ft and I was about 3500 instead of what I was taught, which would have been 5250 ft. The mountain was notorious for a daily 30-50 knot steady wind (so strong it makes one of those giant American Flags blow straight out) any it was an easy flight until I got to the leeward side... then it was like I was in a river of air flowing down to the 8 lane highway below... I was full throttle, full collective and just kept going down like I was a toy. Fortunately, about 200 ft from the highway, the air river flattened out and I was able to surf it back to altitude, but it was so frightening, I just want to avoid mountain all together. When I saw your original video (above) I was hoping to get some sort of free mountain training ground school :-)
Thumbs Up #100 Hughes 500's & MD530's are one of my favorite helicopters, stunning footage Huge Like 👍😎
How lucky can one guy be? Apparently some can have all of it. Beautiful 😊
Gorgeous ...surprised it's not a brighter color for in case of search and rescue
Beautiful helicopter and scenery!!!
Epic. I fly that all the time in flight sim. Beautiful bird. A dream.
Short video but it was really nice to watch.
Hi Andy here a longer video. ruclips.net/video/i_O2nPYXEc0/видео.html
I mean.. doesn't get much better than this.

I have close to 500 hrs in one of these in Iraq. Learned more in those hours than any other time in my life.
Hi David, have you flown for the US.Army?
@@dxhunter5277 No I wish, a small company contracted by U.S. Department of State. Delivering....you know, stuff.
Love to flying
Silly question, but how come the glass panel blinks like that?

@@dxhunter5277 right on, thanks!

Isn't it dangerous to fly so close to mountains? How do you know where the leeward wind is or is not?
