- A new bank locker rule has come into effect from January 1, 2023, according to a Reserve Bank of India (RBI) notification. Over the past few days, many lenders have sent text messages to customers to renew their safe deposit locker agreements. As part of this, existing locker depositors were required to furnish proof of eligibility for a renewed locker arrangement. Additionally, they were required to sign a renewal agreement by December 31, 2022.

Madam, I being a Imperia customer, HDFC Bank, offers the Locker facility, free yo me, basis my maintaining in SB AC with Rs 10 Lakhs, otherwise the annual rental is around Rs 8000, so will I be compensated for the Liss if any, as stated by U.
RBI directive was issued in Jan,2022 about revised agreement for bank locker but my SBI branch notified me in Dec,2022. How is it possible for elderly persons like me to complete the agreement in one Month? There is a scarcity of Stamp paper, not available. Why bank could not provide the Stamp paper.
My daughter is an OCI and resident of UK, she has the access to locker whenever she visits us. How can I get her signature? She has only PAN, but no Aadhar. To get her signature I have to spend Rs. 6000 for return Courier service. Will bank reimburse this unforeseen expenditure?
Why in SBI they are not allowing us to use the our locks to lock the locker. (off course we have one key and the bank has another key) but if the baker has a duplicate key then , they can open it right. Because i dont find any camera inside the locker room. please advice

It is high time for businesses to consider this profitable and hv separate locker facilities, with insurance cover, etc as a separate business, just the way ATM are operated and accessible 24 /7 .

Banks nowadays do not give the new lockers easily as they ask customers to fds or some insurance and only if we do that they allot new locker.its like blackmailing...any thoughts on this?

Yes. In my case they are asking compulsory investment in icici. Or tata scheme mini 5 years. And I asked them about FD they totally deny any deposit facility.

@@RimujiFoods before reaching the ombadsman you need to go through the hierarchy of authority which is denying you locker . You need to have proofs before going to ombadsman

जब कभी नया लॉकर एलोट होता है उसकी चाबी सील्ड कवर में बंद हो. आप ऐसी खुली चाबी मत ले क्योंकि इसकी डुप्लीकेट चाबी बनाकर रख सकता है? मैंने चाबी बनानेवाले लॉकर के अंदर बैठकर चाबी ताला दुरुस्त करते देखे है!
