If you'd like to react more to Canada, I suggest: Gander's Ripple Effect, The One Eyed Scout, The Halifax Explosion, The Worst Natural Disaster in Canadian History (1998 Ice Storm) and Terry Fox (tissue warning for this one) Also, Geography Now!'s Canada and Canada's Heritage Minutes

In all 239 planes with 35,000 passengers would land in Canada. (including those heading to the west coast). All would be looked after much the same way as those in Gander. Gander's story was turned into a Tony Award winning musical called "Come From Away!" In a sad aside, Beaula Cooper's firefighter son would pass away from work related cancer and the O'Rourkes would be there.

Thanks for your reaction. The CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) short documentary "Gander's Ripple Effect" also explores this as well as the development of what became the Broadway musical "Come from Away".

So many people forget that there was a 4th plane aimed at the White House that the passengers took back from the hi-jackers and crashed into a field.

I just found your video on my FYP. I love watching reactions to this story as it shows how Canadians are but most importantly how Newfoundlanders are.
I wish this was shown more, also the broadway play Come From Away. That is a beautiful play about Gander.

I think it would be a beautiful thing for you to try to get the BBC to play this. There is another film about Gander that tells the same story. After Gander happened, they decided to do a Broadway play about the true story of Gander. This other film was done as a “making of” that play. It shows the actors going to Gander to meet the people they play and telling the story of what happened. The people of Gander were the first people to see the Broadway play. They performed right there for them. It’s a great video too and may be one the BBC would rather air.🤗❤️🐝

This deserves so many more likes. I appreciate when Reactors take the time to watch it. Truly incredible story and heals my heart thats been broken since 9/11/01 🫶. The last time I flew I had a panic attack so my world traveling days are over. I love and appreciate our Northern neighbors and everyone who chipped in to help 🇺🇲🇨🇦

Aww thank you for the compliment, I was aware of how important this documentary was to so many people from the comments on my “boatlift” reaction talking about it. I just wanted to try and make sure I gave it my full attention and respect, and to the people involved.
I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had to deal with that too. I know just debilitating panic disorder can be. I hope you can get better soon hopefully take another journey somewhere. 🙏🏻🤞🏻

Edited to say that...I am not sure if you know but the States and Canada have a very special relationship. Canada is our sister country and we love them.

I’m from Dallas TX US and was visiting friends in Epping Essex on 9/11. We went out ti eat. We were approached by volunteer firemen collecting money for the NY fire departments. They talked with us. They were incredibly frustrated. They had no way to get to NY and wanted to help at ground zero. No planes were flying so they were doing what they could. I was so impressed at the courage.

No, you can't compare Dunkirk to boat lift because Dunkirk was conducted in a stormy sea under enemy fire. The distance was greater & the boats were smaller.

    • @YorkshiremanReacts26
      @YorkshiremanReacts26  Месяц назад +1

I know, that’s why I made it clear that during boatlift I wasn’t comparing the two, I was simply pointing out how it could be interpreted as an American version of dunkirk. But of course there are always countless people who are literally waiting in anticipation for people like me in these videos to say something like that so they can jump on it and try make me look like I did/said something wrong. 💁🏻‍♂️😐

Yeah, there was no way I was going to be able to watch them meeting again and keep a dry eye. The stories from this would be enough as it is, but throughout it I was also fully aware of what was the cause of all this. That dark day that I will never forget, despite only being 1 month and 6 days off 6 years old. I could take you to where I watched it.
But of course, it was mostly powerful positive emotion behind this particular story. Learning of something so beautiful being borne out of pure ugliness for the first time in my life, it was a life experience. 🙏🏻

The pentagon DID get hit. Almost 200 people died. I dont understand your point.

@@earlymorningtwilight9119 people who believe everything the media tells them about the pentagon “attack” on that day never do understand. It’s most likely not your fault though.

The algorithm decided to not show this to me until today. Thank you for reacting to this story.
You seemed to have interest and prior knowledge of the airport and air traffic control in Gander. If you are interested, there is a video focussing on the crisis in the sky. Recreation and interviews showing a bit of the decisions being made in the US. Also, pilots and crews on the airplanes, but the primary focus is on the controllers in Gander control and the tower at Gander airport. This is a more in depth look at getting the planes on the ground.
Even if you dont want to react, I thought you might be interested.
