Not much has been done sure from both Nvidia and AMD BUT if you're using an RX 570, RX 580, GTX 1060 and anything below that and are looking for a proper upgrade, this card is great for you. Especially for the 1080p gamers out there like me. It even does 1440p surprisingly well with some lower settings. Very efficient card, decent temps and power usage all around. It even performs incredibly close to the rtx 3060 in raw performance and is much cheaper generally, depending on where you live ofcourse. Do not let "RT features" fool you, that should be used only on high end cards anyway

I'd go for a 2060super for DLSS and such, but too bad the price is insane where I live. People are selling it for ~$800 and not even brand new. Sold my 1650 for $200 and grab a 6600 for $400 instead. Not bad of a card and of course much much faster than that 1650, while eating up very little power.

Back in 2020 I trusted this youtube guy that praised AMD and I bought AMD gpu..since then I got too many problems with the card if you try every games from old to new.. Now I still have the AMD card but use Nvidia as my main rig. Sometimes the frametimes really bad with the AMD card even after I tried every fix that exist on this planet. Game like L4D 2 really stuttery with the new AMD card.
Wondering how well do they fare against each other in ray tracing. Since it's not as mature on AMD's side, testing against a 2060 sounds like a fairer comparison
@@ElSkeppo This is false, maybe in demanding games like cyberpunk but you can use Raytracing pretty easily in games like Doom Eternal, Wolfenstein Youngblood, and Control since they all good DLSS implementations and perform well.
Ray Tracing is just GAY Tracing ! Just an useless Nvidia gimmick, specially on lower-end GPU's ! Gay Tracing is really ONLY interesting, for movie/video producers !
Just to let you know but Digital Foundry put the Xbox Series X at a 2060 Super. The 1080p graphical comparison of these two cards are about a Series X if that is any consideration.

I would not be surprised RX6600 surpasses any gaming card popularity and sales during this year 2022. A used GTX1070 comes close in price and performance but is old card at this point. Gaming at 1080p is perfect. At 1440p I think RX6700xt is the best option. Now Nividia do your homework!
Actually, rx6600 was tested on intel cpu, if you test on new ryzen zen 2 series, there is more FPS can boost compare to intel processor because of amd SAM technology.
Intel also supports it (idk if it was enabled here), just read a manual for LGA 1700 (latest gen Intel CPUs) motherboard, and there is option to enable it

In enhanced tests from 1.0 2.0 3.0 vs 4.0 the maximum difference was 10 FPS on versions 2.0 onwards, so no, you won't get another card in PCI Express 4.0 and you won't feel any difference in practice either.

Near identical in raster and RT for the most part, and sometimes trading blows in sponsored titles. RT still unusable at this class. Same framebuffer size. What Nvidia has in memory bandwidth AMD makes up for with Infinity Cache. Both have a competent image upscaling feature, and regardless what people say DLSS 2.0 and FSR 2.0 look close enough in motion, unless you stop playing and start pixel-peeping because that's a real world scenario innit. Personally I'd use neither. RX6600 uses less energy and so runs cooler, because physics; might be relevant in an ultra compact build. Only advantage AMD has is cheaper FreeSync displays. Nividia's software suite is better, don't care though. So the takeaway is, buy which ever is cheaper. Don't buy into fluff, and maybe get rid of the "AMD worse than Nvidia" stigma if you can. Or spend more like a fool, not my money.

Just got the rtx 2060 super and was cheaper than the rx 6600. So i got it. Plus, no hardware encoder is still a deal breaker for me.

DLSS is a big benefit for the 2060S. I upgraded to a 1440p monitor and DLSS helps with my frames a lot.
