My only complaint about this game and the content surrounding it is that it isn't more popular.
Yeah the Chinese cultivation theme is awesome for games, but most of the cultivation games I've seen are hard to get into because of how complex they want to be.

@@Colruthit's pretty funky sounding, but surprisingly most of the cards end up being pretty clear on what they do.

I've recently played a game called Tales of Immortal on steam, and god is it fun. It's like a 'Rogue Life' instead of rogue lite/like lol. The crazy differences between runs, and how you basically have a true immortal cultivation journey is amazing. You can find dao partners, join sects, be good or evil, idk I just highly recommend it for anyone who likes this game and roguelikes

Regarding the free 3 Def + free chase if Def>0, that only works if the opponent didn't remove your Def during their turn. The +3 Def activates at the end of the turn since it triggers if "you didn't make an attack".
You can see it during turn 1 when you start with no Def, then you get 3 after you play the continuous card.

By the way, If you are sick of the waiting song menu there is another tune in the Settings section which is nice and calm.
I Changed it Recently to reset my Ears back to Default quiteness XD (Peeping the New Card Arts! Nice Legendary *rare* Dragon roam!)

If you're curious, it's all about the mechanic called Growth. If you keep the card in your hand it will upgrade at the start of the next turn.
It also has quite a few consumables cards that trigger growth or give effects at the start of the next battle like increase / decrease attack, inflicting a small amount of damage or increasing HP
That final round was brutal, love that deck.

I bought this wayyy back during the original series cause you made it look so fun, but still never played it myself. lol
I still want to see you check out plant master before this series ends again. It's definitely the most complicated sidejob, but it offers some pretty interesting strategy, with plants that you can save until the right moment and then absorb for bonuses in a tough fight. If you're interested, Lin Xiaoyue and Tan Shuyan are probably the characters who use it best. Tan b/c her passive rewards her for absorbing cards and Lin because she wants to hold cards anyway for her cat chaos sword special card, which works well with plant masters' growth mechanic. Lin Xiaoyue just got buffed in the latest patch, so she might be a fun one to try.
attention all viewers, there is an incredibly cute round borb attempting to fly next to mu in the starting and closing scene. there is also another in his pocket. this must be observed.
oh also all that stuff about wanting to see the series continue. this is very fun!

Do you have a sort of tier list for characters in this game? I feel like you can make any character work so it's hard to see whether there are any obviously better characters (plus, judging from the last video, rebalancing happens sometimes)

Reason By Analogy (the card which says exchange to get a card from another side job) got buffed and it's really good now. I can tell you're used to the old bad one which was an auto absorb but it was buffed to give +1 exchange chance, it's now just a completely free side job card and should always be exchanged before absorbing!
This faction looks simple and fun, I've been trying to break my head with the element alliance and the heptastar stuff but maybe there's fun to be had in playing something simpler
also at 6:30 minor very irrelevant thing: since the attack ignores defense, the defense given to the opponent actually runs out before it can matter, which is pretty neat

Flying Brush into swordformation combo build is so broken for how easy it is to setup. Prefer the build on the Skybracelet lady for that Guard up tho. I find Endurance As Cloud Sea quite useful in being able to chase between Unrestrain Swords.

This build, I feel, is why they made Toni the Tiger. All he needed was an ignore defense card before his payoff, and it would of been trouble.

26:35 I wonder what the interaction between Chain Sword Formation and Rule Sky Sword Formation would be here. If it keeps the chase it would be a clean +4 defense, because in theory it applies it's def, procs the rule sky (ofc we keep the stronger one here), then chases into flying brush. If it doesn't work like tht it wouldn't fit but I am curious
the issue there is that there is no way to copy it and not waste chase while keeping Moon Water Sword Formation (which was definitely integral)
@apophys1110 yes, you _can do it,_ but the delayed chase is better here as it allows for the ability to play _Raven Spirit Sword_ -> Chase -> Mirror Flower Sword Formation which stops a lot of the opponents ability to counterplay by reducing your defense before your payoff card, and was equal to tier 3 rule sky on loop one, and better on every other loop.

Played a few ranked matches last night, and I absolutely crushed the early game, easily getting into the Top 3 and then I just lost it all and came second. As 5 Elements, what am I supposed to do against Unrestrained Sword? They actually scale, whereas outside of Earth and Metal Spirit, 5 Elements has very slow scaling.

Long Yao uses musician to stall the game by giving both players tons of defense, then one-shots the opponent with Mirror Flower Sword Formation because she has the passive that lets her first two attacks ignore defense.

if you're playing against a more aggro deck, or you don't hit, it can get super rough, but that is most decks tbf

bro play "Chain Formation" instead of the second "Rule Sky Sword Formation", it allows for early upgrade on Rule Sky, giving more Def, and then getting the upgrade again for free, and guarantees 0 qi cost! :)

105 damage in a single hit, that's disgusting lmao
There is this really rare cloud sword-related card (remnant cloud pochosky sword) that deal 8 damage for each cloud sword card in your hand. It's very finicky to set up, but when you set it up correctly, you can quite literally deal 200 damage on the very first card you play (albeit at the cost of only having normal attacks for the rest of the deck slots😂).
@@spearsageearth builds can also deal stupid dmg with quick sand (I won a game with a 400 dmg hit recently) although this build has a lot of extremely hard counters

So, I see this is F2P, but is it F2P friendly or are the DLCs worth it?
This game is so unbelievably F2P friendly. The only in game purchases are in game currency to unlock cosmetics and to get new characters faster. But you can realistically unlock every character in the game over time.
extremely f2p, if you aren't playing ranked you won't notice any difference, you unlock characters with in game currency (and get like 4-5 for free really quick) you only need to unlock them to go into ranked with them since normal unlocks them all for free. So best practice is to play normal mode a bunch to figure out who you like, then pick them as one of your free characters if you feel the need to play ranked mode.

I love watching the games you play, but I’ll admit I bounced off this series before giving it a fair chance due to my incorrect belief it was p2w. I should’ve known you wouldn’t play a game like that! Deckbuilders are my favorite (StS and Monster Train being my top two), so this seems like a must play. Thanks again for the reply.

Bruh, you are using a sword formation twice. The chain just copies the other one, +1 DEF. You could stack the two you had, get the level 2 benefit TWICE +1 DEF.
You are yet another wrong person to point this out. No, it copies Moon Water _Sword Formation._ It doesn't work with my line. Come on guys, read the other comments lol. Apologies that you get my wrath, but the more comments about it, the more warnings you should have had lol.
