I've been putting my closest leg back. Now I'm going to have to practice this other way during practice today. I'm newish to hockey and I'm still figuring it out. Thanks for the tips!
I am blind thank you for talking slowly and describing everything you’re doing please keep it up and enjoying your videos again thank you for slowing down my name is charles I’m using my wife’s account
ARE YOU A LEFT OR RIGHT BLADE STICK? Strange detail I read online: In the U.S., players use their dominant hand in the middle of the stick. In Canada and Europe, the dominant hand is at the top of their stick.
dominant hand at the top makes too me more sense coz with the dominant hand ur coordination is more developed and u need that in particular at the top than in the middle of the stick
Same, when I first started I was doing it by blind luck. But since I’ve been working on power I lost lift. One thing he didn’t mention that he does in another video is rotating the top hand wrist to open the blade upon release. Wish I had a home setup to practice but it sounds like that’s the key step for puck lift…anyone please correct if I’m wrong.
Can somebody help me. So im 12 yrs old player and when im shooting from pad (not at ice) my shot is very fast and goes where i want to, but at ice its so slow and not going where i try to.
With this shot, I have good accuracy but I'm not able to use all my power and flex the stick properly. When I do mostly pay attention to power and flexing while I shoot, I lose my accuracy. I did try pulling with the top and pushing with the bottom but it didn't create any flex. I'm 14 and use a 65 flex. Any tips?
A lot of the power from this shot comes from the legs, the hips, and the shoulder / lower arm dropping into the stick, then finish with the pull / push. It takes practice to get good power because you need a good chain reaction of everything working together. You probably are flexing the stick, it happens very quickly. Record your shot on a phone with good slow motion in 240 fps or more if you can and see if you can notice some flex.
@@howtohockeytraining Okay, thank you very much for all of this. I'll also try paying attention to using force from legs, hips, and just overall body momentum. I have also tried recording before and I did notice some flex but it was very minor. I'll try using the technique mentioned and just practice and then record and hopefully see some results. Once again thank you!
Next to no real insight here and no examples of the shot actually being taken not at close range. All this stuff gets beginners excited and would ultimately have minuscule affect. Make no mistake, there’s no actual instruction on how to shoot so that the puck, you know, has velocity on it from farther than five from the net. Bad job for instruction. Good job for most amount of clicks (ie targeting gullible beginners).

If you’re blind why would you need to improve a hockey shot
@@ryanedwards4636 blind hockey
@@Vrokzenyes totally a thing

@@dudemusicofficial yeah i looked it up, sorry
Thank you coach Jeremy you single handedly propelled my team to win state
I told you all this a year ago, that we needed a projection bag. your current throw comes from me, thank you
Put sone weight on your bottom hand to generate flex and add snap/power to your shot as well. This can take a while to learn for newer players.
Awesome video. Great for kids to understand. Thank you.
Love the videos, keep up the great work, you genuinely make the game easier and more fun.
tryouts tmr need to improve shots, thanks!!
Thanks I played really bad yesterday and I shot most of the shots in today
My 'angry face' is the strongest aspect of my wrister. Thanks for all your videos and friendly accessible advice Jeremy.
how to hockey is bacckkkk
Nice video!
I use to suck at wist shots but then I learned I needed to make and angry face while shooting now I’m decent.
Hi Jeremy! Do you have a normal stick length of this movie or it cut for practice in shoes?
When practicing my wrist shot on dry land should my toes be facing the net?
Hey I have a question which tiles do you use? Is it the skate able or the dry land?
Pretty sure he uses hockeyshots tiles that aren’t skateable
Hey so this is my first year and I don’t have good accuracy or power and I’m 14 to what should I do to help me?
There he is! Always make angry faces!
Nice kitchen )))

I noticed that as well. It looks like he's possibly left-handed

I struggle big time with lifting the puck and getting it off the ice on my wrist shots.

So... no using the flex?????
With good technique the flex happens naturally, it doesn’t need to be forced
First! Love these videos!!
Wtf did I just watch, wrong leg unless you weren't going for an in-stride shot
