Didn’t know that, thought Bach only wrote 2 chords and intended a cadenza over those 2 chords. It would then make sense as to why no melody was written, most cadenzas weren’t written out in those days, wasn’t until Beethoven that writing out concerto cadenzas became standard.
Liszt still sounds like Liszt somehow Also, didn’t expect him to show up much less be where he is The others (4-1) I mostly knew about, the rest were new
Regarding the Bach piece: “The second movement consists of a single measure with the two chords that make up a 'Phrygian half cadence and-although there is no direct evidence to support it-it was likely that these chords are meant to surround or follow a cadenza improvised by a harpsichord or violin player. Modern performance approaches range from simply playing the cadence with minimal ornamentation (treating it as a sort of "musical semicolon"), to inserting movements from other works, to cadenzas varying in length from under a minute to over two minutes.” - Wikipedia
Repent and trust in Jesus. He's the only way. We deserve Hell because we've sinned. Lied, lusted stolen, etc. But God sent his son to die on the cross and rise out of the grave. We can receive forgiveness from Jesus. Repent and put your trust in him. John 3:16 Romans 3:23❤😊❤❤

I would like to tell about that there is also an even shorter piece from Liszt's and it is the Ghent Album-Leaf S.163g, it is just 6 notes and almost a 1 or 2 seconds long, I like to spread some Liszt curiosities that probably no one it is interested about lol
The Shortest Musical Piece In The World Is: Instrumental Draft, Bia. 849 (Last Notes By Beethoven). It Was Written On March 1827, Ten Or Twelve Days Before His Death.
I don't think Bach's piece counts. It's only a movement in the concerto, and wouldn't be called a piece by its own, and it's just the first two recovered chords from the movement which was supposed to be longer . The actual shortest Bach piece is BWV 932, which is only 8 measures long (32 beats). I don't know why you chose to measure it using seconds, when that's obviously dependent on the tempo and rubato of the player.

@@SimonGeraedts The second place in this list, that of Bach, has lots of theory behind it. A Phrygian followed by a resolution chord. That is basically an opening and closing of an entire movement simplified.

True genius.
Actually this is the only "Surviving part" of the second movement of the 3rd brandenburg concerto, the rest was lost.

It doesn't really count as a piece, since it is incomplete. Bach probably would never write such short piece/musical fragment.
As a huge fan of Erik Satie, I was absolutely ecstatic when i saw him on this list. Amazing!!!
He wrote one of the shortest and longest piano pieces
Andriessen praised Satie's Short pieces for its impact and profoundness. It never sounds dull or incomplete.
Liszt still sounds like Liszt somehow
Also, didn’t expect him to show up much less be where he is
The others (4-1) I mostly knew about, the rest were new
He uses that chord progression in some of his pieces
sounded like the introduction of Mazeppa
I think it's almost exactly the chord progression before the stretta in Transcendental Etude No.10 (F minor)
Its actually not a fully piece, but a like fragment, his shortest is the Gand Prelude (dunno if i spelled it correctly
Imagine just playing two random chords and just accidently you just performance an entire bach piece

The best short piece is for me clearly Chopin's op 28 Number 22! From Pollini 's old DG record.
Satie is by far the master of short pieces!
I don’t know if I would count Liszt’s album leaves. They are just fragments of finished and unfinished works.
He added cadences to these things and called them preludes though
