- Continuing our "days out tour" due to the covid 19 virus we had a great day touring northwards.
We started by crossing the Humber bridge heading for the Seaways Cafe in Fridaythorpe where we had a stop off and a bite to eat.
We then rode through the North Yorkshire Moors to Whitby. Lunch was fish and chips and then we headed south towards Scarborough.
Olivers Mount Race circuit was to be the next stop and we were to ride around the track on our own bikes. I flew the DJI Mavic pro drone around for a bit for some nice footage over Scarborough and the memorial before heading back home.
We did encounter or Russ encountered a problem with his motorbike at the end as you will see.

Perfect timing for this upload, as a biker and time served attendee of the Whitby Goth Fest (and having made more trips to Scarborough than I care to remember) I was feeling a little sad at not being able to bimble around these places so thanks for letting me enjoy it again via your journey Xx
Hey thanks for taking the time to comment and pleased you enjoyed riding with us. Hopefully we can all get back to some kind of normality next year and do some PROPER touring. Stay safe my friend Xx

What an eventful little ride, and terrific drone footage. Thanks Steve.
Cheers Peter it certainly was eventful ha ha.
That happened to me with my R1200R a few years back . The mast interrupted the signal on the ignition ring , so the bike wouldn't start !
Moved away from it and the bike started .
Nice video .
Thanks for watching Bob and its amazing how many people have commented about their problems with masts. Good to know now and will know what to do in the future if it ever happens again, Stay safe my friend.
HI Steve I was born in west Yorkshire and toured all the around the lakes district, dales and Yorkshire moors When I was very young boy. You are bringing back 100's of family memories. Thank you so much. Loving your series. Incredible videos.

Cheers Phil lucky fella living close to those great roads and scenery and yeah roll on normality next year.
A really enjoyable video of you and the boys with your bikes on a great day out. It would be good to show what bikes you all ride on future videos, or would this be classed as advertising.
Not a bad idea John about the bikes will see if I get chance in future films. Thanks for watching fella.
Steve that one brought back memories, a few years ago I bought a new Honda VFR 800, Honda UK provided a three day riding course, on one of the days our instructor took us through Gothland, Scarbourgh, and Whitby, then back to Lincoln. Great video by the way.
Cheers Alistair pleased it brought back a few good memories and love VFR's by the way, stay safe fella.
Cracking vid Steve. I just did oliver's Mount Circuit for the first time just before #lockdown2.
That last hairpin, Mountainside hairpin, we call it Wilson's corner bcos a couple of years ago, a daft mate of ours went straight on at that bend and straight through the hedge, there's a hole in the hedge now... he was fine. We still can't figure out he did it!
Ha ha brilliant Rich thanks for sharing that story with us, cheers for watching my friend and stay safe.
Just what the doctor ordered for a wet Saturday evening ,great video Steve keep them coming

Thanks Joesph hopefully next year we get to ride a lot more.
Great Video thanks for upload
Thanks for watching mate pleased you enjoyed it.
Hi Steve. Thanks for sharing another great day out with lovely weather and countryside. It must be something with Triumph alarms because I had the same problem with my sprlnt st in Goathland a few years ago and luckily someone there told me to push the bike 100 yards up the road and it was fine. They said it was the RAF base jamming the signal there. Keep safe Mike.
Hi Mike its amazing how many people have commented on having problems with alarms with cars as well as bikes, handy thing to know about if you ever encounter it again. Thanks for watching my friend.
Top draw again fella's,thanks for taking the time to upload ;-)
Ride Safe Baza \m/
PS,The drone malarkey is spot on Cheers ;-)
drone malarkey ha ha pleased you enjoyed it Baza thanks for watching mate.
Nice videos. I can’t believe I’ve just found your channel so been having a binge watch for the last couple of days. I live in Pickering so know this route very well also been riding BMW’s since 1976 and still riding them. Very disappointed not to get any foreign touring this year because of the you know what but hopefully still fit enough for next year. Keep up the good work. Alan,
Thanks Alan pleased you enjoyed it and plenty for you to have a go at. Your lucky living round that scenery mate and yeah fingers crossed next yr we get some kind of normality back, ride safe fella
Another great video Steve was up that way in September myself did Goathland video d it we was stopping in Scarborough so did a few rides out keep em coming mate the fev rider
Thanks Peter (Fev) pleased you enjoyed it and watched your Heartbeat vid mate.
It wouldn't be a bad idea to have a sign up near the entrance to the course explaining the problem
Thanks for the vid pal all the best
Thanks mate and yeah that would be a good idea, a sign warning of the problem you might face with alarms. stay safe fella.
Great video steve brought back lots of memories last time was at olivers mount was the late 60s on a old triumph t100 pre unit model spent more time working it than riding it ha ha good times
Good times indeed eh Jim wow an old Triumph t100 great, stay safe my friend.
Had exactly the same thing last time we went to Holland,on way home called for fuel and one hayabusa wouldn't start after a couple of hours disconnecting battery main fuse and ringing his insurance/breakdown a local told the mast in the yard had the same effect, moved out of garage area and boom away she went,we then had a very quick ride to Europort to catch ferry home!
Amazing David isn't it if that cafe worker had not said anything we were going to disconnect battery. It's something we both know now for the future eh.Thanks for watching my friend.
Great video Steve! Thanks for putting in the hard work to keep us entertained during this second lockdown
No problem Mike pleased you enjoyed it.
Hi Steve. Thanks for all the interesting videos. It feels like we are there with you with the quality. May I ask what drone you use as I have looked and tried to listen but have obviously missed it somewhere. I fancy having a play myself and love the quality of your videos though I appreciate you are experienced. Thank you
Sorry Beryl only just seen this comment don't know how it slipped through as I answer everyone. In answer to your question the drone is the DJI Mavic Pro and is a fantastic bit of kit. Since having it there have been numerous versions and models from DJI but which ever you decide on these are the best. Hope that helps and Stay safe lady.
very entertaining episode, thanks for taking us along Steve, keep safe at this strange time we are living through. Big Dave, Scotland
Cheers Dave pleased you enjoyed it, lets hope we can do a bit of proper touring next year.
Nice to see you again Steve great video
Thanks Lukasz pleased you liked it my friend.
Nice to see you back again.. very enjoyable vid as usual. Wonder how many other bikers have called out recovery from under that mast ?? 👌
Thats exactly what we said fella, bet there's been a few. thanks for watching my friend.
great weather for the trip to whitby, good views over Scarborough with the drone and excitement at olivers mount we used to have cars with the same none start problems if they parked near some telephone masts in Grimsby, great video Steve
Wow Colin didn't realise it effected cars also. Thanks for watching mate
Nice to see you back dude. Hope you and the gang are well. Humber should be an 8th wonder of the world in my opinion
Your right Kevin the Humber Bridge is an absolute wonder and one amazing structure. Thanks for watching fella.
the mast... only with triumphs too.
Thanks for watching Mick I don't know if it is just Triumphs it effects, think any bike with an alarm can be effected,
Hi Steve . I was a bit worried, not seeing posts from you for a while. Happy Days.. :). The crew still ok I see. Missed Derek, he would have enjoyed the circuit on his tiger. The weather bought out the lockdown crowds, but awesome roads. As always FLT ( Fat Lad Trip adviser) routes are top notch. Keep smiling Happy Days
Thanks David really hope next year we can get back to some kind of normality and start PROPER touring again. thanks for the comment fella.
Brill video Steve. I've never been to Oliver's mount. Was gunna go this year. But corona virus stopped us. Enjoyed the tour you guys did. Thanks again for sharing Steve 👍
Cheers David I would recommend you do go to Olivers Mount at some point its well worth a visit my friend.
Great Job Steve, Man looked like Half of England was in Whitby LOL I think everyone was there just for the Fish & Chips Yummyy. Lovely place to visit I bet. Race track looked like good Fun. Man Poor Ol Russ, What a strange thing to happen, looked like he was glad to get back on the road. Anyway, Great Stuff Cheers paul
Thanks Paul yeah Whitby heaving was crazy but a great days riding in all. Ride safe my friend
So glad you've saved this to show us all during lockdown mk2. Extra traffic and people about was really noticeable on our mini tours earlier in the year.
I sat watching this with Carol and when your mates bike alarm went off and he couldn't start it, I said to her move it away from the transmitter. Exactly the same thing had happened to me parked next to a mast in Birmingham, AA rescue moved the bike and it was fine.
Thanks for making the vid, the drone footage especially looked just great.
Thanks Richard and Carol as always nice to receive a comment from fellow vloggers, the mast is certainly something we will all remember in the future for sure :-) Stay safe the pair of you and probably be next year now for more video's.
The Magpie cafe in Whitby is a must for Fish & Chips :) I love Whitby, I go every year.
Agreed Whitby is a special place my friend but so busy that day. cheers for watching .
Lovely
Thanks pleased you enjoyed it fella
I always feel as though iv been out for a days ride with the lads when I watch one of your vids Steve .....looking forward to the next one .😎
Cheers Brad pleased you enjoyed it fella and great comment that thanks.
Great video thanks.
Cheers Gary appreciate that.
Hi Steve
A great video as usual being from the Yorkshire Dales I know the area well
No criticism intended it’s North Yorkshire but the area is known as the North York Moors
I like your running commentaries some videos just have music soundtracks boring
You picked a cracking day pity about the traffic
All the best
Alan
Thanks Alan appreciate the comment pleased you enjoyed it and wow your so lucky to live in such a beautiful area. Ride Safe my friend.
Hi Steve fantastic video as always.. You make these videos look so professional I can only look in awe at how you edit these.. I've just purchased Vegas Pro 17.. Do you have any tips on editing useing this software or is there anyone you can recommend to learn from.. I'm after doing something similar to you're videos but for personal enjoyment not for uploading to YT.. just keep sakes for me and my brother.. Stay safe my friend
Kind Regards
Rich
Hi Richard wow vegas 17 eh am only on vegas 14 so you'll have a few more features than I do. there is a lot of work goes into my films and I try to do a bit at a time then save and go back and do a bit more. There are loads of vids on here that I learnt from and not just one person. I searched for what I wanted to do in vegas and just self taught myself as I have gone along.
Your video's can be as simple as you want or as complex but I always put the full film together then go back and cut cut cut, nobody wants to just see someone riding a motorcycle for half an hour.
As far as music goes there's some great offerings in You tube creator studio on here.
Good luck and if you ever put films on here let me know and will have a look.
Stay safe fella.
@@Steve-Clark thanks for the reply Steve.. Going to spend a few hours with vegas and RUclips vids as per your advice.. After all it was you who inspired me... Stay safe and already looking forward to more of you're excellent adventures
Rich
@@thibor1975 thanks Rich take it slowly and learn a bit at a time and it just gets better and better. Good luck and enjoy.
Hi Steve another great video. Good to see my stomping ground, good to see you enjoyed it pal. My RT has turned into a GS Adventure now. In a Bit
Nice to hear from you Keith pleased you enjoyed it, RT to GS eh enjoy my friend.
@@Steve-Clark Yes I love it pal, what are you using to charge 4-5 ghost S batteries say overnight etc.
@@keithsimpson I have 2 mains chargers to charge at night and often charge batteries as im riding with bike power points in tank bag when touring.
Another cracking video Steve! (Although I think you should have got all the lads lined up on grid positions on the 'Start Line'....for a photo at Olivers Mount) Loved the rear facing camera, not sure why more vloggers don't use it? Drone footage superb as always.
Thanks Paul pleased you enjoyed it fella and trying to get us lot together for a photo would have taken me ages :-) stay safe mate.
Good wee jaunt❤️
Thanks Gerry
Great vid that mate 👍👍👍👌👌
Yeah top day that Craig cheers
Wed 1st March 2023 today !.....weather's a bit shit and a cold snap forecast !..been out only twice this year so watching your very interesting collection of videos .,...and there great mate !.
Love em!.
What does your mate reckon to the Z650 ?....been looking at swapping to one same colour actually .
Safe riding to you all .
Cheers Kevin pleased you enjoy them fella 👍
Didn't know Baldrick could ride a bike. ;)
Ha ha like it, thanks for watching my friend.
Same me thing happened with alarm on my bike couple of years ago. Pushed it couple of hundred yards and problem solved.
A couple of people have commented the same Ivor you would think they would put up a sign of some kind to make people aware of it. thanks for watching fella
I wish you wouldn't put on music, I prefer the music of the engine. But lovely video all the same, thank you for sharing.
Cheers Steve its a hard one some enjoy music as we ride some don't, I have watched some vlogs that are bikes just riding along with no commentary or music and found them boring so when I'm not droning on lol I fill with music sorry. thanks for watching appreciate it my friend.
Glad your back pal ,Hope all's ok?I reckon that bloke give you the spiel about the mast cos Russ's alarm was wrecking his BBQ
Ha ha Russ's bike was making a right row Rick so you could be right lol, cheers for watching my friend.
Great vid Steve, looking forward to May race event already! What's the piece of music at 18:00?
Hi Marc that particular piece of music is Stardrive by Jeremy Blake and can be found in RUclipss audio library. Thanks for watching fella.
Very enjoyable video. Thank you.
So how come the other Triumph the Street Triple with gold wheels, the alarm/immobiliser didn't go off as well or doesn't the owner have one on his? Russ' Speed Triple is a nice looking bike. Shame you need to push it ;@)
Is it free for bikes to cross the Humber Bridge? Sorry I could google it, but it's easier asking you ;@)
The traffic was mental. When was this again? You said a monday.
It’s free for bikes.
Thanks for watching Alex the other Triumph did not have an alarm so was ok. Humber Bridge is free for motorbikes yes and it was on a monday about a month ago. stay safe fella.
Oliver mount is all public roads permission for a road closure has to be applied for by the race organiser before every meeting when we had fatalities the police are called just the same as any RTA in the 🇬🇧 UK glad my old Suzuki doesn't have an alarm 🙄
Thanks for that bit of info appreciate it and keep your vids coming Graham.
Public road part of the circuit?. Everyone is getting out in the sun between lockdowns
The whole circuit is public road, which gets closed down on race days of course, thanks for watching.
8.18 Hole of Horcum i think
Thanks Alan I didn't know that, stay safe mate.
@@Steve-Clark Think it was caused by a giant metor thousands of years ago , great little ride out cheers keep safe Steve, roll on 2021
@@alanlake5220 wow giant meteor amazing, yeah roll on 2021 my friend.
Triumph alarms are crap, mine played up in France
To be fair Martin it was the mast and it happened to a few different model bikes I'm finding out from people commenting, stay safe my friend.
@@Steve-Clark the masts in France had the same effect, had to push a fully loaded bike down the hard shoulder
@@martinbrown197 you'd have thought this day and age there would be enough frequencies to sort the problem. Ride safe mate.
I will be doing this ride in the morning from grimsby
Hopefully you get to ride round the track. Ride Safe Chris.
@@Steve-Clark thanks Steve hoping the roads are a bit dry the weather doesn't look to bad but not as good as what's on the video lol. Where did your journey start from
@@chrisdoeslots just up road from you fella Scunthorpe 👍
@@Steve-Clark not far at all am just watching another 1 of the videos am new to riding so looking for places to go
