Add another stat I was unaware of that seems insane. Play every minute of every game, block 10 shots a game and fight for 25 boards a game and still never foul out. Doesn't seem real.
Wilt Chamberlain: 100 points in a game. Avg 50ppg/25rpg in a season. Most games over 90. Most games over 80. Most games over 70. Most games over 60. Lead league in scoring. Lead league in Rebounding. Lead League in Blocked Shots. Lead league in Assists. Lead league in total minutes played. NEVER Fouled Out of a game. Set 68 NBA records in 13 year career. No other player has ever even come close to Chamberlain's achievements. THAT is a G.O.A.T. end of conversation
@@scooter2220 Scooter, Let me explain what you don't understand: The reason the NBA doesn't acknowledge Wilt Chamberlain's greatness is because everyone else would have to line up behind him. TheyNBA always pushes the GOAT story. But they wouldn't be able to do it if they admitted Wilts greatness and everyone else had to line up behind him. That would mean the Best player is number 2 behind Wilt. And in anything, most people don't want to remember or care who comes in second. Whether it be car racing or track and field or Boxing or Football/Baseball. Nobody cares about 2nd place. There's no money in it. The NBA knows this and is simply a deceitful organization doing what it does for its own benefit.
People know about what an offensive force he was, but what makes him great is that he was an amazing defensive player, rebounder, and excellent playmaker as well. And, of course, because he played so many minutes, that's a big part of what allowed him to amplify his impact on the game. Part way through his career, he stopped being the first option scorer, and tended to play more of a defense-first and playmaking role. If he had played as an offensive first option for all of his career, he might still hold the record for most career points, despite only playing 13 seasons vs. the longer careers of Kareem and Le-James
Most, Tied, who cares? You still have to get passed him to set virtually ANY record! Wilt Chamberlain Holds The ONLY 100 Point Game! Set 69 NBA records! A lot of people don't understand that Wilt had inherent strength: a natural level of better-than-average muscle bulk and strength. And THEN he began to seriously engage in weight-lifting for power and strength when he was about 18 years old--and continued with it for decades. His physician gave him a head-to-toe exam one year after the season was about to begin, and Wilt had gained over 4 inches of muscle throughout his torso. He was also a dedicated high jumper who was extremely proud of his vertical leap, and he loved running track for speed and distance. Put that all together, and Wilt was a once-in-a-lifetime athletic marvel.
Yes!...In a few old film clips, he would sometimes receive the ball inbounds, like a guard would, then sprint down the court, taking those inhuman, long strides, and within a few seconds would be underneath the basket, either slamming it down, or distributing the ball. At times, it just seemed unfair, that he was just too big, strong, fast, intelligent, and plain scary to even be allowed on the court with mere mortals! In some ways, he was actually as gifted a player as Jordan--just a lot larger and stronger!
Most slept-on player ever. Let’s just say, he was 50-60 years ahead of his time. Every time a record is broken or statically challenged, he is always on the list, at the top.
The NBA didn't even keep track of blocked shots for most of the time he played...if they had, he probably would have another 30 records (especially triple doubles, with blocks as the third double in place of assists, not to mention numerous quadruple doubles!)
@morrisparrish76 talking about wilt ; wilt has lot of critics; sometime I answer his critics & sometimes I don"t ; wilt was a nba & college basketball 🏀 pioneer
A winner in high jump, long jump, and long distance running. This guy had, or very nearly had, peak human physical abilites. Who else had peak human abilities? Captain America. Wilt is as close to a real life superhero as it gets.
I saw him play many times on TV when I was kid. He was the most dominant and the greatest basketball player ever period. The NBA record books proves it!
@@morrisparrish76 well with this generation they want to have everything erased from the record books prior to 2004 because all the players they played against were awful so anything the players of yesteryear accomplished doesn't count because it wasn't done against the "superior" players of today.
Wilt had enormous athletic skills, basketball skills . That doesn’t change depending upon whom he’s competing against or when he’s competing. He’s the greatest athlete and the greatest player in the history of basketball. I saw him play once in Baltimore and chatted with him for about one minute between halves . He was awe- inspiring.
Both of those dudes had a great laugh...especially Russell! They clearly loved each other, but like love itself, had a rocky friendship at times, through the years. Russell outlived Wilt by at least 20 years. Life is strange that way. Wilt had, apparently, a heart condition that he did not want folks to know about...and remember what Maravich dealt with? He did not even know, that his heart was defective his entire young life--he died at age 40, while playing in a pickup game with his church team.
@Matt-ru5rwNope. Check out the video where Wilt shakes Shaq’s hand and nearly dislocates his shoulder. Wanted to show who was the most dominant so there would never be any doubt. And he did. Shaq is a little boy stood next to Wilt.
Wilt Chamberlain I never saw play but the results speak for itself Chamberlain was the best player ever. 50 points a game in 1962, 100 pts in a game, rules changed to slow him down when today rules are changed to help players. Chamberlain is the greatest player that ever put on a uniform.
Kerem Abdul Jubbar , said many times, when he was playing for the Milwaukee Bucks, that Wilt Chamberlain helped him improve his basketball skills. I watched a lot Lakers games as a child, before Wilt Chamberlain retired from the Lakers. When Jubbar, played against Chamberlain, Jubbar had to take breaks, by sitting on the bench to drink some water, while Chamberlain was still out on the court, playing in the game.
i can’t fathom how Wilt was averaging 50 points per game on the era that 3 point shot is not yet created. just imagine how many 3 points he made during his time but only counted as 2 points
He would almost never shoot from that far away unless it was to beat the buzzer, which he did do on occasion. He was actually known for having a decent long-range shot. Of course, with the 3 point rule, he likely would have taken a lot of 3-point shots. This almost happened, as he was about to return from retirement in the late 70's, and had been working on his 3 point shooting, but the negotiations fell apart at the last moment when Chamberlain took offense to something one of the team representatives did. Wilt could be a bit petty if you ask me. There are some weird stories about him over-reacting unexpectedly to the strangest things, like the story of him SPITTING on a complete stranger in an elevator after they asked him "how's the weather up there".
At the college level, Pistol Pete set the standard for scoring, averaging 44pts per game...and this was before the 3pt line!...And he would shoot from 30' on in...someone has calculated that he could have averaged 55pts a game, in a modern setting! But even Maravich was not the truly dominant player at the pro level, that Wilt was.
It’s about time basketball talking heads acknowledge the greatness of Wilt. He had such a great skill set, but people only think of his freakish body. There’s a lot of big guys, none could match Chamberlain’s athleticism.
Fastest, strongest, highest jumping, most athletic player in the NBA ever. Total dominance. Don't believe me or other fans, just listen to today's players and the players of the past. They know. "Repeat the list. Repeat the list. Wilt, me, Mike. It's a short list." Kobe Bryant. Says it all.
He probably didn't have the highest vertical ever, though it's hard to say for sure. However, it's possible that he was able to reach higher (after jumping) than any player in the history of the league, because he definitely had a good vertical, and he had unusually long arms even for someone of his size.
Possibly, he might also (along with Shaq) be fouled out all the time...would be interesting to see how his game would adjust. I really think Larry Bird's game might improve the most, maybe MJ by playing in this era.
The NBA league rules commission changed 4 rules to stop Wilt from dominating: 1)widened the paint area 2)could not inbound the ball behind the backboard 3)could not enter the paint area until the free throw hits the rim.
@victorwiley3739 If all else is equal, Wilt wins. One problem with Shaq would simply be that at some point he's going to have to sub-out, but Chamberlain, in his prime, could play all game long, so suddenly you've got your backup centre trying to guard him! Good luck with that!
Wilt game is clouded by a few of his dominate numbers, points and rebounds! The never fouling out a game, years when he played and averaged 48 min a game. Blocked shots and steals weren’t recorded during his Career. Most rebounds in a game 55 versus Bill Russell. His style of play was timid , he didn’t play through his opponents choosing to shoot fadeaways, finger rolls, bank shots, dunks were not his preferred method of scoring. Other players were great in different ways. Respect to all!
His feats are other worldly: 48.5 minutes a game, never fouled out of a game, 55 rebounds against Bill Russell, lead the league in assists, averaged 50+pts a game, averaging 30+rebounds a game in a saeson. Playing pt guard for the Harlem Globetrotters etc,...
His strrength was legendary...Tommy Heinson, a bulky, bigger forward back then, said that a few times he got his arm tangled up with Wilt when Wilt was going up for a rebound--tommy would be lifted right up towards the boards!
Bout to play it in a min, been playin it a couple times a week SINCE it was released, and yeah he's the player I go with the most (though Dawkins once in a while at center just to make it more competitive for the opps)
@@LeStephanie69 um Red's Celtic team was the best Celtics team of all time and Wilt beat them or took them to 7 games multiple times. Jordan could not beat an even older Celtics team even once in the playoffs. Hard to compare eras but Wilt did things physically that no other player since has done. He would have most likely did just about the same. Wilt's era tried to beat him up physically and remember Jerry West had his nose broken several times. I dont recalled the physical era of the 80s (crack and drug heavy era) had such physical beat down.
@@LeStephanie69 It's obvious that you're exaggerating to try to piss people off, but if you're going to do that, at least say something a bit less absurd. Nobody is even going to take you seriously if you say that. The big stars of the game today as well as over the past few decades acknowledge his greatness, do you think you know basketball better than Steph Curry, LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Kareem, etc.?! XD
It’s funny that detractors like to say it was a different game then. Yet the court is the same length, width and same with the paint. Rim was 10’, ball was same size and there was a 24 second clock. Rules were similar as well, with some changes due to Wilts dominance. The difference is they played at breakneck speed the entire game, which they could do today if they want to. The only real difference is the 3 pointer. Pretty sure they would have figured out how to incorporate that into the game.
Other top 10 players recognize his greatness. Kobe considered Wilt top-3. Wilt was one of only 4 great players mentioned by Jordan in his Hall of fame induction speech. There are many more examples.
Chick Hearn allegedly invented the term "slam dunk" to describe Wilt's dunks. He used to break backboards not by hanging on them like Dawkins did, but simply by hitting them so hard on a dunk that the rim ripped off.
Russell & Kareem who were the true legends at that position that played against him - have immense admiration and love for this guy - especially Russell. I think it is because Wilt was such a good, mild nice sweet guy for the giant that he was. Shaq - you are not even in the conversation with those guys - in their era - you would be on your ass.
My thoughts to why we don’t mention him over MJ. I’m a bulls fan saying this it’s because wilt put up video game numbers. No like literally video game on pro mode type numbers. But I think it’s a combination of winning&dominating that’s why bill is mentioned more than wilt. Rings do matter a lot but it’s what you do in those championship games as well. Unfortunately most people think MJ is the goat like my self because of the overall performance in those championship games. He won but wilt should be the top n best player ever from just a player perspective.
Here is my take. In the age of social media, Wilts name just doesn't draw the clicks or eyeballs of a Jordan or Lebron. If you're a sports media type who job depends on consumer engagement, are you really going to bring up Wilts name or Jordan? Also, Jordan and Lebron sell shoes. Case closed.
Yeah, it's not like Wilt choked in those playoff games. He has incredible playoff stats, and he was constantly giving his teams a chance to win. Every time Chamberlain moved to a new team, that team would instantly become a contender as a result, especially when he was in his prime. It's also important to remember that some of Wilt's teams came extremely close to beating the Celtics in the playoffs, and, on one occasion, his team DID beat the Celtics (with Bill Russell) in a playoff series. Luck can play a big role in those super close series, and it's funny how a bit of luck can change a player's legacy for better or for worse.
He also led in field goal percentage And even thou he only won two those two teams 67 sixers and 72 lakers are historically two of the all time best teams
@@mikegillins4992 Indeed. 67 sixers were the only team to defeat the Celtics in the entire 1960s decade. 72 lakers had to go through the defending champion Bucks with back-to-back MVP Kareem and Oscar, both all-time greats. I believe Wilt is the only player to play on two teams that set a new NBA record for wins in a season as well.
@gtg309v no doubt he was the only player on two record breaking teams and he was league MVP on 67 team and finals MVP on 72 team Back in the sixties and fifties you had dominant teams like celtics, Yankees and packers with no free agency...it took a special team with a special player to beat any of those teams and that's what that 67 team was special led by the big dipper!!!
@@mikegillins4992 Wilt led the league in FG% several times - I want to say 7 but I might be off 1 or two. 6 Finals - and all of them were pretty close.
Media and NBA Officials try to make us forget about Wilt Chamberlain. Imagine scoring 50.4 ppg and grabbing 25.7 rpg avg for a season and dont be the MVP. What a joke.
@Matt-ru5rw What has this to do with not getting mvp with those stats? Nobody in his era came even close to him. Wilt averaged 40 ppg over a span of 515 consecutive games. 2nd rank in that category goes to Elgin Baylor with 33(!) consecutive games scoring 40 ppg avg. Wilt also grabbed 25 rpg average for those 515 games.Nobody except Wilt Chamberlain ever recorded a 30-20 season; he did it for career. Wilt has 128 out of 147 30-30 games ever archieved. That means the whole rest of the league any era combined has 19. Tell me just one Center in any era who could stop or dominate prime Wilt. There is none. Bill Russell (argueable the greatest defender on his position)? Wilt scored 62 on him once and more than 48 points 5 times in a single season*. The Celtics double and triple teaming Wilt in playoffs slowed down Wilt, not Russell himself. Who should stop him today? Gobert? Please. *this was the season they gave Bill Russell MVP, even Wilt scored 62 once and more than 48 points 5 times on Bill and had 50 ppg and 25 rpg average. Biggest joke in MVP history.
@Matt-ru5rw Nope. They gave it to him, because his team (!) won more games. Also nobody roots for Goliath. NBA loved Bill Russell and was terrified of Wilt. They were in believe he was able to destroy the NBA. Guess why they invented several rules to stop him dominating.
@Matt-ru5rw Ehm, no. Wilt was stronger, taller, faster, had higher vert, wingspan and stamina. Only "advantage" Shaq had was weight. Leaning in and bulldozering your way to the rim vs Wilt? Good luck. Wilt was argueable the greatest rim protector ever. Wilt was able to block Kareems skyhook twice in the same play even with bad knees after surgeries. Did you saw what Hakeem, Wallace or Rodman did to Shaq. Please. Shaq stopping Wilt? How? How would Shaq defend Wilts fallback jumper bankshot aka fadeaway jumpshot. You do know he invented this shot and Dirk for example copied it 1:1, don't you? Nobody stopped Wilt Chamberlain or even slowed down him w/o double teaming him. Prime Wilt vs Prime Shaq? Wilt all day. It's not even close.
@Matt-ru5rw just for your info: From 1973-2019 players were measured with shoes. Wilt was 7'1" barefoot, Shaq was 7'1" with shoes. Do you know the video clip when both shake hands? Search for it. You will see, Wilt also had the bigger body frame. Wilt had arguable the highest vertical reach in NBA history. No doubt he had the highest one-step vertical reach.
@Matt-ru5rw I almost forgot: Watch what Phil Jackson had to say about Wilt vs Shaq (he played Wilt and coached Shaq). Wilt would make Shaq run up and down the court all night long.
@victorwiley3739 Bol is probably the tallest starting NBA player to ever play in the NBA, as he is seen to be taller than other top-10 tall players, who were supposedly taller than him, when seen in video or photographs of them standing side by side. Taco Fall is taller, but was never a starting player. Maybe Taco Fall will eventually come back to the NBA once his gotten a bit more experience and time to develop his skills in that overseas league he's been playing in.
Just coming into my teens, growing up in L.A., I was blessed to be going to a fair number of Lakers games in the early 1970s at the old Forum. I got to see Wilt play in that late stage of his career, when he was not scoring so much but doing the things that helped his team most. Jerry West, Gail Goodrich and others like Happy Hairston could score the points, and they did. Wilt did whatever was needed; score, rebound, assists, block shots; and that dynamic resulted in the 33 game win streak, the decades-long record win-loss count of 69-13, and the first L.A. Lakers championship. I never met Wilt, but I did meet West, Goodrich and another player on the team named Pat Riley. Those were great days and, as Jordan states here, that was the foundation for all who came after.

Can you imagine Wilt Chamberlain in the 80s playing with Julius Erving, Moses Malone and Charles Barkley?
@@YaThat. check out the footage of Wilt running the fast break. Looks crazy. Same with Bill Russell going coast to coast. They ran with full extension like Giannis 👍.
Wilt is the G.O.A.T. No question. I was privileged to know his high school team mate Vinson Miller, who was my high school basketball coach at Frankford High in Philadelphia. He would tell me about some of the things Wilt did at Overbrook High School at practice and during games. They wanted to scrimmage some college teams but the college teams didn't want to play them. Some of the rules in the NBA were changed because Wilt was so dominant. There was an NBA game where Wilt is running down court to get back on defense. He is chasing the player and gets in position and blocks the shot. Wilt's right hand is at the top of the backboard. He blocked the shot. He was also a high jumper. He jumped using the standard scissors kick. That took skill and getting up off the ground. The fosberry takes skill too but is easier because you don't have to jump as high. Wilt truly is the G.O.A.T. He has breakfast with Hercules and the other immortals.
I’m not sure if Wilt still holds this record but as hard as it might be to believe for many years Wilt held the record for the most free throw points in one game
The most one can say about a supreme athlete--as a rule--is that he was the "best of his era"...but with WILT, forget about that! His stats, his nuanced playing style, his overall class on the court, make it obvious that WILT actually was the greatest B-Bal player of all time. The only possible knock on him, is that sometimes he would get moody, and not go full tilt, especially in his later years. Why he did this on occasion, is a subject for the shrinks of the world. No matter...he was obviously the greatest-of any era.
Russell said wilt was the smartest player he played against. With wilts vertical, endurance, agility, strength, intelligence, and pure talent he would have easily dominated any era
I like how Kobe let that goofy @$$ interviewer know how good those numbers REALLY ARE in the quickest way possible. The dude was trying to hurry up and say 'it was a different game' to denigrate Wilt's accomplishments. Knowing he probably couldn't get those numbers 1on1 against a 4th grader! You can talk all day about different eras or whatever, but you CAN'T fake stamina or endurance! Wilt played an ENTIRE SEASON without sitting on the bench once! Only time he sat out was when he got thrown out of the game for the last 7 minutes or so! Until somebody does that, you're not GREATER than Wilt Chamberlain in my opinion, PERIODD!
He average over 50 pts in a season True! What they didn't tell you is that it was like 4-5 consecutive seasons averaging over 37 pts during the same period!!!😮
After that 50 point season the next year he averaged 44.8ppg. Then there is the season he averaged 25ppg on 68 percent shooting. Wilt undoubtedly the greatest player ever, Bill Russell surely second to only Wilt.
He could have retired after his rookie season and he'd still have the all time record for rebounds per game and rebounds in a season (and also the all-time record for points per game in a season).
We also forget, guys like Wilt & Russell played in canvass flat bottom sneakers, with no suppliments or big money for trainers etc. They would have loved a pair of Air Jordans, some Gatorade, and personal doctors / trainers / massage therapists.
It’s impossible to compare generations let alone generations where there wasn’t a lot off footage. I get why people criticize but people like you and I seem to understand how dominate he was in that era. I’m sure he could play in every era and be successful
Wilt Chamberlain was the Eighth Wonder of the World The most dominant athlete that ever played Basketball, he was the embodiment of Mars, just look at how he shook Shaq's hand, he probably nearly broke it, and he still looked to be in better physical shape 20 years after his retirement than Shaq ever did during his career. And Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant all acknowledge that Wilt is the Greatest, as they know that he was the only guy that would dominate in every era, and with the addition of the three point line, he would beat his own 100 point record, as he was able to skyhook the ball from the three point line.
Ok, I loved Wilt and I saw Him Play from His First NBA Game until His Last NBA Game! Living here in the New York Metropolitan Area, I grew up as a Sport Fanatic! I'm Now 80 Years Old and I saw some of the Greatest Teams, Games and Athletes in Sports History! Even though Wilt was my Favorite Basketball Player of All Time, I was a NY Knick Fan during that time. I must admit that I did Not Expect the Knicks to defeat the Lakers in that Championship, with Wilt at Center for the Lakers! I guess it just was Destiny for the Knicks and on that night, Wilt could Not Destroy The NY Knicks!
Αhead of his time! If he was playing in the 80's or 90's in the so called "big men era", many of the now considered great centers would feel like high school kids.
Teams win championships not individual players. Wilt has the most stat records so he's the g-(player)oat. And it's a tossup between Lakers or Celtics 17 titles each or Bulls two 3-peat runs.
What people are so ignorant about is the time frame. Boston had a stranglehold on the league. Best owner best coach best collection of players. The Celtics and Hawks were the most financially stable teams. Everyone else was trying to stay afloat. Wilt was paid by Eddie Gottlieb to score and score some more. The offense went through Wilt. Boston had none of that. Russell didn’t have the expectations Wilt had. Not close. Championships in those days went through Boston and the only two teams that really challenged Boston were Wilts teams and the West Baylor Lakers. So when people use titles as a criteria back then they need to see that the NBA was in a much different frame of reference than they would ever be in again. The Celtics to their credit seized upon the environment and took 11/13 titles and 8 in a row. They had a stranglehold on depth $ and coaching. It really wouldn’t be a league of parity until the later 60’s.
Basketball is a team effort game, and although Wilt Chamberlain was that a very dominant NBA player during his prime, Wilt Chamberlain unable to win as many as Championship title, and that is the main reason why Wilt not on the GOAT debate, but Wilt is in my Top Ten Greatest NBA Players of All Time, he's my number Seven behind LeBron James. 🤔🤔🤔
I’ve seen some ill informed posts claiming Rodman was the greatest rebounder ever. His best single game number was 34. Wilt got 55..against Russell. Enough with the silly talk.
Simple equation... Wilt played almost 48 minutes a season and achieved what he did for the period of time, Shaq would have DIED if he had to play 40 minutes a game for 82 games a year. One season Wilt averaged OVER 48 MINUTES one year.
Forget the scoring for a minute. Forget the blocked shots. Played EVERY minute of the game for a whole season. Athlete? God. Never fouled out of a game. Nobody else even comes remotely close. Now. Scoring. # of games over 50? Again, nobody else even remotely close. Others lucky to have even ONE. Wilt? ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN. The supposed goat, Jordan? 31. ONLY 31. If the 3 point shot was available in his time, his highest scoring game would likely have been even higher than 100.

More Life
Both of those dudes had a great laugh...especially Russell!
The fact that Wilt played low top converse is amazing
What's funny is there are pictures with Shaq standing next to Wilt and Shaq looks small. It's crazy.
@Matt-ru5rwNope. Check out the video where Wilt shakes Shaq’s hand and nearly dislocates his shoulder. Wanted to show who was the most dominant so there would never be any doubt. And he did. Shaq is a little boy stood next to Wilt.
@Matt-ru5rw ruclips.net/video/bU43dTuMuig/видео.htmlsi=JPfpcHtSlA49YU2K
Imagine how many times he had to run up and down the court to score 100pts. The pace back and forth must've been phenomenal
He probably wouldn't have shot many 3 pointers. Centers didn't shoot from distance until recently.
at least one
At the college level, Pistol Pete set the standard for scoring, averaging 44pts per game...and this was before the 3pt line!...And he would shoot from 30' on in...someone has calculated that he could have averaged 55pts a game, in a modern setting! But even Maravich was not the truly dominant player at the pro level, that Wilt was.
It’s about time basketball talking heads acknowledge the greatness of Wilt. He had such a great skill set, but people only think of his freakish body. There’s a lot of big guys, none could match Chamberlain’s athleticism.
Wilt was a legend the best in my book come on a center scoring so much he's was a monster on the court. Rip big man👍
I grew up listening to The Lakers and Wilt on my portable radio under the covers after my bedtime as a kid. My childhood hero!
If he averaged 50 points per game when the game was so physical he easily could average like 60 in todays NBA

Wilt vs. Shaq? Wilt all day and night.
Shaw who
@victorwiley3739 If all else is equal, Wilt wins. One problem with Shaq would simply be that at some point he's going to have to sub-out, but Chamberlain, in his prime, could play all game long, so suddenly you've got your backup centre trying to guard him! Good luck with that!
Wilt was much stronger than Shaq as an old man
Exactly. Wilt did not commit an (uncalled) offensive foul every time he got the ball in the paint.
@victorwiley3739 That other team to which he lost most of the games was, uh, pretty good.
There's Wilt and then there's everybody else.
🤝🏽👏🏽 🏀 it’s crazy but also Greta to hear players who wasn’t even born then talk about wilt like this
They weren’t born when the titanic sank; but they knew it was great
Wilt game is clouded by a few of his dominate numbers, points and rebounds! Respect to all!
play every minute of every game, block 10 shots a game and fight for 25 boards a game and still never foul out. That's insane
Wilt was superhuman.

@@syncmonism aight
Wrong. Wilt was an A- hole. I met him in Toronto.
In front of a camera, yeah, he acted nice. But really....
Because too many people today never saw Wilt play, or saw him rewrite the record book.
He is... And I see. The Jordan /air Jordan play
HTF about hype-hate & downplaying
Wilt led the league in points, rebounds and assists during his career. His only knock is not winning more chips.
He also led in field goal percentage

Wilt Chamberlain =GOAT

@victorwiley3739 Bol is probably the tallest starting NBA player to ever play in the NBA, as he is seen to be taller than other top-10 tall players, who were supposedly taller than him, when seen in video or photographs of them standing side by side.

Wilt was more than human. He was a superman.

This statement has been made dozens of times over the years but it is true, Wilt never had the supporting cast except for a few seasons.
Wilt was the most dominant and greatest player ever he did it in fewer seasons then anyone russell is the greatest winner ever
They are videos, here on RUclips, just about how strong he was. This man had supernatural strength.
The most/best dominant athlete in the modern era.
@1:20 LeBum talking sbout Wilt, he wasnt even thought of when Wilt played. I saw Wilt play, they charged 5 nba records to slow Wilts dominance.
We also forget, guys like Wilt & Russell played in canvass flat bottom sneakers, with no suppliments or big money for trainers etc. They would have loved a pair of Air Jordans, some Gatorade, and personal doctors / trainers / massage therapists.

The most dominant athlete that ever played Basketball, he was the embodiment of Mars, just look at how he shook Shaq's hand, he probably nearly broke it, and he still looked to be in better physical shape 20 years after his retirement than Shaq ever did during his career. And Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant all acknowledge that Wilt is the Greatest, as they know that he was the only guy that would dominate in every era, and with the addition of the three point line, he would beat his own 100 point record, as he was able to skyhook the ball from the three point line.
He's the best I've ever seen.

As big and dominate as Shaq was he never led the league in Rebounding or Blocks.
Wilt is the GOAT. PERIOD.
Its nice Wilt is getting some love he is probably the Ultimate Unicorn
Wilt Chamberlain vs Hakeem Olajuwon...Wilt dominates easily!!!
If wilt was born in the 70s or 80s, no one would question who the GOAT is
If I would start a team then definitely Bill Russell - he made everyone around him better.
31. ONLY 31. Go look at the record books. It's filled with Wilt Chamberlain's name in so many categories. If the 3 point shot was available in his time, his highest scoring game would likely have been even higher than 100.
