You're right about the lack of privacy, but I'm pretty sure a lot of times those tubs were used as another form of therapy. They would either stick them in a tub of ice water or extremely hot water. I could be wrong though. Amazing building though.

Josh! Since you're in Europe, there's an abandoned mental asylum very similar to this one in Scotland I've been to and recommend. It's near Glasgow and there's loads to see.

I'm italian and I live on the same island where this hospital is.
it was not a mental hospital but a normal hospital, inaugurated by benito mussolini and king Vittorio Emanuele III di Savoia, king of italy, in 1933, is located on the island of "Lido di Venezia" in Venice, Italy. It was one of the best hospitals of that time.
Josh! Look up "hydrotherapy", when you see those big, oversized tubs in the middle of a room in an old asylum in mutiples and flat on top where they placed a board over layers of insulation ( over ~cold~ water the patient would have to bathe in for hoyrs, think "hydrotherapy".
There is two huge abandoned cement factory with a few other buildings around it just outside of Regina Saskatchewan you should check out and plenty of abandoned farms around the area

A church I went to once was a circular arrangement like the one you were in. They're pretty cool.
That's not a circular arrangement: the chapel is shaped like a cross, with the altar at the intersection

It would be so cool if you ever explore anything down near cornwall in the uk, there is an abandoned ww2 tramway which was used as a hospital bunker which I did a video on
2:40 the marble stairs were quite common long ago, in fact in the old buildings left the stairs are made that way
however, in the medicines you have seen I think it was written "With strong adrenaline" which is evidently present in most of the bottles that can be found inside these very old places, for example in the Ex-Mummy of the Mombello :)

Try and Visit the Valley of the Mills while youre in Italy Josh! Makes a lot of top ten lists of abandoned places, dates back to 13th century. Also, youre a legend and your vids are incredible. As a Cam op and Video editor by trade, your content is excellent.
I only hear a voice at 1:17 to 1:18 when I slow the audio speed to 0.5. I hear it as you're approaching the door. Perhaps it's in Italian. It sounds ghosty. A female I think. I'm not sure, but I think I hear "I died in here!!!" at 1:22. At 2:05 I believe I hear "A bon." and perhaps something is said after that. "Bon" I believe is good in Italian. Perhaps there's another voice at 2:27. If you listen enough to the audio slowed down at the 0.5 setting you will start to realize that ghosts tend to talk faster than living people do. You will start to see that you pick up more EVPs when you listen at the slower 0.5 setting. You can hear the voice at 2:33 in normal speed pretty clearly. It's in English, but with an accent. I hear, "I come for you!!" Maybe it's one of dem Italian demons. As I say to listen for EVPs in the slower 0.5 settings to hear more of them, sometimes you can hear the EVP better in the "normal" speed setting. I think this is true with this possible 2:33 EVP. Do you hear "Suffering kid!" at 2:50? "Hi!!" at 2:51-2:52. Building one was interesting.

Josh i live in Italy in the Trentino region. Near the Garda lake there's a two hundred y/o abandoned metal factory in a little town called Mori.It is called Alumental (Montrcatini) It is one of the most large and amazing abandoned place in all Italy. You should really check it out. If you are still near Milano, it's more or less 3/2 hours of car, but trust me, it's really worth it.

My family is partially from Italy. To think that some relative of mine might have been abused and tortured like that in one of these asylums in the attempt to cure them... it’s kinda disturbing, to be honest. Worse, they could have just been autistic like me and considered completely insane or even “possessed” or something... If I had been born a few decades earlier I might not have even lived for long, if not gone actually insane...

The two bottles were strong adrenaline, in Italy even today lot of people use Marble because its expensive and it showed that the person was "rich" and they use to put all glory stuff and nice/expensive stuff in their home in Hospitals and same places too

So the relic within the tabernacle is usually a small portion of bone that belonged to a saint.
Relics can also be jewelry, clothes, or other things a saint owned.
And things that are blessed by saints, (this usually happen when the person is still alive, because you can’t become a saint until you’ve died and meet other requirements) are secondary relics.

Hey! If you're in Europe right now or planning to come back sometime in the future, you should visit Hungary.
There is an abandoned asylum in the capital (just outside of it, called Lipótmező), that is out of use since 2007.
The building was used as an asylum first, after that soviet soldiers stayed there and when they left the country it was a mental hospital again.
Lipótmező is famous and feared til this day.
