Victory Conditions Overhaul.
Adds 3 short victories to most factions which makes sense in universe and are extremely thematic.
i saw that last night!
Soo good
is it allows to get achivments on steam?
@@Drimo3k yup achievement still loop if you achieve any of the victory vonditions for the 3 routes. even if you achieve victory on 1 route you can keep playing to achieve all 3 routes.
Its like having chapters and eras for your empire
For Quality of life mods, nothing beats "Just Good Babysitter" which makes units autoattack after the first attack order. No longer will units stay still and do nothing because they have amnesia.
I’ve been playing Total War since Medieval came out and this the first time I’ve heard of this mod. Thank you so much. This is LITERALLY my chief complaint!
Just to clarify, the mod is called: Just Good Babysitter
@@andrewstevens1316 thanks, I remembered the name wrong. I have edited so others can find this excellent mod.
Haha thank you, it's especially annoying when your lord is just standing next to an enemy.
Thanks for the share! where can i find the mod and how to install it?
@@julianlau4293 steam workshop
Great list. One suggestion though: please include the list of mod names/links in the description or as a comment, thanks!
How are people still making videos without placing the mod names in the description or cutting up the video by mod, or better yet, JUST HAVING THE NAME OF THE MOD ON SCREEN when you begin to talk about it. Just little things can change the entire perception of a video to be useful instead of useless.
^ This.
because they dont want you to find information quick, they want you to watch video for as long as possible while they waffle about them xD
This ^
Can we get a non-quality of life mod recommendation? New factions reworks and all that jazz
There's AT MINIMUM somewhere around a hundred of those, and one of them exclusively affects Aranessa's faction.
@@discountplaguedoctor88 I am well aware and I have modded my game to the breaking point multiple times. Im just looking for maybe a modpack thats stable enough to run
all the OvN and Mixu are great!
@@Hadthese Oh yeah they are good. Skaven esoterica and tabletop models are also good
S.F.O, the best overhaul Out there
I LOVE CLIMATE ADAPTATION I REALLY RECOMMEND GETTING IT! It sucks when you want to expand your empire but there’s and entire section of the map that you just can’t it’s so annoying this is a 10/10 mod
Agreed, one of the many mods which introduces a feature that should have been in the base game.
It is a fantastic mod!
I just use mods to remove climate penalties the adaptation takes way too long
Tamurkhan: must kill Grimgor and Greasus in the mountainous terrain
Nurgle: mountainous terrain is unsuitable
I see we have a heretic to the lore!
"Let me know you if you have any mods that i missed"
Mxr mods mode:
"Well, let's check the Snu Snu category"
Here are some others you guys might be interested in:
-Victory Conditions Overhaul
-Recruit Defeated Legendary Lord
-Leaders of Legend (combine it with Double Skill points mod)
If you are tired of half of your heroes/lords looking the same download Variant modes. There's a bunch of them that add new models to heroes and lords.
Victory Conditions Overhaul is MASSIVELY under rated. If CA was smart that's exactly how victory conditions should have been to begin with
@@jordandittman9474 It's way more creative than "Occupy/raze/sack this number of settlements and win this and this quest battle".
It even adds replay value, with different routes you can take. Rewards for completing the routes are also actually good, you'll get new items, characters etc.
@@jordandittman9474 Ya, it can really reinvigorate old factions you've played multiple times in the past. I like the idea of smaller, more bite-sized campaign objectives that offer interesting rewards and come with cool end game quest battles.
At first i liked the ide of being able to recruit fallen legendary lords but i dont like the fact that they will come with any skill point the AI assigned to them before they were wiped out. That part made the mod a deal breaker for me.
@@Shiftry87 Just use the "One Turn Respec" mod for them.
Settlement Organizer. A must for maniacs like me.
What does it do?
What does it do though?
@@Hadthese You can re-arrange building icon slots, it seems to be purely cosmetic.
I love alot of these mods, another EXTREMELY useful mod that i can no longer play without is "Helper UI". It shows alot of the hidden stats like splash damage unit limit/ hp per sec from regen sources/ and cost for overcasting magic on the spells mid battle
Remove characters traits limit and Permanent Summons are musts for me. summons become less ass and you dont need to manage traits if you get to keep them all
Imma keep shilling it: The Ogrehaul. Now you might ask: how is that a quality of life mod? It is basically the patch Ogres never got and .massively enhances playablity in base line ways making the faction actually feel like a proper one. So quality of life dagnabit.
The gunpowder smoke mod is really cool and really adds to the feel of gunpowder units in combat.
serves as a reminder that there was a time when smokeless powder wasn't a thing yet, and battlefields experienced literal "fog of war"
Only mod i use is auto resolve for quest battles. Its really time saver for multiplayer.
Great video and selection of mods. One suggestion, add video chapters and labeled timestamps for each mod. It would make searching for them after watching much easier.
best mod is
decline diplomacy - lets you alt-tab in peace
My "essential QoL" mod list is like 60 mods.
All this without adding unit mods, map mods or faction mods.
Ton of things you can min-max
How the hell did you miss the community bugfix mod? That should have been number 1!
Timestamps and links to the mods in the description. This is just lazy.
Thanks for making this. I tend to have frame drop when I zoom in on gun units using gunsmoke and spectacle so I'm wondering what you have your settings to
I just tested the Disable Startup Splash Screens and the Army Carousel mods with the campaign I had already been in. Both worked without a hitch. I already had the better camera mod. I do recommend all three, they are great. I must say I really love the Army Carousel already. After only a couple of hours of using it, I am certain to never start another game without it. The Army Carousel did display a yellow exclamation mark in the mod manager, but it seems to work just fine for me.
That mod for the Autoresolve quest battles is something I NEED. My computer doesn’t run WH3 too well and after the first turn trying to load into battles either freezes my game or straight up crashes it. I was doing an Archaon campain and did his mission for the SoK’s, managed to somehow get into the battle, fought it, won, then as it tried to load me back to the campain map, the game crashed and I was reset to before I did the battle, tried again, same result. Really screwed with me tbh…
I remember the first time I ever downloaded WH3 and made the mistake of putting it on an HDD instead of an SSD. Several minute load times every time I had a loading screen, absolute hell. Finally cleaned my SSD enough to put WH3 on it, sub-30 second times now. This game can be very finicky when it feels like it
@@panther-nk2hn yep, sounds about right.
@@panther-nk2hnI just made the same mistake, it takes about a minute to get in / get out of battles 😅
I personally really enjoy Unique Faction UI and Unique Faction Currencies. Purely visual, but gives the game more differences between factions. Let's be honest, collecting warpstone tokens as skaven or teef as greenskins is more fun than generic gold, and I like the unique UI as well, nice visuals to look at during battles and campaign screen alike. I always liked unique faction UI in strategy games. I used to play command and conquer and i always liked it in those games, Red Alert 2 was my childhood.
High contrast border colours
Auto decline diplomacy
More character names
Fixed allied outpost
Experience ranks
Comfy encamp
What graphics mods are you using? some kinda reshade or something?
Is there a mod that changes settlement buildings to match that of your faction? It bothers me so much when my Dwarves take a lost hold back and it remains being an Orc hovel
(A little late here) there's the dynamic settlements mod, which can help with that
I finally gave mods a go with the Research Overflow mod when I played Epidemius and realized how broken the vanilla research system is. There are definitely some cool mods in this video and I went and subscribed to all the ones that don't really affect gameplay.
Nice list, couple of discoveries there for me.
Essential one for me is Mazisky's Ultimate Lighting changes - I didn't buy the game until he released a version of this.
I don't even remember what the camera is like without 'better camera' 😂
starts at 1:05
In 5.03 console commands is essential so you can insta kill off all the dark elf army spam that lags your game crazy bad after turn 70
This is going to complement SFO: Grimhammer extremely well
SFO ❤
Check out just good UI mod it’s a better version of army carrousel
UI Improvements is currently broken, and Army Carousel has been giving people issues.
Yeah, army carousel is a dice roll for me. Hope it gets updated.
Two essential mods for the empire will be Imperial Elite and Empcon also an Honorable mention will be Singe's units for empire.
Should at least mention what they do
1:08 : disable start up slash screens
1:28 High Resolution UI Improvements
2:17 UI Improvements
2:53 Army carousel
3:30 Climate Adaptation
4:16 Building Progression Icons III
5:07 Auto Resolve quest Battles
5:34 Unlock all skills
6:11 Cpecific's skill Queue
7:03 Guns, smote & spectacle (outdated)
7:45 ultimate Portraits
8:16 Better Camera Mod
Is there a setting I have to turn on to see how far ranged units can hit like at 8:43
Press and hold Space button. There are also settings when holding Space on right side, so you can turn it on all the time.
@@DartAleks thx
THANK YOU for this video
Army carousel and Cpecific skills are definitely my favorite here.
Are these mods multiplayer friendly or would they cause issues? I mainly play this game with friends
"Getting cool shots is the only reason anyone would play battles"
I'm pretty sure the TW community crucified Volund for saying this.
0:00 ahh yes because old games were completely perfect with no flaws at all. It's not like one of the oldest series on youtube is about old terrible games or anything!
can we get a list or a link to the mods?
Can anybody recommend a more armies for the enemies?? Like if I’m playing the S Tyrion then I go to fight the high elves once I get to their territory best a couple of their armies then I’m just bouncing strong empty settlements I want a late game slog fest with all my best units against theirs
I like the radiant mod for that, take out the higher Cost for units and enjoy the fest with New units and stuff
@@marclohnhardt6420 I just looked at my original post and I’m glad you read thru all the typos and understood what I was saying 😂😂 thanks
@@sherkhead9638 u are welcome
But for Real give radiant a try wild stuff is happening
Can you still get steam achievements using these mods?
yes
1:06 you could just press ESC until you get to the title screen
that's what I've always done, apparently some people don't like key presses or something
He acknowledged that in the vid, he just said that its something minor that removes a small annoyance, mainly for people who are opening and closing the game alot for some reason.
yeah no modern game is perfect theyre all full of bugs and super expensive for an unifnished game then they update with DLC
With totalwarhamer leading the way! 🎉
😭😭😭😭
I truly don't think we will EVER get another TW with quality game design equal to shogun 2 or medieval 2 😔
Hi, i’ve just grabbed the game and looking for someone to play with ! Hope someone will reach out
Peace ❤
You guys know any good creators with multiple mods worth checking out? ( Besides Mixu)
Unique faction UI-a visual mod I absolutely won’t play the game without
could you list the mods please
Awesome Vid. would love to see more like it, whether its QoL or just fun mods.
Autoresolve quest battles! Just I want sometimes. 🙏
@Colonel Damneders you have any knowledge on how to get mods on Epic?
"make my game even more unstable." Great outro lol
should check the mod tabletop rules for armies !
Matched Combat Mod
a lot of these mods are out of date and will cause crashes under various circumstances
OOMGGi can Skill Queue!?!?!?!!?
One i can’t play without
Remove AI agents: god i can’t stand agents they make tech impossible they can randomly kill your valuable heroes they are practically impossible to defend against unless you are lucky which should not be in a skill based game and on top of that the ai spams them in late game massively increasing turn time and lag as the Ai has to move every single hero. its literally impossible to map paint without it installed
You can turn off camera focus of AI heroes
The hero spam really is annoying as they can make it hard to click on your own armies/heroes at times
@washedupazir2873
i already do
My assassins make sure the AI never manage to spam agents. They just die. Never had a problem painting the map.
Also, combat is all about “luck” since hitting and dodging are literally based on “chance to hit”.
Melee attack? %based
Melee defence? %based
Cannon shot hitting target lord who is standing still? %based
Non-AP damage to armour? %based
Ambush? %based
Block missiles with shield? %based
Direction of vortex spell? Random
Total War is a game of luck. A bit of skill helps a bit, though.
Ultimate portraits is abandoned
Hello there
Good list!
Thanks again
Do you know of any mods that would help reduce lag? My computer has been struggling recently.
Yeh better GPU. Youll have to pay for one then install it into your rig. Thx
turn time destroyer eliminates all minor factions except the ones that start near you which makes the endturn faster, but it doesn't increase fps. Community bugfix mod could help if the lag is caused by glitches that it fixes. However, there are no mods that increase fps, in general installing mods will make the performance worse, not better.
Remove AI agents helps with lag
@@moe7789 Behave.
Adaptation takes way too long i just use remove climate penalties mod
Love the Mod focus dude. CA may be a trash fire but the modding community for Total War is really something special.
For me: climate adaptation, disable diplomacy, no start screen intros, recruit defeated LLs, choose start position, forced diplomacy, fudging vassals, no penalty for too many trade partners, better garrisons, camera mods, brighter borders, double skill points for lords and heroes (inc. AI) and +100% range for ranged units (inc. AI). I also like to add crafting mechanics to my faction if they dont have it and mods that give you all of the mechanics of the other lords in your race (e.g. amethyst armory for Karl) - CA really need to add that in to the base game when you confederate!
amethyst armory for Karl - NO!
it is paid DLC. why CA don`t add that in to the base game when you confederate? Answer simple - MONEY
Everyone can of course play as they see, its a single player game mostly so its your choice but personally, Climate adaption, while a mod i would love to be included in the base game to fix the horribly boring climate restrictions will never be used by me, feels a bit too much like cheating.
Unlock all skills on the other hand kinda just removes a lot of choice from the game, something that´s already very badly missing, the trees get locked so you have to choose what you want out of that hero or lord, do you want a close quarters engineer or a sniping one, do you want a Tyrion that focuses on melee combat and his own power above everything or one that tries to be more the leader of elves, strategy games are about choices and this feels like a baby just going "i want everything" when asked if he want chips or ice cream.
Victory Conditions Overhaul is one that was missed and really needs to be always loaded, the base game victory conditions are absolute rubbish and demand far too much and are very rarely made to fit each lord and their starting spots.
Research Overflow & Options System is a must for anyone that ever noticed any research buffs in the game, as how it currently works is any research buff that dosen´t take a whole turn off a research is useless and completely wasted which feels quite stupid, especially seeing how many small buffs you can get with many different races or with some that have a whole tech advertising as a research rate boost when in reality it does nothing for all but the most late game of techs.
You forgot my bigger fonts mod.
