What if someone told you to stop doing smoky eyes because it’s making you look too European? I do “western" makeup looks all the time. I would never accept anyone accusing me of distancing from my own Asian roots and/or trying to look white. Flip it around and you’ll see why I have a problem with calling this type of makeup look “Asianfishing”. Most importantly, ASIAN PEOPLE DO NOT NATURALLY LOOK LIKE THIS. This rhetoric is as uncool as it is untrue. It’s the makeup that gives you this type of look, and we're not gatekeeping makeup.
