- Sacramento: When Starbucks closed its shop on Broadway citing safety concerns, council member Valenzuela encouraged neighbors to also call county
Sacramento wasn't like this when Kevin Johnson was mayor. He had a vision and was successful. Now we have a mayor with no class and no vision....
Most likely because Kevin is from Sacramento.
All they really need to do is let the local PD do their jobs and stop tieing their hands
Because theyll jail them
@@rijkersmith3241 maybe that's where they need to be
@@miketipton5001 maybe you're a fascist
War on drugs doesn’t work
You all voted for Katie “Excuses “ Valenzuela.
Starbucks closed on broadway and 65th express way also
People need to realize it’s an open drug scene. You need law enforcement to be allowed to do their job. Public camping idea started it and do gooders exacerbate it because they don’t get it. They’re not unhoused. They are street people who are doing what you are allowing them to do. If people can’t live by the rules, there needs to be consequences. They just make it worse. They wreck things all over town.
War on drugs never worked cali been a drug state for ever drugs aren’t even decriminalized yet in the state and yet the state has been a hub for all sorts of drugs
what's the point of reporting in detail what crime you see when the police still won't do anything about it???
Everyone started banding together and start running these fools out of your neighborhood. People use to do that before they became complacent and wanting the government to fix your problems. I have ran 7 or 8 of these people out of my area over the past 3 years and I've never seen them again. If people do not take matters into their own hands, there will come a time when these people start living in your backyards and front porches demanding that you provide services for them.
Large proportion of addicts were originally addicted to prescription drugs. So also blame big pharma.
The only problem with that is these miscreants will just go to another neighborhood
and make it a problem for the residents there.
@@Emerson278 then they chase them out to another place. Then those people chase them out to another place and so on and so on. In a few years they will have been chased around the world and right back here. We will throw a welcome back party for them then chace them out and the cycle repeats. Sounds good yea?
They use to camp closer to the river. This all started when the law was changed regarding drug incarceration and allowing them to camp anywhere they want. I actually know quite a few and they are good people...but the others I've chased out were problematic and just bad people. All have one thing in common though, Methamphetamine. It's what makes thier world "spin".
And the police will tell you there's nothing they can do
Before I left California in June we started having Lean to makeshift tents and encampments forming along the outside walls of our townhomes, our HOA said they couldn't do anything about it, $350 fee a month btw, the Local PD was having " meetings" and townhalls about it for three years but nothing other than a growing problem, then Our private townhomeship became a migratory path between recycle centers and a liquor store, car break ins increased and trash piles increased so we got out, glad we did. California is totally Fuqed!
Close the border slow down the dope
Just learn how to say no to drugs. It is that simple
people still "reimagining" things they willfully destroy? no lessons were learned evidently. ok then.
They 5150 someone pull them off the street only to pump them full of medicine they can't afford, when the sates insurance runs out, they let that person out back on the streets without any real help other than a new found addiction! 😞Just saying it's not as simple as it seems. The System is just messy!
A 5150 , they are usually out in 36 to 48 hour's
Gather all the homeless and stuff them inside a facility and give them a cell were they can heal mentally and physically and keep them there a minimum of 6 months until they are ready.
This is all over Sacramento not just on Broadway.. 🤦 people only get mad when it comes to their neighborhood otherwise they couldn't care less.. until there's better resources it is what it is..
That area reminds me of what's happening in SF
Round em up and truck em to LA where they should be. Enough non-sense.
It's so sad.....
Broadway is dying.
Downtown is dying.
Sacramento is dying.
Homeless tents line the street. Homeless hotels are occupying where conventioners avoid. Patrons fear parking&walking streets. Diners shutter. Zombies control the night. And distinguished city councilwoman says, "it's all the "county's" fault?!"
And who knows how many people in Sacramento who are in poverty were born in Sacramento. It's depressing.
Businesses like Starbucks and Jamba juice are in business to make money. Trying to run a storefront in a drug infested place like Sacramento is not how it's done.
The people voted for this.
Sad
Illegal drug use on city streets equates to grants, there social federal problem where city receives funding from homeless "drug" use. Police receive homeless funding yearly. Its a national, state, city problem.
Oh now you want the police but it is newsome who should be in front of the cameras answering the tough questions.
Bro's rockin
A friend lives on 14th near X and he has tent's and camping directly across the street from his house, the whole area is a mess and he would have to take a loss to sell his nice home. He has seen drug sales and prostitution being done across from his house. The city is allowing this to happen
DEMOCRATS are allowing this.
Not only the city but the country but democrats need more poor people from outside the country 😂 its insanity of course it’s on purpose.
I feel worse for the guy sleeping outside that's just me tho idk😂
This is what you voted for, quit complaining!
Outcast them and the problem will magically disappear, just be positive
Work on raising minimum wage so we don't have to sleep in our cars off Broadway.
Many of the drug addicted homeless dont want to work. This issue has nothing to do with minimum wage.
@@916C8 Many of us out here live next to them due to minimum wage. It's like 50/50.
@@916C8 And it makes us want to go back to prostitution and doing drugs. Crazy cycle but it's all related.
@@vidascupcakes no they aren't, maybe somewhere else and couch serf but Broadway and X streets are long term druggies and homeless
@@califdad4 I personally lived there in my car and sober. I know others as well. Soo dig deeper.
If you're going to give them. the dope and a place to do the dope and a nurse to oversee them doing the dope who's the dope?💯💩💩💩💩💩💩
Duh you guys are soo smart, just like the current Administration
😆 LOL LOL .
You're a blue city in a blue state.
YOU VOTED FOR THE MESS THAT YOU ARE IN.
So I know we have an empty prison out there somewhere a couple of them I don't know why we can't just put all the homeless people in the prisons until they can get drug clean and do a little work something rather and then get back on the street they should make it a law to be homeless against the law to be homeless but I'm in prison
Let’s send all the homeless people to Gavin newsom wine vineyard. He is opening a new addiction facility on his property an it’s going to be free. Cause he’s an amazing dictator
Well… thats capitalism! 😂
Throw the homeless in jail
That's what I've been saying all along the last three to five years I'm in telling people that's why they need to be in jail most likely prison so they can when they get out they can be clean and sober and I'm sure they can make a program up just like the inmates you know work for your right
