  • Intuit will be discontinuing their Point of Sale software as of October 3, 2023. What does this mean for you? It means you have two options:
    Option 1: Continue with QuickBooks Point of Sale v.19, with limitations. You can continue to use your Point of Sale software; however, merchant services and the multi-store functionality will no longer be available.
    Option 2: Say hello to Shopify! Shopify has partnered with Intuit to be the go-to solution for current POS customers and is offering a 50% discount to new customers coming from POS.     Thank you for taking the time to clarify the situation regarding the end of QuickBooks. The emails sent by QuickBooks have been quite vague, so your explanation in the RUclips video has been very helpful in clearing up any confusion.

    Thank you Leah for your great information.
    We use POS pro with 4 users. I have few questions:
    1.- can we continue have our 4 user access?
    2.- we use a third part integration to a credit card merchant (TSYS) can we continue with the integration?
    3.- do you provide or know IT services for POS, after October?
    4.- we running all our POS in window 10, we haven’t upgraded to Windows 11. Do you think we go ahead and upgrade it? We were afraid of crushes with POS

      Hi George!
      1. You will be able to continue with 4 users, but if you plan on needing any additional users in the future you need to purchase those prior to October when all POS sales end (including add users.) Reach out to me if you want a quote and assistance with this.
      2. 3rd party integrations for MAS will be required going forward as Intuit MAS will no longer work. So yes you should be fine.
      3. We will provide software training and assistance but IT/networking will not be offered through Certum.
      4. I have not heard of any complications to POS resulting from the Windows 11 upgrade. I would be sure to backup your POS file to an outside source just to be safe, but you should be fine.

    Is Shopify computer based system or cloud based system. I’m looking for computer base pos because the internet service in my area is not that great

      The Shopify POS app requires an internet connection to import your store's products when you log in. If you lose your internet connection after logging in, then you can continue using the app as long as you don't log out. You can't save a new product without an internet connection.     So, if we move to Shopify will our current Star receipt printer, cash drawer and Zebra price tag/barcode printer still work? The pin pad???

      Love Songs, that is a great question! While there are many POS offerings that integrate with QB software, they do vary greatly in functionality. It would be very difficult for me to select one that would be a best fit for your business without knowing your specific industry, processes, and requirements.     Will Quickbooks POS continue to send information to Quick Books Financial software?

      POS Pro version will continue to send information to QB Desktop Financial as long as financial is a recent working version (ie QBES, Pro or Premier 2021 or later). It may not send info to QBO, or as a multistore POS level after October.
