    The financial resources that Unrivaled needed to build their league into a viable one was there from the beginning. Hopefully it will succeed with more sponsors coming in and supporting it.

    3X3 is a player and skill development and conditioning tool created by hall of fame coach John B McLendon. It is fun and fabulous I played it in college for pre season training 8 weeks before we started official practice. Your game and conditioning will improve tremendously for the 5X5 game. I think the league will make this an entertainment experience for the fans. I expect it to explode to 144 players in 4 locations in two to three years

    This not competition to the wnba this is just a great addition to the world of women’s basketball this will only be a “competition” if they went head to head scheduling wise and I don’t ever see this happening. Great platform for the players to get themselves out there domestically which should raise all tides. Great content but don’t think this needs to be made to look like a competition against the wnba instead should be pushed as another platform to showcase amazing talent

    What-s crazy is it's a start up league and they're still playing double the Wnba for a league that's 1/2 the length. Plus the top players get equity in the league. Shows what a horrific job the Wnba has been doing for 30 years.

    Unrivaled is an entertainment venue just like any sports venue. For the investor, hoping they will make a lot of money. When Stewie announced Unrivaled, she said it was to help the players so they didn’t have to go overseas. Well there is a 144 players in the WNBA and only 36 (now) going to play in Unrivaled. Didn’t help very many players. Also said they would be the top 30 players which these are not the top players. With all the money this venue has why didn’t they do 5x5 and have 12 teams to help all the players? I know you’re just about being basketball, but I think there is an underlying purpose for Unrivaled As always great information on the players.

    • @comfortsheriff1352

    The question of whether Unrivaled will be a league is yet to be answered... If it can generate income in the future years. For this year, it is an experiment/startup/charity funded by wealthy people's extra money. Income will determine league viability. Popularity will determine income. Will people really like Unrivaled?

    • @roee78
      @roee78 Месяц назад +2

      @roee78 I have to agree. I think it's very meaningful since they don't make a lot in the WNBA salary. it's a great crossover business medium if they're able to pull this off... However, we shouldn't hold our breath as we have seen many leagues, in different sports, come and go over the years and it's really hard to get traction the zeitgeist

    Eh, I view this like the XFL or similar leagues competing against the NFL.
    Unrivaled is a relatively cheap gamble, but I think the investors underestimate who their real competition is: the NBA.
    It’s naive to think the NBA will sit by and watch another league try to take away from the WNBA, even if it’s a net loss league. It can exist in the background like these other women’s minor leagues that book no one knew existed until recently.

    Every time I hear Phee talk about Unrivaled, she's extolling the benefits to the players. As if she's trying to recruit players.
    But i NEVER hear her talking about revenue generation and business model. I'm skeptical, for several reasons:
    The venue seats only 850 people. That won't generate much in ticket sales.
    The season is opposite NFL playoffs, NHL, NBA all-star, and college basketball. It'll be the runup to March Madness. Sports fans will be pulled in many directions. How much attention will they pay to Unrivaled with all these other things available to watch?
    What reason does anyone have to believe there's a market for a women's 3x3 small court league? Big 5 has struggled to bring viewers to men's 3x3. Why does anybody think women 3x3 will succeed when the men aren't?
    Individual players will draw their personal fans to watch them in Unrivaled. But is it enough?

    Lexie Hull had just over 5 points last season. Angel was shooting 11% from 5 feet to 9 feet under the basket. Rae Burrell from the Sparks scored just under 6 points a game. The Unrivalled finals are held at the same time as the NCAA womens march madness tournament. Competing against the NHL, NBA, and NFL. Over 70% of the players on this league are mediocre to say the least. An untested 3 on 3 tournament held in front of 850 fans. Watch this league fold really quick. 😂😂😂
