The financial resources that Unrivaled needed to build their league into a viable one was there from the beginning. Hopefully it will succeed with more sponsors coming in and supporting it.
Great videos as always Quita!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the comprehensive breakdown of the league!
After falling in love with so many of these players this past season in the W I’m really looking forward to this.
On another note I hope that Syd Colson will be at some of the games and tweeting on the league🤞🏾😊
3X3 is a player and skill development and conditioning tool created by hall of fame coach John B McLendon. It is fun and fabulous I played it in college for pre season training 8 weeks before we started official practice. Your game and conditioning will improve tremendously for the 5X5 game. I think the league will make this an entertainment experience for the fans. I expect it to explode to 144 players in 4 locations in two to three years
I love 3x3 personally I love watching their games!
I remember watching:
Sarah Strong
Cameron Brink
KK Arnold
Mikaela Williams
HVL
I have tickets for Friday 2/28 and Saturday 3/1 - going solo! Anyone else going!?
Awesome! Have fun, hopefully I will be able to make a game in person
I wish I can go but I'm stuck in crappy Houston😂
I was unaware of that league and am very happy to hear that there's finally an option to WNBA.
Option? It's the same WNBA players.
This was a great breakdown of the players, teams and coaches in Unrivaled 👍 .
Very helpful. I'm looking forward to watching the games.
Happy Holidays to you and your family Ms Quita
Happy Holidays to you too!
This not competition to the wnba this is just a great addition to the world of women’s basketball this will only be a “competition” if they went head to head scheduling wise and I don’t ever see this happening. Great platform for the players to get themselves out there domestically which should raise all tides. Great content but don’t think this needs to be made to look like a competition against the wnba instead should be pushed as another platform to showcase amazing talent
I agree.
I like it. It was a way for our sisters to play in the states instead of going overseas. I will definitely support it.😊
Great job explaining Unrivaled to your followers.
It was a smart move. Announce the idea in 2023 launch off the waive of the rookie attention of the WNBA. I love that this will help both of the leagues grow by keeping our talent in the US.
Should be great! Not sure fans will watch, it’s a very different game, but let’s go! 🏀
Thanks Quita!!!
As a fan of basketball I am excited to see some bball especially some WBB!!! Im so glad the women have another alternatives to overseas!! I think it’s a smart investment!!
What-s crazy is it's a start up league and they're still playing double the Wnba for a league that's 1/2 the length. Plus the top players get equity in the league. Shows what a horrific job the Wnba has been doing for 30 years.
You can't compare the 2 leagues. Unrivalled is not your typical basketball league
I just subscribed to MAX, I hope UNRIVALED does well.
I get the content of this video, what i don't get is the screen cap. The wnba has no reason, whatsoever, to be worried. Unless were talking about stars getting injured in the offseason.
The WNBA is not profitable and last season lost 40 million dollars Unrivaled is financially funded for the next 3 with a 200 million media package The WNBA should be worried!
The stars go overseas to make more money, so what's the difference? They can also get injured overseas
@comfortsheriff1352 yep, same difference.
Nice cheerleading, Quita!
Lots of investors make me wonder about the size of players' equity shares. 0.5%? 0.25%? I believe Shark Tank investors would've passed on Unrivaled. Shortened Court, but the same 10-foot rim makes little entertainment sense to me.
Its 4 quarters @ 7 mins each. I hope they let the women talk smack and there arent Ts
I’m still wondering if the players will play like an AllStar game or take it seriously.
I hope they mic players up. Might have to make it NC-17.
Should have list players & coach according to their club.
I believe she did that in another video. I know the Unrivaled did a whole video on it as well.
Houston we have a problem?
Yeah Houston can't keep a team because they lack brand loyalty😂
Yeah
Mmmh, mmh, mmmh, so good
My, My, My (you look so sweet)
Listen
Put on your red dress
And slip on your high heels
And some of that sweet perfume
It sure smells good on you
Slide on your lipstick and
Let all your hair down
Cause Baby when you get through
I'm going to show you
Tonight will be a special night
No matter where we go
And I'm so proud to be with you
I just wanna let you know
You got my saying
My, My, My
My, My, My
You sure look good tonight
And you're so damn fine
I wanna say
My, My, My
My, My, My
You sure look good tonight
Unrivaled is an entertainment venue just like any sports venue. For the investor, hoping they will make a lot of money. When Stewie announced Unrivaled, she said it was to help the players so they didn’t have to go overseas. Well there is a 144 players in the WNBA and only 36 (now) going to play in Unrivaled. Didn’t help very many players. Also said they would be the top 30 players which these are not the top players. With all the money this venue has why didn’t they do 5x5 and have 12 teams to help all the players? I know you’re just about being basketball, but I think there is an underlying purpose for Unrivaled As always great information on the players.
They cannot help all the players and yes for some players who don't want to go overseas, they can play in the country
First year. If successful and they can expand, maybe more clubs/teams can be added. This is a start.
@@comfortsheriff1352 I’m just giving the true information that Stewie said. Not speculation.
They want to use Unrivaled as leverage to get significantly higher salaries for WNBA players. It's obvious. It's part of their activism.
@MichaelBenjaminSquarePegDem and it's a good thing don't forget that players go overseas to play for more money
Exsplains why she is so good. I knew her husband was involved but didn’t know his background.
Thank you Quita,
I very much enjoyed this video and Your excellent and pleasant commentary. 🫶
Thanks for watching!
Unrivaled is discussing with potential investors the possibility that Caitlin will eventually join the league. If Caitlin had announced that she would not join Unrivaled now or in the future, this league would be dead in its tracks.
Looks like they-re succeeding w/o Caitlin playing.
We are tired of y'all making everything about CC. No one cares if she joins. Unrivaled is fine without her and that toxic fanbase
The question of whether Unrivaled will be a league is yet to be answered... If it can generate income in the future years. For this year, it is an experiment/startup/charity funded by wealthy people's extra money. Income will determine league viability. Popularity will determine income. Will people really like Unrivaled?
I hope so. This is a great option for players not having to leave the country to secure needed revenue. The overseas leagues have wealthy investors as well.
@roee78 I have to agree. I think it's very meaningful since they don't make a lot in the WNBA salary. it's a great crossover business medium if they're able to pull this off... However, we shouldn't hold our breath as we have seen many leagues, in different sports, come and go over the years and it's really hard to get traction the zeitgeist
Still no dunking. BG is spent and no longer has the physicality required to dunk at-will.
Eh, I view this like the XFL or similar leagues competing against the NFL.
Unrivaled is a relatively cheap gamble, but I think the investors underestimate who their real competition is: the NBA.
It’s naive to think the NBA will sit by and watch another league try to take away from the WNBA, even if it’s a net loss league. It can exist in the background like these other women’s minor leagues that book no one knew existed until recently.
At the risk of being Mr Negativity, why should we give attention in January through March when the college game is at its height?
Sorry, I want to follow Div I at that point and not watch Stewart and company playing 3 on 3 basketball.
How much basketball or sports can or should we watch?
Quita are you on the payroll? 😂
🤔…..
This league will be invisible in March, Hello, with March madness ruling the basketball world. Paige Bueckers and Juju Watkins have higher name ID to casual basketball fans than anybody in this league.
Every time I hear Phee talk about Unrivaled, she's extolling the benefits to the players. As if she's trying to recruit players.
But i NEVER hear her talking about revenue generation and business model. I'm skeptical, for several reasons:
The venue seats only 850 people. That won't generate much in ticket sales.
The season is opposite NFL playoffs, NHL, NBA all-star, and college basketball. It'll be the runup to March Madness. Sports fans will be pulled in many directions. How much attention will they pay to Unrivaled with all these other things available to watch?
What reason does anyone have to believe there's a market for a women's 3x3 small court league? Big 5 has struggled to bring viewers to men's 3x3. Why does anybody think women 3x3 will succeed when the men aren't?
Individual players will draw their personal fans to watch them in Unrivaled. But is it enough?
This is the American way i.e. to risk and to dare.
@ajibolavincent5496 but usually the risk taking is based on a business plan to generate revenue. Unrivaled doesn't talk about generating revenue, only about making players happy.
@@ajibolavincent5496Yes, especially with other people's money.
@@JE-IC I share the same sentiments with you, however, I am done complaining. Creating a startup league with a different style of BBall from the mainstream is going to be interesting.
Lexie Hull had just over 5 points last season. Angel was shooting 11% from 5 feet to 9 feet under the basket. Rae Burrell from the Sparks scored just under 6 points a game. The Unrivalled finals are held at the same time as the NCAA womens march madness tournament. Competing against the NHL, NBA, and NFL. Over 70% of the players on this league are mediocre to say the least. An untested 3 on 3 tournament held in front of 850 fans. Watch this league fold really quick. 😂😂😂
*NBA has more competition. 😂
But i hate the 3 on 3 and won’t watch it 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
I hope it is successful.
Caitlin Clark needs to stay out of this league to allow Unrivaled to prove it can succeed without the so-called Exalted Lord and Savior of Women's Basketball.
It’s not viable just yet.. and it’s not a rival to wnba.. since it’s a 3x3 league..
It hasn't played one game. How can you say it's not viable.
@ I dunno dude.. if tnt don’t get ratings, they’ll just pull it.. especially when they have money in it themselves
I am not watching one second of this league because it is 3 on 3.
Don't watch it go get entertainment from clark whose not playing and not giving. It one content lmao for 8mths dumb ass go watch sit at shitty ass butler games and they suck
I'm literally watching because
it's 3 x 3😂😂😂😂😂😂
You might want to check it out you might actually really liked it you never know😂
If you’re a basketball fan you don’t care it’s ball I’d watch a pickup game if the players were really good.
@@lancepoindexter-jm1duthat's exactly why he's not wanting
I love the game so I will be watching. I'm watching now some of the crazy blow out women's college basketball games for the love of the sport. Even though some of the games are hard to watch 😂😂
