  • New content continues into 2022 - this video is a 1st January 2022 Model Railway Build Update. A New Year's special edition featuring Track Enhancements, on the Escarpment.
    There is a special announcement later in the video that will please a number of viewers and is well worth sticking around for!
    This video covers a number of track enhancements being made on the Escarpment. We cover the following:
    - Replacing a curved set of points for a larger radius one
    - Re-designing the way Coal Trains come from the Coal un-loading loop and crosses over to the main yard lead track. This enables these Coal Trains to now reverse into Port Kembla North yard
    - A number of re-configurations to free up major sidings at Port Kembla
    This video catches up on all the Track news and so much more!

    All the build and track planning has been undertaken in Anyrail 6, for the Escarpment construction. This is an HO Australian model train layout build.

    Hi ya Jason. That was a very detailed and succinct explanation of your track enhancements. It’s a good thing I wasn’t drinking anything when you showed the insert film, after your steam loco announcement. It would have been all over my iPad screen. Lol. Happy New Year, Jason, to you and your family and friends. Thanks for all the great videos. Take care. See ya next time.

    Happy New Year from the UK Jason. Good to see 2022 carries on from where you finished off in the 2021 December update. The layout continues to develop and you are right not to start scenery until you are happy with the track configuration and taking time to think things through is definately the correct course of action. Shame you have succumbed to buying a kettle LOL but I was PMSL at the guy with the firework. Great work. All the best.

      Lol at the kettle Scott. Thanks for the feedback. As I work through the types of industry there will be more tweaks to the track, as only yesterday I have made more minor changes. Just finished the level 3 new siding, so no rest for the wicked, so to speak..regards

    Ah steam at last Jason, looking forward to that mate. I’ve only used large radius points on my layout and have tried to keep everything fairly simple in terms of junctions and things. Even so when I come to lay the track permanently I will make some changes. But what you’ve done looks good to me Jason, great work as usual.
    Happy New Year, cheers John

      Hi John, yeah it will be the one and only, bit of a special touring ride for the layout. The funny thing is now that I'm sorting through industries for running sessions, I have more tweaks..regards

    I’ve watched several of your videos and subscribed and in the videos I see you sitting in front of the 3 labels of track plans hanging on the wall behind you but I haven’t found a video that shows them. Can you direct me to the video with the track diagrams or post them in your next video? Thank you. I’m enjoying your channel and layout build.

      Hi Derek, welcome to the channel, hope you get some inspiration from it. That is a bloody good question! Those videos were probably from my original channel a few years ago. I don't know whether I went through those on a video. I did do a virtual tour using Anyrail 6. But I probably only shared those on my Facebook group. I will need to have a look..will get back to you..cheers

    • @derekalexander4030
      @derekalexander4030 2 года назад +1

      Yes, I saw the virtual tour and it was amazing. I understood that it was done with the mouse and I’m sure everyone would love to see a video on how to do that on anyrail6 as well as a video containing the layout diagrams whether on anyrail6 or from the sheets on the wall. Thank you.

    • @JasonWood_Escarpment

      Unfortunately Derek, those are from a few years ago and there has been a number of track changes since. I haven't kept them up to date. If you have messenger, send me a PM and I can send you the plans..cheers

    Happy new year Jason, do you ever get any distortion from the rail cutters? In N gauge I found the Xuron did not give a clean cut so i got a dremel and using the 25mm discs got a good cut. Not sure if the 25mm discs would work on the HO track ? I use the PSX and have pizo's on all, amazing. Anyway great video as usual and great work.

    • @JasonWood_Escarpment
      @JasonWood_Escarpment  2 года назад

      Happy new year to you as well! I usually just have to file the ends at 90 degrees and under the rail to get the distortion out and then have no trouble with the rail joiners. I power every piece of track so don't rely on joiners for conductivity. The dremel will work just fine on HO, as I have done in the past. Yeah the pizo are my insurance policy lol..regards

    Happy new year Jason! The new track arrangements look good. I always think the best track planning happens after you've laid track and run trains. You soon realize what works and what doesn't lol As you model the Illawarra, have you considered putting a milk depot in that space?

    • @JasonWood_Escarpment

      Hi Neale, happy new year to you too! That is an industry I will look into..cheers
