The old cop with the photos is played by a actor called Edward Woodward (who played Robert McCall ) in the 80s TV series the equalizer before Denzel Washington
This has to be one of the tightest movie scripts ever written. Almost every line of dialogue is either foreshadowing or a call-back. Even the seemingly throwaway jokes have hidden meanings that pay off later, such as the foreshadowing right at the start of the movie when Nicholas says "you can't just make people disappear," and Bill Nighy replies "yes I can, I'm the Chief Inspector."
I know right. My favourite scene in this movie is when they were chasing this guy on a bicycle and then the guy falls off and shoots a bus driver, and so our main character has to get on the bus and stop it before it hurts someone.
What's really different about this is a cop character who's both a veteran and super-earnest. Modern American cop movies and shows (after like the '70s or something) only have either a jaded veteran or an earnest rookie, but never an earnest veteran. England is owed mad props for the "psycho cult small town" genre of horror that this makes fun of. The original Wicker Man is one of the source materials for sure.
thats what i always find so hard to describe about his character, if you say he's like an Amazing cop, people think of Bad boys or something, no he's Amazing at paperwork and the correct usage of notebooks, and also kicking ass
That's Cate Blanchett in the hazmat suit as Nicholas's girlfriend and Peter Jackson as stabby Father Christmas.
🤯
Correct!... apart from the rest of the (probal) best cast ever assembled in any movie ever made!.... this is the best comedy movie ever made !!
Hot Fuzz is one of my favorite movies and it's incredible how many different genres are thrown in this. Comedy, horror, suspense, drama, bromance and of course, action. I often go back to this when I feel like rewatching something.
something i like about the end of this fil is that both the main antagonists are actually taken out by ridiculous accidents jsut like they've been trying to pretend happened to everyone else. slipped on a model van and impaled on a church spire through the chin. attacked by a swan in the car
To add insult to injury it was a Sainsbury's model van.
Some of the actors you didn't recognise are the Supermarket owner, Timothy Dalton has played James Bond, the guy at the end with the shotgun is Edward Woodward who played the original Equaliser.
Ans starred in the Wicker man which is an inspiration for the film!
@@benlee8436 The original, not the awful remake.
What about Cate Blanchett or Peter Jackson lmaoo. Those are great easter eggs.
fun fact, my GF is from somerset where they filmed it and got a loyt of the extras from. she went to Uni with the guy with the ginger afro who's birthday is on the 22nd of february EVERY YEAR
Afro.... lol
The town of 'Sandford' is a fictional location the police use for training.
whose
I think they said that Irene killed herself by driving off a gorge the year they didn't win it, so they've done everything they can to win every year since
One of my favorite movies! It's pretty much perfect!
Black Mirror is not a patch on Inside No 9
Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith ( League of Gentlemen and Psychoville as well) are brilliant
The lead actor from Get out ,Daniel Kaluuya had a supporting role in Psychoville ,
@@kirstygunn9149 indeed, Tealeaf 😊😊😊
@@williamburnham3659 I called my cat Tealeaf after his character. She's 14 now!
Also the Swan, all the swans in the UK belong to Queen Elizabeth! Well King Charles…..just can’t get used to that. You hurt one and you’ll be had if they catch ya.
Great reaction! Well edited!! Well done!
One of my favs. Yarp
A good movie to check out is " dead man's shoe " with paddy considine.
This movie is one of a handful I would give 10\10
dude far right looks like vaas from farcry 3 but with a better hairline :)
You want me to tell you the definition of insanity?
I used to live in a town in Devon (banjos) and played on a darts team...13 players..11 related by blood or marriage or both🤯 and everyone knew everyone....easy police work, just arrest the STRANGERRRRRs
You should check out Dead man’s shoes Paddy Considine (viserys) is so good in it.
So many great actors with minor roles in this one.
Haven't seen Bad Boys?! Damn.
...You ain’t seen Bad Boys II?
@@gogousa6661 What? Yes and 3...
All Sgt's get paid the same regardless of location.
Not true, all London officers get paid more than their out-of-London counterparts.
Great movie!
British comedy is No1 !
not in the UK the pay scale is the same.
Awesome reaction, boys!
James bond let himself down
I kinda like the idea of an American-set Hot Fuzz. An earnest police-officer is transferred to a small-town in the US that's as clean-cut as Main Street, Disney World (and we all know why)
Can't agree with you about The Office (I'm a Brit) ..lol... but my teenager loves the US version
Please react the hangover
So many jokes,in nearly every line in the script...top three movies of all time !
Beloch Indiana Jones
Good fun reactions 😎 👍😁.. Guy's checkout.. Paul, same 2 main leads and very much the same humour. It isn't part of the trilogy but actually better than the third of the trilogy
