  • The family of 15-year-old Hannah Serfass, who died in a horseback riding accident in Venice in April, is publically sharing their message for the first time today. The teen's mother says Hannah's passion was riding.
"I know that she was living her life for God and for the animals. She loved animals," said her mother, Janine Serfass.
In her mother's eyes, Hannah was pure sunshine.

Looking at her equitation and how she maneuvered with her horse partner, I can tell that years of love and support molded this rider. Such a loving and caring family.

What a wonderful sweet attitude her mother has!!! Her daughter died instantly doing what she loved best. None of us know what lies ahead, but this young lady was plucked from who knows what in this crazy world of ours. Accolades to her Mum for being accepting and positive.

When you have the comfort of God, you'll handle it pretty well. Knowing that your child loved and believed in God, knowing she is no longer suffering here on this corrupt earth, and is in overwhelming joy with the Lord, is the best comfort a parent can receive. She is now home with the Lord, and her mother can be at peace knowing that.

People handle grief, differently. It likely, hasn't fully hit home for her as yet. Once her Funeral was over, and the media attention dissipates, it may be a different story then. Hopefully, they have plenty of family, friends, and Pastoral Support from their Church Family, to help and support them, through this heartbreaking challenge. From ~ Australia 💖 ~

the horse she was riding got excited she fell off hit her head, an air ambulance lifted her to hospital, sadly life support was turned off a few days later.

That's not true. People handle loss of loved ones differently. She doesn't want to remember Hannah for her death, but for her life. I think that she could also not have come to terms that she's lost her little girl. This was not a necessary comment.

As a mom I do feel like this video of her makes her look off. I’m guessing she’s probably still in shock or she’s exhausted from talking about the accident itself and has isolated that from the death of her daughter.

@@mariahlarson92 Never judge, what it feels like to walk in another person's shoes. Or assume, that a person must react in a certain way, or that they are any less a person or less of a Parent if they don't. Especially, when we don't know her personally. There is only one, worthy to judge all of us. That is God. Whether you are a person, of faith or not. Death is a part of life, unfortunately. Anyway, I was just sharing some thoughts, I guess.

    • @TheNutters768

Mother definitely cares. Many cope with death differently, not all have to be crying or sound like they will cry. Many seem calm after, but that can be shock, it could be denial. You can be sad while not showing it. I never showed it after my grandmother passed, but on the inside, i was breaking down.
It takes a long time for a mother to process her child has passed on, something that happened in a split second, a healthy child is gone. Sometimes the reality that they're gone doesn't kick in till days, even weeks, later. We should never say a mother doesn't seem to care. She does.

Watch the video "Dover Medal Test 1st Place-Quaxx 2. This is the horse Hannah was riding when she was killed. At about the 30 second mark that horse's front left leg collapses. If I'm not mistaken, that's the same leg he "stumbled" on when the little girl was killed. IMHO, there was something wrong with that horse that made him dangerous to ride. IMO, someone was negligent.
