I Don't Use a Paternoster Rig for whiting,. I only use a Tinganoster 2.0 in the Bass yabby Color or you can tie your own Western Port Style |Running rig if you're worried about weed cast around the back of your boat with a slow wind to find the Hole's even if you cant see the weed.. you soon know by feeling the line as your winding in , find the Sweet Spot ... My Favorite BAIT is a fresh Squid Square on Circle , even when there biting funny. . Make your own GPS marks like in this video .. video was made to Help the New Angler's.. choice of Hook & rig is up to you . if you use OUR Rigs I recommend THE TINGANOSTER 2.0 , there so good in Both Bay's.

Awesome brother so after taking ur advise on chasing snapper in the shallows i went out yesterday arvo cruised around the shallows n sounded up some massive arches but no matter wat i did no joy they were hanging in 6 to 7 metres of water.
it will be very hard now, till early September .. best bet I feel is shallow reef's chasing pinkies work though them there be a better fish in there somewhere. plenty of squid & whiting around too

This would be rosebud area I believe or maybe a bit further south. I think rosebud holds whiting in winter. Same as Westernport from Cowes to cat Bay.
